This creative photography experience in Buenos Aires is designed for newbie photography enthusiasts, those with existing knowledge about composition, and advanced photographers seeking ways to improve their cityscape and landscape photography. The locations are a variety of rooftop settings with remarkable views of the city, many of which are not known by tourists or are even off-limits to the average sightseer. 

During the course of the route, you will take in a panoramic view of Puerto Madero, Corrientes Avenue, and its Obelisk from an exclusive rooftop perch. You will soak up 360-degree views of Florida Avenue and the beautiful domes of May Avenue from a 14-floor aerial viewpoint. You’ll spy the historically poignant Plaza de Mayo from the Cabildo balconies and gasp at the sight of Recoleta Cemetery view from two bird’s eye vantage points—one of which is restricted to the general public. At each sight, Bernardo will provide expert photography tips and share anecdotes.

This rooftop photography excursion elevates your experience in Buenos Aires to new heights! Most of the locations are high-altitude spots which are unknown or even closed to foreign travelers. Essaouira is visually rich. For centuries, its economy centered on murex, a sea snail that produced a deep purple-blue dye. Today, that color still coats the boats, shutters, and doors that define the city’s palette. It's a natural setting for black and white photography—where contrast, texture, and light take the lead.

The walk includes a visit to Zack’s small, charming atelier, where his black and white prints hang beside books and journals that shaped his work. While the session focuses on black and white photography, Zack is happy to guide you if you prefer to shoot in color—using digital or film.

This experience is about learning to see differently. Zack guides you to focus on light, shape, and timing, rather than technicalities or gear. His black and white approach suits Essaouira, where the textures of stone, sea and shadow carry the story.

The route covers some of the city's most photogenic areas—archways, fishing docks, carved doors, and open courtyards. Set against the stunning Tyrrhenian Sea along the Amalfi Coast, just 1 hour south of Naples, you’ll gather near Matteotti Square in Vietri sul Mare, a coastal town famous for its ceramics. The lush gardens overlooking the sea provide a peaceful setting.

Using grease pencils on paper, you’ll capture the breathtaking scenery while Elvira, a skilled ceramic artist, shares the town’s rich history and its centuries-old ceramic tradition. As you sketch, she’ll weave in local stories and artistic insights. Then, you’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll and a snack, soaking in Vietri’s vibrant, colorful ceramic-tiled streets.

Next, at Elvira’s workshop, you’ll transfer your sketch onto a glazed 20x20 cm tile, learning majolica painting techniques. Step by step, she’ll guide you through the process, helping you bring your vision to life. Once complete, the tile will be fired and glazed, a lasting keepsake of your journey

Colombia

The Coffee Triangle - which includes the pueblo towns of Salento and Filandia - has its own culture, diversity, food and of course, coffee.

I was told that I would find the best cup of coffee in the world in Colombia’s Zona Cafetera. I found some of the tastiest beans in little vintage cafes with vintage coffee machines. The coffee plantations nearby offered tasting sessions too. Part of the fun Is to climb on the back of a colorful Jeep to get to the plantations.

On the Coffee Road, in the colorful town of Salento, the biggest attraction - besides the coffee and the arepas - is its traditional architecture of one- and two-story buildings, with walls painted white, and doors and window frames in the brightest of candy colors.

Namibia

I am never going to climb a sand dune again. I say that vehemently (many times) as I climb Dune 45.

After 50 long, sand-filled minutes taken to trudge up, here are the lessons learned: Take slow steps. Barefoot works best. One step forward will indeed feel like two steps backward. Don’t stop. Don’t get disheartened if a sprightly guide whizzes past you in an attempt to beat his own 10 minute record. When you have reached the peak and admired the view, scream a joyful “whee-eee” and slide down the side of the dune, marveling at the roaring sound of the minor avalanche that you will create. 

Ok, can we do that again? 

Nearby is Dead Vlei / Sossusvlei. It’s a kaleidoscope of yellow and orange sands and the white of the stunning vlei. Meanwhile, the oryx are vying with each other to position themselves strategically into my shots. They seem to have no issues with climbing dunes. Then again, I don’t see them doing any joyful slides down.

Don’t Stop

Parc del Sute is a peaceful green space in Catalonia, offering a tranquil escape for nature lovers. Surrounded by lush vegetation and serene walking paths, it’s perfect for a picnic, a jog, or simply relaxing in nature.
1. The park’s scenic walking trails are ideal for leisurely strolls or light exercise.
2. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy spotting birds and small animals in the area.
3. Picnic areas provide a perfect setting for a relaxing day out.
4. The peaceful surroundings make it a haven for unwinding away from the city.
5. Seasonal fires blooms and shaded paths create an inviting atmosphere year-round.

Parc del Sute

Pyrgos is a trendy hilltop medieval village. It’s full of little winding, narrow streets constructed haphazardly on the hills alongside multi-colored houses and doors. We lose our way several times and keep looping back to the same point .. using that as an excuse to check out yet another local art gallery constructed unobtrusively into the hillside. 

During the 15th and 16th century, the locals defended themselves from pirates by erecting kastelias .. fortified buildings. Pyrgos has the best example of these medieval buildings on the island. It also has the oldest churches.

We stop at a home with a large blue door .. and the views are stunning but give an impression that Santorini is flat and covered by vineyards instead of being a caldera. 

The one fascinating feature of homes here is a long, deep chimney for ventilation. And the strong winds make howling noises through the chimneys.

In Pyrgos, we visited vineyards ... but that’s a different story.
