The morning is spent with a community where many individuals hail from the Lickanantay ethnic group. You will walk alongside llama herders while hearing tales about ancient Andean life and how the worldview is upheld. The afternoon is spent at the Tulor Archaeological Site, learning about of the architecture, society, and life of the early Atacameños.

Diogo, born and raised in Lisbon, has spent much of his life traveling the world, returning with a global outlook that complements his intimate knowledge of the city. Together, they offer an unapologetic, authentic voice on Lisbon’s street art scene, connecting visitors not only to the works on the walls but also to the people and forces that keep the city’s creative spirit alive.

Mexico

A short guided hike of roughly two hours will take you to a series of caves featuring rustic paintings and traces of human habitation dating back over 10,000 years. They depict the early domestication period of the Zapotec people, when their ancestors first settled here as hunter-gatherers. These caverns are part of a larger network of over 200 caves in Yagul, where the earliest remnants of domesticated corn—a tiny and now obsolete variety known as teocintle—were discovered. This entire area was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010.

As these caves are protected and the town operates under Indigenous law, it’s required that we travel with a local guide provided by the pueblo’s government office.

After the hike, we’ll continue the corn theme with lunch at a local restaurant, sampling one of the most iconic corn-based dishes in Oaxaca: the tlayuda. We’ll share a variety of styles, along with a refreshing non-alcoholic agua fresca.

This hike is a chance to appreciate the splendor of the Oaxacan countryside and gain insight into the earliest Zapotec people who settled in this land. Your host, a long-time Oaxaca resident with strong connections to this community, will arrange the hike with a guide from the local government office to ensure the experience complies with Indigenous law for this protected area. The majority of the experience is spent exploring Mendoza’s only artisan market where every single item is made at the hands of native communities and Mendocino families, often using methods passed down through the ages. Semana Santa transforms Seville for a week each spring (29 March to 5 April in 2026). From Palm Sunday through early morning of Easter Sunday, more than 60 religious brotherhoods cross the city in processions.

You watch the processions from street level as they cross different parts of the city. Each brotherhood leaves its church and walks toward the cathedral in a ritual journey that defines the tradition. You see the nazarenos in robes and pointed hoods. The pasos carry centuries-old sculptures of Christ or the Virgin surrounded by candles and flowers. Beneath the platforms, hidden costaleros move in synchronized steps so the pasos appear to glide through the streets.

An expert local guide leads you to vantage points along the route and explains what you are seeing. You encounter one or two — sometimes even three — processions in some of Seville’s most emblematic streets and squares. You hear the history of the brotherhoods, meaning of the rituals, and stories that surround them.

Semana Santa processions can last between four and fourteen hours and draw enormous crowds. Without guidance, visitors often wait in one place without understanding what they are seeing or how the procession works.

Your guide belongs to a local brotherhood and knows the rhythm of Holy Week from the inside. He explains the structure of the hermandad, the meaning of the rituals, and the role of the costaleros carrying the multi-ton pasos. He also knows how the city moves during the processions. Once a procession advances, crossing streets becomes difficult. Positioning matters. Your guide knows where to stand and when to move. At times you may weave through the crowd or cross the route as the procession passes, guided safely from one vantage point to another.

Yves Saint Laurent gifted Jardin Majorelle to Marrakech, the city that adopted him and his partner in the 60s. They bought an electric-blue villa and its garden, preserved the vision of its original owner (landscape painter Jacques Majorelle), and opened it to the public. 

What makes this feel like a psychedelic mirage in the desert?

Psychedelic Mirage

The largest (not highest) waterfalls in the world are located in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. It's a breathtaking spectacle to hear, see and feel the masses of water cascading down the landscape, and along the way, you'll see beautiful rainbows, coatis, and birds.
To get there, you'll fly to Puerto Iguazú and stay at one of the local hostels. We took this colorful train to the falls, and then you hike a bit on very accessible trails. Take your camera, because you'll want to show these views to your friends and family back home. Later in the evening you can watch the sunset and have a nice view of the three-country border – a river that separates Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.
After visiting the Argentine side of the falls, you can take a trip to Brazil to experience the other side of the falls as well. On the Brazilian side, you can also visit a local botanical garden where you can observe mockingbirds, butterflies, monkeys, and other tropical animals.

