This workshop offers a first-hand experience of all the steps involved in the creation of the emblematic tapas of Spain. You’ll see the journey of creating a selection of tapas from market to the table. You will prepare the tapas under the guidance of the chef, who will explain the geographical origin of each dish, and share interesting facts and creative possibilities for their preparation. The hands-on experience is a crucial element. Following the preparation, there's the joy of tasting the creations, paired with traditional Spanish wines. The workshop consists of the following traditional dishes: Bread with tomatoes, Gazpacho (tomatoes cold soup) – Seasonal, Escalivada (Flame-grilles vegetables), Potatoes Spanish omelette, Piquillo peppers stuffed with tuna mousse, Montadito of chistorra and quail egg, Montadito of sausage with allioli and pear, Squid with onions, Dessert: Catalan cream. This Experience accommodates a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 participants to make base costs and logistics work. Included, besides the guiding, are: mule and muleteer, a freshly prepared lunch in a Berber family home, bottled water, and all tips/gratuities for the guide and local businesses/families who support this venture so that you can have a “wallet-free” experience. Pickups will be included only from nearby hotels (Chat with Ahmed after booking if you‘re staying in Imlil). 

Dress for mountain conditions: sturdy boots, waterproof jacket, layers, gloves, hat, sun cream, fleece/anorak for winter. Water bottle and day pack.

If you need a trekking pole, let Ahmed know in advance. Inform him of any medical conditions or physical limitations. Confirm if your party need mules or not. 

Be prepared for altitude, and respect Berber customs in the villages you pass.

We will meet at a pre-determined point in the Imlil area (The meeting point in Imlil will be confirmed by Ahmed after the booking). Pickups will be included only from nearby local hotels in Imlil.  The excursion begins in Imlil, about 1.5 hours by car from Marrakesh. If you’re staying in Marrakesh, Ourika, or similar, please arrange round-trip transportation with your hotel.

This is a sensory immersion in the heart of Cuglieri, an authentic Sardinian village rich in traditions and natural beauty. You will walk for about an hour through its narrow paved streets, breathing the scent of wild herbs while discovering hidden corners and breathtaking views from the Basilica of Santa Maria della Neve, the highest point of the town. Accompanied by Eva, you will learn to observe and collect the wild plants that grow spontaneously among the ancient stones and the surrounding fields, coming into direct contact with Sardinian nature and the history of the place.

After the botanic walk, you will experiment with cyanotype, an ancient sun-print technique to transform the collected herbs and flowers into a unique work of art, exploring a new connection between you and the soul of the place. The workshop is guided step by step by Eva, and you can bring your work home. After the creative experience, a taste adventure awaits you: the local panadas and a glass of wine.

You'll reconnect with nature and yourself by exploring the Sardinian landscape surrounding a traditional village and experimenting with your creativity through an ancient, sustainable artistic technique powered by the sun. The cyanotype technique, dating back to the 19th century, allows you to print on paper or fabric using sunlight and natural chemicals. An intense Prussian Blue emerges as the image gradually appears under the sun’s rays.

Botanical cyanotype does not require technical skills but unleashes your creativity through an intuitive interaction with Sardinian nature. All materials used are sourced from the surrounding landscape, collected during a walk through the stone-paved village and its nearby fields.

This experience offers a full immersion in the world of washi — Japanese handmade paper — woven into Kyoto’s architecture, rituals and daily life. For over a 1000 years, this humble material has carried story, structure and spirit across generations. Kyoto has long been a center of washi artistry, supplying paper to temples, palaces and traditional arts.

You’ll begin in the Kyoto Botanical Gardens, where you’ll learn about plants that form the base of washi and how the fibers are transformed by hand. From there, Emilie will guide you to artisan studios, offering a close look at traditional techniques and the lived artistry behind them.

Later, you’ll step inside a historic noble residence, where washi-lined walls and shoji screens show how paper softens light and defines space in Japanese design. The walk ends in a curated selection of shops in Demachiyanagi offering handmade washi — a way to see the best in the craft today, and an invitation to take home a piece of enduring culture.

Washi may be everywhere in Kyoto, but without context, it’s easy to overlook. Emilie, a researcher of traditional crafts, helps you see what’s hidden in plain sight — how paper threads through rituals, interiors, and craftsmanship. Her fluency in the language, culture, and material open doors you wouldn’t even know to knock on, translating not just words but values, processes, and small gestures. What might seem decorative becomes, with her insight, a story of continuity—one that connects you to the deeper logic of Kyoto’s design and tradition.

This experience is ideal for curious travelers who want to see how washi shapes light in tearooms, reinforces sliding doors, preserves scrolls, and appears in daily life. In between, you’ll pass through narrow lanes, behind sliding doors, and see spaces where washi is used to shape light, dampen sound, and define the place. This 4-hour walking tour unravels the political history of Buenos Aires. Taking place in Recoleta and Retiro districts, Silvina's route passes through the most elegant parts of the city. You'll encounter majestic palaces once frequented by the high society of Buenos Aires and hear how they were used. Silvina will spotlight the architects behind each building and share the secrets of the people who resided within, as well as those honored in statues and other monuments. You'll tilt your neck at what was once the tallest skyscraper in Latin America and learn how revolution and wars shaped the city we see today.

