What is this?
Nestled in the heart of Santorini’s charming Megalochori village, this immersive experience takes place in a restored 1950s cave house—dug into volcanic rock and full of character. Hosts Paula and George welcome you into their “stone kitchen” to roll up your sleeves and take part in a hands-on preparation of a classic Greek feast, side by side with your hosts.
Guided by Paula and George, you’ll chop, roll, stir, and season while learning the stories behind time-honored recipes, from tzatziki to tomato fritters to melt-in-your-mouth main dishes. The menu changes with the seasons, and so does the energy—it’s part cooking lesson, part gathering.
As the aromas of your creations fill the air, the session culminates in a communal meal enjoyed under a pergola. The flavors of your labor are paired with local wines, creating connections and unforgettable memories. Paula and George created this experience as a way to bring people together—strangers at the start, cooking like family by the end.
What makes this unique?
This is a rare opportunity to cook in a traditional cave house in Santorini—a space that reflects the island’s architecture and way of life.
Paula introduces each dish, offering thoughtful insights into Greek culinary traditions and local ingredients. George, an expert chef with deep roots in the Peloponnese, guides you through each step—not from a recipe card, but from memory, family, and instinct. His approach is generous, precise, and deeply personal. Both are natural storytellers, drawing from backgrounds in hospitality and sailing to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where conversation flows easily—more like a gathering of friends than a cooking class.
This experience is exclusive—a shared activity limited in size to 8, held in an exquisite kitchen, and led by the hosts themselves. If you prefer a fully private version of this experience, check out Paula’s private experience offering on Fernwayer: "Private Table in A Stone Kitchen".
What is the profile of the host?

George, a skilled chef, brings his expertise to the kitchen, while Paula ensures every detail is perfect, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. For them, hosting is not just about food—it’s about sharing a piece of their life, offering an experience where flavors, stories, and laughter come together in true Greek spirit.
