This is a guided journey through the streets of Marrakesh, where storytelling and sacred geography meet. The experience combines live storytelling with a walking tour to the zaouias (shrines), celebrating the seven men who gave the city its nickname: The City of the Seven Saints.

Though non-Muslims cannot enter the shrines, the route winds through the neighborhoods that grew around them, where stories are shared just outside. This 2.5-hour cultural excursion takes you beyond the souvenir stores and into the minds of the makers. The majority of the experience is spent exploring Mendoza’s only artisan market where every single item is made at the hands of native communities and Mendocino families, often using methods passed down through the ages. Hosted by Julieta, a bilingual guide, you will have the opportunity to converse with craftspeople producing top-quality leather goods, gaucho apparel, handwoven crafts, and more. Every artisan has a story to share and this experience facilitates meaningful conversations that flow.

Julieta has also curated a leisurely stroll through the city's boutiques where she'll help you find thoughtful, authentic gifts that represent Mendoza's soul. Immerse yourself in the fragrant world of an aromatic and medicinal herbs farm nestled in the picturesque region of Alentejo, Portugal. This experience invites you to explore the sustainable practices of organic farming and gain insights into the use of Portuguese aromatic herbs. You'll witness the farm's commitment to biodiversity and regenerative agriculture, making it a haven not just for plants but for pollinators like bees. The farm is home to a century-old olive grove and more than 45 plant species, each with unique gastronomical and medicinal properties. 

Rute and João will teach you all about traditional harvesting and drying techniques, plucking herbs straight from the garden to smell, taste and make art with. After the farm tour, you’ll join a Cyanotype printmaking workshop (or similar activity in winter) allowing you to take home your own herbarium. Then sit down for a multi-course lunch based on traditional Alentejo recipes under a shady ash tree or in the cozy greenhouse.

The visit will begin by explaining the organic production method and the agricultural practices used in the farm. As visitors stroll by, they are invited to collect plants to smell and taste, whilst Rute talks about its medicinal properties and culinary uses. After touring the garden, we will visit the natural drying greenhouse, the plant processing room and finally the packaging and storage area. Then, the visitor will learn how to make a herbarium using the Cyanotype technique (or similar activity in winter). Afterwards, there will be a tasting in the middle of the field in a shady spot, of all the products produced on the farm. Fresh aromatic infusions, goat cheese from Alentejo with our endemic thyme (accompanied by our typical Alentejo bread), our honey, our Extra Virgin Olive Oil and our Penny royal or Lemon grass liqueurs.

The Herbs of Alentejo

With a passion for sustainable practices, they offer a wealth of knowledge about regenerative farming, beekeeping, and herb cultivation. Their commitment to ecological balance and community enrichment shines through every aspect of the farm. Their efforts have revitalized the landscape, ensuring that each plant thrives in harmony within Alentejo’s rich biodiversity.

Spoiler: this experience contains a lot of food. This 3-hour asado experience in Mendoza isn't a show, it's a rare opportunity to peek into how local families really live—and as you'll discover for yourself—food is at the forefront of the lifestyle. After being collected from your hotel, Julieta will take you to her usual neighborhood wine stores and local markets to pick up the essentials. As Julieta will tell you, part of the fun is choosing together.

Once at Julieta's home, you will partake in Argentina’s most iconic gathering: the family asado. Previa comes first— where drinks, snacks, and conversation are shared as music plays. Together, you will prepare the meat, chop the veggies, and sip wine while the embers do their thing. And after that? You will take it easy over the sacred ritual of sobremesa concluding with coffee, Fernet, and a homemade dessert. There is no need to rush and no script, just the joy of food, stories, and connection.

There is no idling around, no spectating, and absolutely no being waited on at this asado hosted at the private home of your host, Julieta. Starting with picking up ingredients and wine from unassuming neighborhood stores, you'll play a part in every step of the Argentine barbecue experience. This is a moderate 5.5-hour guided trek through diverse landscapes of Ouirgane Valley in the Atlas Mountains. Starting from the village of Marigha,, the trail ascends through terraced farmlands and pine forests to the village of Anraz. Here, you'll visit a modest yet historically significant Jewish synagogue, one of the few remaining in the region, reflecting the area's rich Jewish-Berber heritage. The journey continues through the serene village of Torort, offering insights into traditional Berber life and a glimpse into the villagers’ daily routine. 