This 1.5-hour experience takes place at CasaPlan—a collaborative workspace for artists living in the city of Valparaíso and the wider Fifth Region of Chile. Located in El Plan (the flat part of the city), CasaPlan features a printmaking workshop, two galleries dedicated to contemporary Chilean art, and a cafe. Hosted by one of CasaPlan's resident mixed-media artists, Marcela Rodriguez, you will enjoy a private tour of the printmaking workshop, witness a lithography demonstration, and engage with creatives over their latest projects. 

Traditionally using limestone slabs, lithography is a printing technique that works on the immiscibility of oil and water. Marcela will also accompany you to the two visual art shows—explaining the concept behind each installation. In the instance that one of the artists exhibited is available in the workshop, Marcela will facilitate a cultural exchange with them. The experience includes coffee/tea and a slice of cake in the cafe and a print to take home.

CasaPlan is a cultural hub in Valparaíso that brings together art, food, education, and hospitality in a beautiful historic space. It was founded by the female artist Javiera Moreira and the architect Antonia Jarpa to serve as a printmaking workshop where established artists nurture emerging creatives through courses and residency programs. Being located on the periphery of Valparaíso's typical tourist trail means the venue retains a community vibe and is primarily visited by artists and local residents. 

Although cafe-goers glimpse the artists at work in the open-concept studio, Marcela's experience is the only means of interaction. As one one the few bilingual creatives, Marcela can facilitate conversations with the resident artists and lead a fascinating dialogue about Chile's modern art scene. Marcela will also escort you to the two art shows which often exhibit work by CasaPlan's resident artists. She will provide insightful commentary on the pieces, to be continued over coffee.

Meet Marcela in CasaPlan on Avenida Brasil, in Valparaíso, Chile. Upon arrival, make yourself known to a member of staff at the cafe and they will call Marcela from the workshop.

Marcela Rodriguez is a contemporary multi-media artist who grew up living in lighthouses with her lighthouse-keeper father along the rugged Southern Chilean coast. The vast Patagonian landscape and turbulent Pacific Ocean greatly influenced her. While in college, she discovered street theatre and performed with two important Santiago theatre troupes.

In 1992, Marcela moved to Minneapolis in the US and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and an MFA in painting and drawing. In 2001, she moved back to Chile and developed a passion for printmaking, focusing on lithography. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries throughout Chile, Mexico, Cuba, and the USA.

Marcela has completed two art residencies for printmakers, including a month-long one in Veracruz, Mexico, at La Ceiba Grafica in 2018 and with renowned artists from “Taller 99” in Santiago, 2019. She currently lives and works as a visual artist in Concon, Chile, and teaches at CasaPlan in Valparaíso.

The day trip begins with a scenic walk through groves of twisted Argan trees, learning about this UNESCO‑protected ecosystem and spotting local wildlife like squirrels, rare birds, and even foxes. This itinerary reflects what Manila calls the “true essence of Catalonia” — a place of cultural pride, natural beauty, and distinct local identity. Manila first arrived in Barcelona more than two decades ago, while finishing her studies in Rome. She needed an internship for her thesis and chose Barcelona without expecting how quickly she’d feel at home.“Barcelona, 22 years ago, was a different place,” she says. “It was less cosmopolitan, more local. I remember wandering through narrow streets and finding tiny bars with real flamenco. It felt genuinely lived in.”
 “Tourism has definitely changed things,” she admits. “Places like La Rambla are overcrowded. Many locals have been pushed out by the rise in tourist rentals. But Catalans are proud of their traditions. They’ve started resisting these changes to preserve the city’s character.” That character is what Manila has grown to love. “I chose Barcelona because I felt an immediate connection. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the weather, the proximity to mountains and sea — it feels like home but also stretches me outside my comfort zone.” She relishes the contrast to her native Sicily. “I can take a train and be skiing in the Pyrenees in just over an hour. Where else do you get that?”
What keeps her in Barcelona is the balance of tradition and openness. “The cuisine, the olive groves, the vineyards — they remind me of southern Italy, but they’re uniquely Catalan.” And the city’s connectivity has made it easy to stay rooted while maintaining close ties to Italy. She speaks with admiration about the people: “Catalans are proud, resilient, and united. They have a strong sense of identity and community. Whether through demonstrations or cultural festivals, they come together. They’re efficient and organized, but also keep that relaxed Mediterranean vibe. It’s a unique combination.”

Narrows hike in Zion is a fun and challenging hike that people of all ages can try out.  Just take the free shuttle bus from the Zion visitor center to the final stop (Temple of Sinawava) and hike the riverside trail until it ends.  Great views of Zion Canyon from within!
