For over four decades, Francesco has been creating intricate jewelry by hand, blending traditional Sardinian designs with his own contemporary vision. His work reflects a deep respect for heritage, technique, and the quiet beauty of craftsmanship passed down through generations.

Greece

Your adventure begins with a leisurely uphill walk from Nafplio’s Old City to the historic summit of Acronafplia. This 3-km walk, suitable for all fitness levels, takes you through charming cobblestone alleys and stepped roads, flanked by medieval walls. Acronafplia is the oldest of Nafplio’s fortifications, with layers built by the Byzantines, Franks, Venetians, and Ottomans—so you'll walk through centuries of history.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Argolic Gulf and pass through a "forest" of prickly pears. At the summit, you’ll arrive at the oldest part of Nafplio and meet local Sifu and Kung Fu master Sofia Kougia, who will guide you through a calming tai chi session that promotes relaxation and mindfulness through slow, flowing movements.

Sofia Kougia is a Kung Fu Master, Tai Chi instructor, and certified yoga teacher. She also leads meditation sessions and practices Qi Gong, providing her students with a wellness experience centered around ancient practices she has studied and explored for years. Sofia has studied Sociology and was awarded world champion status with the Greek National Kung Fu team in 2008.

This is a walking tour that explores how Barcelona city planning is shaping the future of urban living. Although Barcelona is renowned for its historical architecture, it is certainly not a museum. The transformation of Barcelona into a ‘smart city’ is best exemplified in the 22@/Poblenou neighborhood. This area features urban landscaping, bold new civic structures and museums, and cutting-edge projects from top local and international architects, together forming a futuristic cityscape. We meet at the largest purpose-built design museum in the world and start our journey from there. This 3-hour cooking class teaches you how to make Argentine empanadas in the home of a local couple in Buenos Aires. This being a ‘chill trip’, we did not want to hike 10 hours on a glacier. Instead we trek on the Vatnajokull glacier looking for ice caves with wind on our face and ice under our feet.

Earlier, we woke up at 7 and drive in cold and windy January to Skaftafell National Park to meet Einar, our guide. 

This cave... like others ... started forming In August but you are never sure it will be stable to explore till later. In September, the loose ceiling collapsed  and this brilliant cave was formed.

These fragile and transitory structure require constant maintenance from falling rock and melting icicles. Einer enters the cave and spots a few boulders on the roof. He removes them to prevent harm to the cave and us. 

As we move around, the cave looks different as our viewing angle and the sunlight outside changes.

We are in complete awe ... and hungry. Luckily a steaming meal of lamb and potatoes is close by.

Ice Caving

The Guadalquivir River Walk in Seville offers a peaceful yet vibrant way to experience the city’s charm while enjoying scenic views along one of Spain’s most historic rivers. 3. Parque de María Luisa: Along the river, you'll find this lush park, perfect for a rest amidst palm trees, fountains, and beautiful gardens. Nearby is the iconic Plaza de España, another must-see.

4. River Cruises and Water Activities: If walking isn’t enough, hop on a riverboat cruise for a different perspective of the city. Alternatively, rent a kayak or paddleboard for a more active experience on the water.

Tip: Visit during sunset for a magical atmosphere, as the golden light reflects off the water, providing perfect photo opportunities.

Guadalquivir River Walk

In Santorini, we discover and fall in love with Vinsanto, the local dessert wine. So we drive up to Hatzidakis - a charming and intimate local winery - to check out the local grapes. The vines grow low to the ground and close to the road and we almost drive into them while looking for parking. 

The grapes are grown in an unusual way, not in arbors but low to the ground, in baskets made of vine stalks themselves. They are organic and are watered mostly by dew as the island has low water supply.

The tasting room is cave-like and we take home several bottkes of the small batch Vinsanto they produce.

Ponta da Piedade is easily accessible from Lagos, either by foot, car, or during summer, by a tourist train.
