What is this?
This exclusive experience is your chance to sample the best of Madrid's high-end bar food and designer drinks. A stylish night out curated by someone who knows where to go, what to order, and when each place is at its best.
Madrid’s cocktail culture dates back about 100 years, to the opening of grand lounges modelled on Manhattan bars and Old English drawing rooms. Recent years also have seen the Spanish capital grow a new renown for some of the most dynamic and fashionable contemporary cocktail bars in Europe – many of them clustered close together around the city centre.
This tour ranges from rooftop perches overlooking the Madrid skyline to exclusive basement bars designed by leading Spanish stylists, with signature cocktails by masters of their trade. Upon booking, your host will suggest a short list of standout bars—such as Cielo de Chicote, Devil’s Cut, Isa, Casa Suecia, or whichever is currently having its moment—so you can choose the two that match your taste and mood.
What makes this unique?
Your host is a long-time resident of the city, and author of the Louis Vuitton City Guide to Madrid. It is his business to know all the old and new players in the bar scene, and to stay up to date on the latest additions to local cocktail menus. He's the perfect guide to the city's food and drink, ready to order up the best these establishments have to offer, while sharing his personal insights and anecdotes on the city and its culture.
You might already know of some of the trendy spots—but in Stephen’s company, you’re assured of a perfect experience. From interiors designed for drama to cocktails made with rare infusions or regional spirits, each stop reveals a layer of Madrid’s evolving taste. And between sips, you’ll get a local’s read—and the kind of conversation and stories you'll remember—about what’s shaping the way Madrid eats, drinks, and gathers now.
What is the profile of the host?
