What is this?

The art scene of Mexico City (CDMX) is more than just its legendary murals and surrealism. It has a strong tradition in contemporary and experimental art, bolstered by its status as a leading global cultural hub. This is one of the reasons why Mexico City is home to countless artist studios and renowned galleries. Anchored in Corredor Cultural Roma Condesa, you visit the studios of three respected CDMX-based artists and get to know a couple of trending galleries in the city. Each artist talks about how they work: where ideas come from, the techniques they use, and how a piece takes shape. It's often a view of the creative process that a gallery wall can't give you. Hosted by Bruno, an internationally exhibited painter who comes from a long lineage of Mexico City artists, you learn how the city's art scene reflects its complex social and cultural evolution, and how art is a vital part of Mexican identity. You also have the opportunity to browse original works available for purchase.

What makes this unique?

This is an effective way to immerse in Mexico City’s contemporary art scene. Going beyond typical headline names and styles, this is an essential tour for anyone wanting to get a sense of Mexico’s living art scene and works by established and rising talents. Bruno is an artist with deep roots in CDMX coming from a lineage of local artists. He ensures you gain both professional and personal insight into Mexico City’s art scene. Finally, the studio visit connects you directly with practicing artists and their work. You gain an understanding of the creative process behind contemporary Mexican art, from conceptual inspiration to techniques that define their work. All artists and galleries featured showcase exceptional creativity and are attentive hosts who enjoy sharing details about their work. Any work you choose to buy comes straight from the artist's studio, with no gallery fees. And because each artist is compensated for their time with you, there's never any pressure to buy.