A picnic lunch is enjoyed amidst this natural beauty, providing a moment to relax and absorb the surroundings. Along the way, you'll pass through groves of olives, almonds, walnuts, carob, apricots, and forests of willow, pine, larch, and juniper trees. The trek concludes as you return to Marigha, completing a loop that combines cultural exploration with the tranquility of the High Atlas landscape. 

This trek offers a rare glimpse into the intertwined histories of Jewish and Berber communities in the High Atlas Mountains. The synagogue in Anraz stands as a testament to a time when Jewish and Berber families lived side by side, sharing traditions and daily life. Your local guide, deeply familiar with the area's stories and families, enriches the experience with personal anecdotes and historical context.

Growing up on the city’s outskirts, it wasn’t until returning after time abroad that he saw it anew. “It was as a young and independent adult with an arts and architecture degree, and with the enthusiasm to explore — that I realized how beautiful, diverse, and interesting my city is.”
For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. That means talking to locals, walking unfamiliar routes, listening more than looking. “Lisbon isn’t just to be seen, but touched, smelled, and tasted.” It’s not a checklist—it’s a presence.
He also names two challenges: First, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods are deeply distinct—each like its own mini-city. “Lisbon is multidimensional. It cannot—and should not—be rushed.” Second, mass tourism threatens the local character he cherishes. Responsible travel, he says, is essential to preserve the culture.

But João’s Algarve is more textured—what he calls the “poetic Algarve.” He cites writers like Sofia de Melo Breyner Andresen and José Saramago, who captured the soul of the region in images of sunsets, fruit, wind, and silence. For João, the true essence of the Algarve lies in its sensory landscape and the stories attached to it.
“In my youth,” he recalls, “many people came here, to the Algarve, and my family—like many others—had small farms. I spent a lot of time working on these farms growing carob, figs, almonds, and olives.” These daily rituals shaped his relationship to the land. “Everybody knows the Algarve for its oranges,” he adds, 
remembering his family’s orchard. “I have good memories of my mother and my sister making lots of cakes—almond cakes, and sometimes orange cakes too.”
What João wants travelers to experience is that same connection: the gestures and flavors that tie people to place. “We still recognize these things—the tradition of fishing, the dry fruits, the rituals of picking and preparing. This is what I want travelers to connect with.”
Still, he knows it's not always simple. “The Algarve is quite diverse. It’s not just one story. A good connection to the people here is important. Travelers are interested in how we live, how we spend the day, what we do.” This itinerary is João’s answer to that challenge: an immersive route where nature, food, craft, and memory guide the pace.

Begin with three days in Barcelona, where Manila recommends focusing not on checklists but on rhythm: explore historic neighborhoods, check out design ateliers, sample Catalan cuisine, and seek out the quieter corners still alive with local tradition. | Head south into the wine country of Priorat, a lesser-known region with rolling hills and medieval villages. This itinerary reflects what Manila calls the “true essence of Catalonia” — a place of cultural pride, natural beauty, and distinct local identity. Manila first arrived in Barcelona more than two decades ago, while finishing her studies in Rome. She needed an internship for her thesis and chose Barcelona without expecting how quickly she’d feel at home.“Barcelona, 22 years ago, was a different place,” she says. “It was less cosmopolitan, more local. I remember wandering through narrow streets and finding tiny bars with real flamenco. It felt genuinely lived in.”
 “Tourism has definitely changed things,” she admits. “Places like La Rambla are overcrowded. Many locals have been pushed out by the rise in tourist rentals. But Catalans are proud of their traditions. They’ve started resisting these changes to preserve the city’s character.” That character is what Manila has grown to love. “I chose Barcelona because I felt an immediate connection. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the weather, the proximity to mountains and sea — it feels like home but also stretches me outside my comfort zone.” She relishes the contrast to her native Sicily. “I can take a train and be skiing in the Pyrenees in just over an hour. Where else do you get that?”
What keeps her in Barcelona is the balance of tradition and openness. “The cuisine, the olive groves, the vineyards — they remind me of southern Italy, but they’re uniquely Catalan.” And the city’s connectivity has made it easy to stay rooted while maintaining close ties to Italy. She speaks with admiration about the people: “Catalans are proud, resilient, and united. They have a strong sense of identity and community. Whether through demonstrations or cultural festivals, they come together. They’re efficient and organized, but also keep that relaxed Mediterranean vibe. It’s a unique combination.”
