Your adventure begins with a leisurely uphill walk from Nafplio’s Old City to the historic summit of Acronafplia. This 3-km walk, suitable for all fitness levels, takes you through charming cobblestone alleys and stepped roads, flanked by medieval walls. Acronafplia is the oldest of Nafplio’s fortifications, with layers built by the Byzantines, Franks, Venetians, and Ottomans—so you'll walk through centuries of history.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Argolic Gulf and pass through a "forest" of prickly pears. At the summit, you’ll arrive at the oldest part of Nafplio and meet local Sifu and Kung Fu master Sofia Kougia, who will guide you through a calming tai chi session that promotes relaxation and mindfulness through slow, flowing movements.

Rita Zidikou was born in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece, but she now lives in Nafplio with her family. She works as a drama educator for children, and her passion for nature has inspired her to integrate outdoor activities into her work. Having trained as a mountain guide, she now balances her time between the arts, education, hiking, nature play, and creating unique experiences.

Sofia Kougia is a Kung Fu Master, Tai Chi instructor, and certified yoga teacher. She also leads meditation sessions and practices Qi Gong, providing her students with a wellness experience centered around ancient practices she has studied and explored for years. Sofia has studied Sociology and was awarded world champion status with the Greek National Kung Fu team in 2008.

Chile

Co-hosted by a local couple with a combined 20 years of experience in astro-tourism, this astronomy experience takes place beneath some of the clearest night skies in the world in a boutique observatory installed at a private residence on the outskirts of San Pedro de Atacama. Comfort is of utmost priority: you will first be seated in a cozy lounge where Juan Pablo will devote 30 minutes to the fundamentals of astronomy. After warming up over hot beverages and local liqueur, you will be ushered outside to the telescope area and invited to survey the night sky for celestial objects with Valeria.

This observatory contains two state-of-the-art Dobsonian Telescopes (16' and 12'), which enable you to see planets, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. Valeria will demonstrate how to use the telescopes and point out a variety of celestial objects over the course of the session—note that items spotted is dependent on the conditions/season. Hammock chairs are provided for maximum comfort!

This is an intuitive and highly personalized stargazing experience hosted by a bilingual local couple. Valeria and Juan Pablo wouldn't dream of relying on a script. Besides being experts in regional astronomy and ecosystems, your hosts know to read the room; they will tune in with your level of knowledge and adapt the activity accordingly. For budding skywatchers who have never seen a telescope, this is your opportunity to pose those lingering questions you may feel shy to ask in a large, shared tour. Seasoned stargazers can improve their understanding and sharpen their technical ability in a private observatory setting.

Valeria and Juan Pablo dedicate the entire session to sharing knowledge, wisdom, and passion for the night sky. Their commentary leans towards modern cosmology and scientific discovery; winter sessions include more discussion of the Andean worldview and Indigenous practices. This private day trip from Valencia takes you into the Utiel-Requena wine region, where centuries of viticulture shape both landscape and identity.

Accompanied by an expert guide, you begin in the Old Town of Requena, walking through its historic quarter before descending into the Cuevas de la Villa — an underground network of caves where wine was made and stored centuries ago. Here, temperature, darkness, and time are built into the town itself.

The journey continues to the village of Los Pedrones, where you meet Alberto, owner of a small wine project dedicated to recovering abandoned old vineyards and working with native varieties. You walk among the vines, learn about the philosophy behind these wines, and take part in a curated tasting paired with local “Km 0” bites that reflect the agricultural character of the region. This is a wine experience rooted in place — historical, agricultural, and contemporary at once.

Utiel-Requena has documented wine heritage stretching back thousands of years, yet it remains outside most standard visitor itineraries — part of why it still feels agricultural rather than touristic. It is one of Spain’s historic wine regions, particularly known for the Bobal grape. Vineyards here are measured in generations.

This creative photography experience in Buenos Aires is designed for newbie photography enthusiasts, those with existing knowledge about composition, and advanced photographers seeking ways to improve their cityscape and landscape photography. The locations are a variety of rooftop settings with remarkable views of the city, many of which are not known by tourists or are even off-limits to the average sightseer. 

