On this experience, you’ll visit the family’s workshop and mulberry orchard to learn about the cyclical process of silk production—from raising the worms to spinning, weaving, and creating natural dyes. The Art of Oaxacan Silk

This tour accommodates a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 people. It includes transportation from the Reforma area of Oaxaca de Juarez and back, a unique tour of the mulberry orchard and silk workshop, and a demonstration of their artisanal process. An opportunity to spin your own silk and browse handmade silk, cotton, and wool creations is also included. A simple snack and drink will be provided.

We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, water, and your camera or phone if you'd like to take photos. If you would like to purchase any of the family's products, note that while they do accept credit cards, it's always a good idea to bring some Mexican pesos, as cash is often preferred. That said, there's no pressure to buy anything during this visit, apart from what is already included.

The Japanese art of visible mending is sashiko, a technique that combines the Japanese aesthetic of wabi sabi with the always en vogue concept of sustainable practices. In her charming studio among the winding streets of a western Tokyo neighborhood, your host Keiko has been practicing sashiko and teaching students from all over the world the techniques used to make beautiful patchwork on clothing and other textiles.

In this three-hour experience, you’ll enjoy making a Fernwayer exclusive sashiko pouch designed by Keiko as you chat with Keiko and learn about the fascinating art of sashiko mending. The pace of the workshop is relaxed to allow for plenty of one-on-one coaching, and there is a private experience option for those who want a truly exclusive experience. You’ll leave Keiko’s workshop with a comfortable grasp on sashiko techniques, and the tools and materials needed to continue practicing at home.

Keiko’s experience immerses you in the world of sashiko. By stitching visible repairs, you connect deeply with sashiko’s wabi-sabi philosophy. 

The workshop is geared toward intermediate crafters who wish to gain a deeper knowledge of this traditional Japanese craft. This is an exhilarating and demanding ascent to the Toubkal Refuge, starting from the village of Imlil. This demanding trek spans a total climb of 2500 meters (8,202 feet) to 3207 meters (10,522 feet) at the refuge, suitable for those with good fitness levels but does not require technical climbing skills. 

The trek passes the spiritual landmark of Sidi Chamarouch, a Muslim pilgrimage spot located in a very scenic place, before the steep climb to the refuge, set just below the summit of Mount Toubkal. Here, trekkers can enjoy a well-earned picnic lunch while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding High Atlas Mountains. 

This trek offers a challenging yet rewarding experience, providing both a sense of accomplishment and spectacular scenic beauty. This full-day trek typically taking about 8 hours. However, the pace depends on your comfort, and Ahmed's team will ensure the group moves at a speed that suits you.

remembering his family’s orchard. “I have good memories of my mother and my sister making lots of cakes—almond cakes, and sometimes orange cakes too.”

Enchanted: Lokrum Island

San Spiridione Church is a testament to the city's multiculturalism. This magnificent Serbian Orthodox church, dedicated to Saint Spyridon, a Greek Cypriot saint, showcases a splendid Byzantine style that dates back to 1869, reflecting the city's unique position at the crossroads of Europe's major ethnic and religious communities. Top highlights:
1 - The church's striking appearance, with its multi-domed structure, captures the essence of Byzantine architecture. Constructed from pearly white Istrian stone, the large central dome is flanked by four hemispherical cupolas. The front façade is adorned with nine statues by Milanese artist Emilio Bisi, each contributing to the church's grandeur and artistic significance.
2 - The interior of San Spiridione is a realm of tranquility and beauty. The iconostasis, adorned with mid-nineteenth-century icons painted in Moscow and later covered in pure silver and gold plate, signifies the church's historical and spiritual depth. 
3 - Highlights include a votive vigil lamp gifted by Paul I of Russia, a stunning crucifixion at the altar, and a shroud made in 1772 in gold embroidery on silk velvet canvas. These pieces, alongside valuable candleholders and a mysterious sword believed to be a gift from Maximilian, Archduke of Austria, add layers of intrigue and splendor. Look for candleholders donated by Risto Škuljević, a ship owner and philanthropist, and numerous other items of significant religious, historical, and artistic importance.

We also recommend visiting the Salt Museum of Saline Culcasi, located in the Nubia district, this museum is a vivid testament to the harmonious relationship between the sea and the land. 
4: Panoramic Views: The salt pans offer mesmerizing views, especially at sunset when the sky and water transform into a palette of vivid colors. The blend of nature and craftsmanship makes for an unforgettable sight.

Marsala Salt Pans

Mexico City, Mexico, is home to Templo Mayor, the heart of the ancient Aztec capital, Tenochtitlán. Discovered beneath the Zócalo (main square) in the 1970s, this archaeological site and museum showcases the remains of the Aztecs' most sacred temple, dedicated to Huitzilopochtli (god of war) and Tlaloc (god of rain). Porto Cathedral, a magnificent structure standing tall in the heart of Porto, Portugal, is an embodiment of architectural evolution and religious significance. This cathedral, known for its blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, offers not only spiritual solace but also stunning views of the city. Top 5 highlights:

1. Porto Cathedral is a striking example of the transition from Romanesque to Gothic architecture. Its sturdy Romanesque roots are complemented by later Gothic embellishments, including intricate rose windows and elegant cloisters. Finland

At Riisitunturi National Park, ancient trees enveloped in layers of sticky snow (called ‘tykky’ in Finnish) assume fantastical shapes of monsters, ghosts, birds and families of snow people. On days like this, when sunrise and sunset happen within a two-hour window, backgrounds are brushed in pinks and yellows, and foregrounds etched with tracks of reindeer, dogs and humans. 

Snow is something more than frozen water to the Sami people. It’s a way of expressing the basis of their existence.

Best time to visit? Late December to March. Getting there from Rovaniemi takes more than 2 hours each way, but the trails are easy - we did a 4 km.

Visiting Western Australia's Nambung National Park and the Pinnacles Desert is a must.

Located at the southern gateway to Australia's Coral Coast, along the Indian Ocean Drive, the Pinnacles Desert of Nambung National Park is one of the major natural attractions in the region and are Western Australia's most visited attractions.

The park is located roughly 200km, or 2 hours' drive north of Perth, and covers an area of 17,487 hectares providing natural habitat for an extensive array of native animals and bird life.

The Pinnacles are amazing natural limestone structures, formed approximately 25,000 to 30,000 years ago after the sea receded and left deposits of sea shells. Over time, coastal winds removed the surrounding sand, leaving the pillars exposed to the elements. The Pinnacles range in height and dimension - some stand as high as 3.5m!

Mexico City, Mexico, is home to the vibrant Coyoacán Neighborhood, a bohemian district known for its cobblestone streets, colorful colonial architecture, and rich artistic history. Once a rural village, Coyoacán has retained its small-town charm despite being part of the sprawling capital. It’s famously associated with Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, whose legacies are deeply embedded in the neighborhood’s cultural fabric. Today, it’s a lively hub for art lovers, foodies, and anyone seeking a more relaxed, authentic side of Mexico City.


1. Visit the iconic Frida Kahlo Museum (La Casa Azul), where the legendary artist was born and lived, showcasing her personal artifacts, paintings, and studio space.

2. Explore the Jardín Centenario and Plaza Hidalgo, the neighborhood’s central squares, surrounded by vibrant markets, cafés, and stunning colonial-era churches like San Juan Bautista.
