This is a moderately challenging private trek to the revered Muslim shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, starting from Imlil. This trek takes you through the traditional village of Aremd and ascends to 2350m (7710ft) at Sidi Chamarouch, positioned by a picturesque waterfall. 

While the shrine itself is not accessible to non-Muslims, the area around it offers a peaceful reflective spot for a picnic and stunning views across the Atlas Mountains and up towards the summit of Toubkal. Overall, the Sidi Chamarouch trek offers a profound glimpse into the Amazigh (Berber) spirituality, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the region’s cultural tapestry.  

On this trek, you'll follow the same scenic route both to and from Sidi Chamarouch as it's part of the trail leading to the Toubkal Summit. Whether you love to cook or simply appreciate the subtle flavors of Japanese cuisine, this private experience hosted by a Kyoto chef will satisfy your curiosity about the world of dashi, the foundational ingredient in most Japanese dishes. Hosted in his intimate restaurant, Chef Toshihiko Yamamoto will explain the history and importance of dashi in Japanese cooking while together, you prepare a fresh batch of dashi to use for an exquisite meal. You will shave the dried bonito into flakes and boil it with kombu kelp into a broth rich with umami flavor.

Next, Chef Yamamoto will prepare a special meal with a little help from you, creating Western-Japanese fusion dishes to show how easily dashi can be used as an ingredient to your own style of cuisine. As he prepares the meal, feel free to ask questions or take photos and video of the process. After the meal, the chef will prepare a bowl of matcha in the style of Omotesenke tea cermony, the perfect way to wrap up this unique experience.

With nearly a decade's experience working for a dashi company and years as a chef specializing in Italian cuisine, Chef Yamamoto brings a new perspective to the use of Japanese dashi in cuisine from other parts of the world. Rather than focusing solely on traditional Japanese dishes, he will show you how dashi can be used to creatively season other dishes, from wagyu beef to fried cheese.

This interactive experience allows you to participate in the dashi making process while getting a close-up view of a Japanese chef preparing a special private meal in his own restaurant. Hosted by an architect, this full-day excursion analyzes Santiago’s preserved pre-colonial grid and the strategic placement of a city within a natural basin. Marco Secchi is a Venetian, English-speaking, award-winning editorial and travel photographer, renowned for his work with Getty Images and his expertise in visual storytelling. There is no better guide and mentor than Marco for this experience.

The experience begins Luca’s family home in the heart of Mamoiada. After a brief introduction in this 19th-century house, you’ll head to the vineyard just outside the village—a landscape shaped by vines, granite, and centuries of tradition.

There, among Cannonau rows and sweeping hills, stands a nuraghe: a prehistoric stone tower built by Sardinia’s ancient people, still intact after thousands of years. Beside it is a small farmhouse and a wooden patio overlooking the vines—your table for a guided tasting of three wines, including Luca’s rare Cannonau Bianco, made from an ancient cross between Cannonau and Gallòpu.

This white grape, known as Gallòpu, is now produced only by Luca in all of Barbagia. The tasting is followed by a traditional lunch: local appetizers, handmade ravioli with ragù, and slow-cooked sheep stew—a moment of pure Sardinian depth.

Luca is the only winemaker in Barbagia producing Gallòpu, an ancient white grape once nearly lost. His Cannonau Bianco is not just rare—it’s a symbol of his vision: to innovate without erasing the past, to make wines that speak both of place and of intention.

Alongside him is his father, who still tends the vines with the same hands that shaped them decades ago. Their work isn’t rushed; it follows the rhythm of the soil, the altitude, the granite. The vineyard and the house have a quiet presence and a timeless feel—places that hold memory without needing to speak it. And when you look up from your glass, the view over Mamoiada’s vineyards says more than words can.

Luca Gungui is a winemaker and native of Mamoiada, a small village in the heart of Sardinia where wine is a family tradition and a way of life. He represents the third generation of a lineage rooted in this land, where viticulture is passed down like a story. After years of working in communication, Luca chose to return to his origins and dedicate himself fully to wine, blending modern sensibility with deep respect for ancestral knowledge.

He produces his wines from native Sardinian varieties grown in high-altitude vineyards between 500 and 850 meters above sea level. His work is guided by the belief that each bottle can carry the memory of the people, places, and traditions that shaped it. Hosting guests in his family’s 19th-century home and his vineyards, he shares not only wine, but a living connection to Mamoiada’s soul.

As evening washes over Lima, experience a quieter, more atmospheric side of the city at the remarkable site of Huaca Pucllana — a pyramid dedicated to the sea, the moon, and feminine forces. With a former site interpreter as your companion, you’ll explore this pre-Inca ceremonial center after the daytime crowds have faded. Built more than 1,500 years ago, this pyramid complex rises in layered adobe terraces at the heart of Lima's modern Miraflores district and feels especially mystical at night.

As you walk the ancient pathways, Mila reveals how priests, traders, and artisans once animated this sacred place. She explains how the distinctive adobe “bookshelf” construction helped the pyramids endure earthquakes and discusses the rituals and daily rhythms that once shaped life here. After exploring the ruins at a leisurely pace, you'll settle down for an authentic Peruvian dinner with Mila at the acclaimed Huaca Pucllana Restaurant, with the illuminated pyramid as your backdrop.

Huaca Pucllana stuns at any time of day, but experiencing it at night transforms the site entirely. As the pyramid glows against Lima’s evening sky and urban noise quiets, the ancient sanctuary feels more mysterious and closer to the culture it once belonged to. As a former site guide at Huaca Pucllana, Mila spent years sharing the site’s stories with visitors and studying its evolving archaeological discoveries. Her insider knowledge and continued study take you beyond the usual tour, uncovering interpretations few travelers hear. Some recent interpretations suggest Huaca Pucllana may even have been used at night.

Milagro Campos Llontop, Mila, is a Lima-based cultural guide, artist, and educator with over ten years of experience in heritage interpretation and socially responsible tourism. She studied Drawing and Painting at the National School of Fine Arts of Lima and holds a specialization in Sustainable Tourism.

She has worked at several museums and archaeological sites across Lima as a local guide and educational program designer and is one of the few official tour guides in the city specializing in Indigenous Folk Art. In 2022, Mila founded an Indigenous art experience project in collaboration with master women artisans from the Shipibo-Konibo Amazonian community based in Lima. Working directly with the president of the community, the project supports cultural revitalization and generates direct economic income for more than 200 master women artisans.

So amid the current situation of the world myself and two other friends managed to score flights to Colorado for $47. We rented a Jeep and decided to travel all around Colorado. This was my first time ever out west as I am an eastern girl! 

If you are ever able to visit Maroon Bells please do! Preferably at night so that you can watch the sun set over the mountain top! The sound coming from the small river combined with the smell of fresh air made me want to pitch a tent and never leave! The weather was not as cold as I expected. I was hoping to see more wild life but besides a few ducks there was none. I still had a fantastic time.