During the course of the route, you will take in a panoramic view of Puerto Madero, Corrientes Avenue, and its Obelisk from an exclusive rooftop perch. You will soak up 360-degree views of Florida Avenue and the beautiful domes of May Avenue from a 14-floor aerial viewpoint. Kyoto-based artist Rachel takes you on a relaxing journey exploring the breathtaking scenery of Kyoto's Higashiyama area where at each destination, she will teach you how to capture the elegant beauty of Kyoto using Japanese watercolors.

You will stroll through neighborhoods featuring temples, shrines, parks, and rustic buildings in search of inspiration, but at a gentle pace that allows you to see authentic life in Kyoto that you might miss by trying to maximize the number of highlights you can visit in one day. In fact, Rachel lets you set the pace for the day, whether you prefer to visit more locations to do some quick sketches or just a few doing in-depth sketching.

As you explore, Rachel will explain the rich history and culture about the places you will visit, paying close attention to the details and nuances a casual visitor might overlook. During your walk, you'll have time to enjoy a snack featuring a local Kyoto specialty, and of course, a tea to go along with it.

Drawing from her experience as a long-time resident artist of Kyoto, Rachel has selected an area with a variety of sketchable locations that are completely customizable based on seasons, weather, and your skills and interests. Whether it be the majestic Gion Weeping Cherry Tree in the Spring, stone-lined streets of Nene-no-Michi in Autumn, or a snow-dusted Yasaka Pagoda in the Winter, Rachel’s helpful instructions will have you creating a unique watercolor keepsake of your memories of Kyoto. She’ll also provide a bit of history and cultural context of the places you visit that will enrich your Kyoto experience.

Rachel believes the analog process of sketching during travel helps people connect better with their destination and teaches them to observe details more closely. During this experience, you'll learn skills that you can continue to use in future travels and take home a handy compact art kit that can accompany you to other destinations.

Rachel is an artist and instructor based in Kyoto, Japan. Combining her formal Western art training with her ongoing studies of Eastern art traditions (such as sumi-e ink painting), her work is focused on expressively capturing the scenery of Kyoto en plein air.

Her watercolor paintings of Kyoto have been featured in the Kyoto Journal and her sumi-e paintings displayed in the Nippon Suibokuga Art Association's annual shows.

An experienced educator, she has offered on-site sketching and painting classes in Kyoto for over 7 years, working with a full range of ages and experience levels. Her instruction style is personalized and supportive, aimed at giving participants both the practical skills and confidence to continue creating art of their own.

Her philosophy is that by taking time to sketch and paint, whether while traveling or in daily life, one can forge a special relationship with one's surroundings and make unforgettable memories.

This itinerary reflects what Manila calls the “true essence of Catalonia” — a place of cultural pride, natural beauty, and distinct local identity. Manila first arrived in Barcelona more than two decades ago, while finishing her studies in Rome. She needed an internship for her thesis and chose Barcelona without expecting how quickly she’d feel at home.“Barcelona, 22 years ago, was a different place,” she says. “It was less cosmopolitan, more local. I remember wandering through narrow streets and finding tiny bars with real flamenco. It felt genuinely lived in.”
 “Tourism has definitely changed things,” she admits. “Places like La Rambla are overcrowded. Many locals have been pushed out by the rise in tourist rentals. But Catalans are proud of their traditions. They’ve started resisting these changes to preserve the city’s character.” That character is what Manila has grown to love. “I chose Barcelona because I felt an immediate connection. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the weather, the proximity to mountains and sea — it feels like home but also stretches me outside my comfort zone.” She relishes the contrast to her native Sicily. “I can take a train and be skiing in the Pyrenees in just over an hour. Where else do you get that?”
What keeps her in Barcelona is the balance of tradition and openness. “The cuisine, the olive groves, the vineyards — they remind me of southern Italy, but they’re uniquely Catalan.” And the city’s connectivity has made it easy to stay rooted while maintaining close ties to Italy. She speaks with admiration about the people: “Catalans are proud, resilient, and united. They have a strong sense of identity and community. Whether through demonstrations or cultural festivals, they come together. They’re efficient and organized, but also keep that relaxed Mediterranean vibe. It’s a unique combination.”
