This special experience takes you off the beaten path into the world of a truly local family in Lunlunta, Mendoza. For over 30 years, Juan Marcos Juricich — a softly spoken agronomist and beekeeper — has lived and worked on this small finca with his children, who now help him run the place. Upon arrival, you'll explore the estate with Federico, the youngest son and a winemaker who produces organic wine from grapes lovingly grown on the family plot. You'll sample his latest blends fresh from the tanks and, if you like what you taste, you can even bottle your own wine to take home. 

Through Federico, you will learn about Juan's storied beekeeping and organic honey production methods. There is a chance to try the honey and, depending on the season, hold the hives. To wrap up the experience, Federico will fire up the parrilla for a home-cooked asado, served under the trees with laughter, stories, and wine. This is not a show. Rise and shine: long before the sun makes its arrival over the valleys of Atacama Desert, you'll be on the road to one of the main gateways to the Andean highlands of Chile. This is a full-day photographic odyssey of some of the Atacama's most shocking natural wonders where you will contemplate important high-altitude ecosystems rich in biodiversity and cultural significance. These include the wetlands of Machuca and Putana, the Tatio Geyser, the Cactus Canyon, and the Puritama Hot Springs.

This experience is delivered by a professional photographer who will mentor you through the process of capturing the landscapes. As a private excursion focused on photography, the pace is slower than typical tours operating to these beauty spots. You will take your time at each destination and spend time perfecting your shooting skills and watching for wildlife. The activity concludes by bathing in the warm waters of the Puritama Thermal Springs. 

This experience stars one of the Atacama's most famous natural wonders and two of its hidden gems. Next, Eri explains the tools used in Japanese calligraphy, and you'll learn to make your own ink from an inkstone. After introducing the different writing styles, she’ll guide you in practicing the foundational strokes used in each.

After a short tea break, you'll choose a favorite Japanese character or word — something meaningful to you — which you'll practice, refining your technique under Eri’s expert instruction. At the end of the workshop, you’ll produce a finished work on handmade paper, a keepsake to display and reflect on long after your return home.

In Santorini, we discover and fall in love with Vinsanto, the local dessert wine. So we drive up to Hatzidakis - a charming and intimate local winery - to check out the local grapes. The vines grow low to the ground and close to the road and we almost drive into them while looking for parking. 

The grapes are grown in an unusual way, not in arbors but low to the ground, in baskets made of vine stalks themselves. They are organic and are watered mostly by dew as the island has low water supply.

The tasting room is cave-like and we take home several bottkes of the small batch Vinsanto they produce.

Tanzania

On a cool morning drive in Ngorongoro Crater, we meet a pride of eleven hungry lions —  lean and menacing. We stay with them for five hours through several hunting attempts .

One of the lionesses spots a herd of zebras. She masterfully rounds them up and sends them in the direction of her waiting pride. At the last minute though, the zebras, finding new energy or a brilliant leader, take a united front and flee. The zebras will live another day. 

Well, hello there! - say the lions to a group of wild buffaloes .. and quickly dissolve into the grass. The buffaloes can smell the lions. They start backing up and eventually escape. 

Next, the younger lions eye an ostrich In the distance. But it fluffs up its feathers with a disdainful air, and runs away.

Mobile food is awfully hard to get your paws on. The lions decide to lie in the grass and wait it out. Someone will come by. It’s just a matter of time.

Certosa di San Martino

Girona is a picturesque city with a rich history, known for its medieval Old Town, colorful riverfront, and well-preserved architecture. Whether you’re exploring the ancient walls or strolling along the Onyar River, the city is filled with charm and beauty.

Girona

Initially a medieval fortress, it now boasts the Renaissance grandeur of the Salone dei Cinquecento. A living testament to the city's political, artistic, and architectural evolution. Top reasons to visit:
1- The construction of Palazzo Vecchio, attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio, began in 1299. Built over the ruins of the Uberti Ghibelline towers and atop a Roman theater, the palace exemplifies the triumph of the Guelph faction. It has served as the seat of the city council, composed of the Guilds of Florence, and even housed Duke Walter VI of Brienne. The architectural design, initially severe and medieval, concealed sumptuous halls and residential apartments​​.
2 - Created during the Republic of Fra' Girolamo Savonarola in 1494, the Salone dei Cinquecento is the most significant room in Palazzo Vecchio. Originally basic and almost devoid of decoration, it was later chosen by Piero Soderini for grand murals by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti, depicting the Republic's victories. Although these works were never completed, their initiation marked a high point in Renaissance art. When the Medici returned to power in 1540, they transformed the Salone into a symbol of ducal authority. Giorgio Vasari was tasked with its renovation, elevating the ceiling and adding a coffered structure with forty-two panels. The room's decor glorified the Medici family, replacing the original allegory of Florence with a depiction of Duke Cosimo himself​​​​​​.
Palazzo Vecchio, located at Piazza della Signoria, Florence, is open to the public as a museum. It offers various guided tours, some specifically tailored for families with children. The mezzanine level houses the Loeser Collection, and the second floor features private apartments and chambers, including the original Hall of Priors and the Hall of Maps. Essaouira, Morocco, is home to the iconic Skala de la Ville, a historic fortification built in the 18th century to defend the city against maritime invasions. Stretching along the edge of the medina, the ramparts offer panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the bustling Port of Essaouira, and the distant Îles Purpuraires. Famous for its bronze cannons lined up along the sea wall, this scenic spot also served as a filming location for productions like Game of Thrones. A walk along the ramparts offers visitors a perfect blend of history, breathtaking views, and incredible photo opportunities.