Center of Lagos

Spend the afternoon exploring two of Dubrovnik's historic and photo-worthy sites: the Franciscan Monastery and the Dominican Monastery.

Start with the Franciscan Monastery, located near the Pile Gate. This serene spot offers a quiet retreat from the city's bustle. The monastery's peaceful cloister, featuring Romanesque-Gothic architecture and a beautiful central garden, is a highlight for photographers. Don't miss the Old Pharmacy, one of the oldest functioning pharmacies in Europe, which offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. You can comfortably explore the Franciscan Monastery in about 45 minutes to an hour.

Next, head to the Dominican Monastery, situated near the Ploče Gate. This monastery, with its impressive Gothic-Renaissance style, houses a stunning collection of art and artifacts. The cloister, adorned with arches and lush greenery, provides a perfect setting for reflection and photography. The monastery's museum showcases works by local artists, offering insight into Dubrovnik's rich cultural heritage. Plan to spend another 45 minutes to an hour here.

Both sites can be seen in around two hours, providing a peaceful and enriching experience that allows you to immerse yourself in the history and beauty of Dubrovnik.

Monasteries Dubrovnik Old Town

The narrow, bustling alleys illuminated by rays of light filtering through makeshift coverings are a common sight in the Medina of Fes, where the blend of shadow and light creates a mysterious and historical ambiance, perfect for exploring on foot. It's an excellent depiction of daily life within the heart of Fes, showcasing the energy and the dense social fabric of this ancient city.

The contrast between the high-heeled boots that seem to be the footwear of choice for young women in wintertime and how Fes is rooted in time is a stark contrast of the past, present, and future that all exist. Marrakech’s medina had felt medieval, but it cannot compare with the proud, faded, crumbling, stately stance of Fes. The architecture is more intricate, the medersas older, the beliefs stauncher, and the passages more secretive.

I step aside just in time as I hear the chant – “Balak, balak” (watch out, watch out) – and a mule laden with fruits saunters past. Mules aren’t officially allowed, says my guide Karima, pointing to a sign at one of the doors of the medina. She’s taken it upon herself to quiz me about Arabic words. What is ‘door’ in Arabic? That’s easy, I say, pointing to the sign at one of the medina entrances, Bab ____ (pronounced not unlike the name ‘Bob’!).

The most memorable sound? Place Seffarine, a square known for its rhythmic orchestra: metal clanging on metal, non-stop throughout the day. Under the protection of a centuries-old tree, talented craftsmen hammer and sculpt copper pots and pans in cacophonous harmony. We sipped mint tea and people-watched, entranced, for a whole hour.

Fes Medina: Bab To Bab

Antalya, Turkey, is home to the breathtaking Düden Waterfalls, a stunning natural attraction split into Upper Düden Waterfall, hidden in a lush forest, and Lower Düden Waterfall, which dramatically plunges into the Mediterranean Sea. These waterfalls, fed by the Düden River, offer a refreshing escape from the city and a spectacular setting for nature lovers and photographers alike.


1. Lower Düden Waterfall, cascading 40 meters (131 feet) off a cliff into the Mediterranean, is best viewed from Düden Park or by taking a boat tour for an up-close experience.

2. Upper Düden Waterfall, set in a shaded parkland, features caves and walking trails behind the waterfall, allowing visitors to experience the cascading water from a unique perspective.

3. The surrounding Düden Park offers scenic walking paths, picnic areas, and panoramic sea views, making it a great spot to relax.

5. Rich birdlife and greenery create a peaceful escape, making both sites perfect for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a break from Antalya’s bustling city center.

Visitor Tip: Visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and capture the best lighting for photography. Wear comfortable shoes if exploring the Upper Düden caves, as some paths can be slippery.
