This 3.5-hour photography experience takes place in two of the most beautiful and culturally rich neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: La Boca and San Telmo. Led by a professional travel photographer from Buenos Aires, you will explore these streets with your own camera and learn how to capture the kinds of imagery usually seen in guidebooks and brochures.  Bernardo will steer you past iconic sights and down hidden passageways, illuminating architectural features easily spotted by the typical traveler. The experience is designed for beginner photographers through to those with an existing knowledge of photography. It is best experienced with a DSLR or mirrorless camera however cell phones are also welcome. Tripods are not necessary although carrying a variety of lenses is a bonus.

This photographic experience is designed to introduce you to the most bohemian, visually enticing, and culturally stimulating neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. The host, Şeyma, is a seasoned artist specializing in Tezhip, miniature art, and floral designs since 1998. With formal certification from Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and years of teaching experience, Şeyma has a profound understanding of the history and intricacies of traditional Turkish illumination. Having participated in multiple exhibitions and published work on Islamic art, she brings both technical expertise and cultural depth to the workshop, ensuring participants leave with a rich understanding of this ancient craft. She will be accompanied by a translator, allowing everyone to fully engage with her insights and expertise.

Mexico

This hands-on experience invites you to learn the art of traditional basket weaving from a fifth-generation artisan in his home workshop. You'll learn about the origins of his creative practice and make your own piece to take home, with his expert guidance throughout the process.

Basketry was one of the earliest crafts in Mesoamerica, predating the domestication of crops and handmade ceramics. Because this practice uses biodegradable materials, few historical remnants remain—so its history lives on through family traditions and storytelling. By learning about the skill, time, and dedication involved in creating these baskets, you'll help support local artisans through both financial investment and cultural preservation.

Your basket-making workshop will last roughly two hours. Afterward, you’ll continue the carrizo theme with a meal at a restaurant that serves Oaxacan tlayudas on handwoven carrizo plates.

These artisans are living examples of the role storytelling plays in preserving ancestral artistry. While basketry declined with the introduction of plastic, it still holds an essential place in the rural economy. Through intimate conversations with these makers, you'll gain insight into the cultural importance of carrizo baskets and what they mean to their young family.

These pieces are crafted from an invasive river reed that was once plentiful and easy to access. But with climate change extending the dry months, access is now limited during certain times of the year. Ehren Seeland is a Oaxaca-based creative with a background in art and design and journalism, who travels the globe for professional and personal pursuits. A long-term resident of Oaxaca with family ties to the city, her passion for regional produce, traditional skills, and social impact makes her a fantastic host for the culturally curious and socially minded traveler.

Through all of her projects—including Hecho, a marketplace of artisan-made goods from natural materials—Ehren maintains an active focus on supporting Mexican ancestral traditions through handmade product development, including textiles, pottery, homewares, and other works. Her projects also place special emphasis on supporting women and indigenous communities.

Morocco

This is a full-day guided trek through the High Atlas Mountains, starting and ending in the village of Imlil. Your journey begins with a gradual climb through Tamatert, a quiet mountain village with stone homes and terraced fields, before reaching the Tidli Plateau at 2,350 meters. This wide-open ridge offers stunning 360° views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, often with no one else in sight. The trail then continues to the Isk Summit at 2,500 meters, offering even more expansive vistas, including sights of Mount Toubkal. 

Afterward, the path continues downhill past terraced farmland and the peaceful Amadin Waterfall—an ideal spot to rest your legs and soak in the mountain air. You’ll then pass through the sleepy village of Achain before returning to Imlil by late afternoon. The trek takes around 5–6 hours at a moderate pace and is ideal for reasonably fit hikers looking for a quiet, off-the-beaten-path route filled with natural beauty and mountain hospitality.

Hiking to the rarely visited Tidli Plateau, a panoramic ridge with sweeping views of Mount Toubkal—a ridge offering panoramic views seldom seen by visitors, makes this special. Unlike the busier trails leading to the Toubkal summit, this path is peaceful and lesser-known—ideal for travelers who want to experience the rhythm of the mountains without the crowds. 

The trail is richly varied, from forested switchbacks to sunlit plateaus, cultivated fields and rushing streams. Your guide, deeply familiar with the land, will share insights into the area's traditions and the significance of local landmarks. 

Lunch is a generous, home-cooked Berber meal in the village of Armed, served with mountain views and genuine warmth. The final stretch past the Amadin Waterfall offers a moment of calm before your return. It’s a day filled with connection—to land, tradition, a slower way of moving, far from the buzz of the Medina.

In 1953, Shoghi Effendi, guardian of the Bahá'í Faith, envisioned a temple to unite a continent. By 2016, this dream crystallized into the Mother Temple of South America—and today this is the first stop on your one-day odyssey of Santiago de Chile.

The Bahá'í Temple of Santiago is a structure of nine luminous “petals” each arching skyward like a prayer. Thirty meters high, its glass-clad sails filter daylight into a sanctuary for 600 souls, symbolizing the Bahá'í tenet of oneness. 

As Julio will expand on, the temple’s floral form is no accident: it mirrors nature’s perfection, a deliberate echo of divine harmony. Santiago Bahá'í Temple

Arriving at Los Dominicos Artisan's Village is akin to walking into a living archive of Chilean tradition. Nestled beside the 18th-century San Vicente Ferrer Church in Santiago's Los Condes district, this enclave of 200 workshops hums with the legacy of Mapuche metalsmiths, colonial leather workers, and mestizo weavers. 

Julio will weave you around the artisan village and introduce you to craftspeople who will share their work and stories. As this is an opportune moment to pick up souvenirs, it is advisable to carry cash (Chilean pesos).

Housed in a beautifully restored riad, the museum presents a remarkable collection of vintage photographs, portraits, and documentary images spanning from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century. With every black-and-white image, the museum reveals Morocco’s deep cultural diversity, traditional lifestyles, and the changing faces of cities, villages, and landscapes across time.

1. From the moment visitors step inside the House of Photography of Marrakesh, they are surrounded by powerful images that document Morocco’s history through the lens of early European photographers, travelers, and local artists.

2. The museum’s collection includes rare photographs of Berber, Arab, and Jewish communities, providing an intimate glimpse into Morocco’s ethnic and cultural mosaic during a time of great social transformation.

The narrow, bustling alleys illuminated by rays of light filtering through makeshift coverings are a common sight in the Medina of Fes, where the blend of shadow and light creates a mysterious and historical ambiance, perfect for exploring on foot. It's an excellent depiction of daily life within the heart of Fes, showcasing the energy and the dense social fabric of this ancient city.

The contrast between the high-heeled boots that seem to be the footwear of choice for young women in wintertime and how Fes is rooted in time is a stark contrast of the past, present, and future that all exist. Marrakech’s medina had felt medieval, but it cannot compare with the proud, faded, crumbling, stately stance of Fes. The architecture is more intricate, the medersas older, the beliefs stauncher, and the passages more secretive.

I step aside just in time as I hear the chant – “Balak, balak” (watch out, watch out) – and a mule laden with fruits saunters past. Mules aren’t officially allowed, says my guide Karima, pointing to a sign at one of the doors of the medina. She’s taken it upon herself to quiz me about Arabic words. What is ‘door’ in Arabic? That’s easy, I say, pointing to the sign at one of the medina entrances, Bab ____ (pronounced not unlike the name ‘Bob’!).

The most memorable sound? Place Seffarine, a square known for its rhythmic orchestra: metal clanging on metal, non-stop throughout the day. Under the protection of a centuries-old tree, talented craftsmen hammer and sculpt copper pots and pans in cacophonous harmony. We sipped mint tea and people-watched, entranced, for a whole hour.

Fes Medina: Bab To Bab

Perched atop Mount Erice in Sicily, the Erice Castle, also known as the Castle of Venus, is a fortress steeped in myth and history. With origins dating back to the ancient Elymians, it later became a significant site during the Norman period. This castle also offers breathtaking views of the Sicilian landscape.
1: The castle's layered history is visible in its architecture, which reflects various eras – from the Elymian and Phoenician foundations to the Norman renovations. It was once a site dedicated to the worship of Venus Erycina, blending pagan rituals with Christian symbolism over the centuries.
2: The Norman influence is particularly prominent in the castle's fortifications and towers. These elements exemplify the strategic military importance of Erice during medieval times.
3: Erice Castle is steeped in mythology. It is said to be the home of the goddess Venus, making it a site of historical and mythological convergence.
4: The castle offers unparalleled views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Egadi Islands, and the city of Trapani. These vistas have made it a popular spot for photography and sightseeing.
5: You may find on your visit that you catch the misty weather which often surrounds the mountaintop adds a mystical aura to the castle, enhancing its medieval charm. Surrounding the castle are tranquil gardens and pathways, offering a serene escape and a chance to explore the local flora and fauna.
Erice Castle is accessible via a scenic cable car ride from Trapani or by road. The site is open to visitors throughout the year, with an entrance fee. It's recommended to check the opening hours before visiting as they can vary seasonally. As you make your way up the incline to the castle, be sure to stop at Gelateria Liparoti for a gelato! It with give you a boost of energy for the rest of your stay of sightseeing.

It leads to the historic Asansör (Elevator), a 1907-built structure designed to connect the lower and upper parts of İzmir with ease. The top of the elevator offers spectacular views of the city and the sea, making it a must-visit spot for photographers and history lovers alike.
1. This quaint street boasts cobblestone paths and colorful facades that exude old-world charm.
2. It is named after the famous Turkish-Jewish singer and artist, Dario Moreno, adding cultural significance to the area.
