This photography experience takes you front and backstage at an iconic tango show in the San Telmo district of Buenos Aires. Hosted by a professional photographer, the activity starts with an introductory talk in a San Telmo cafe where you'll learn about the camera settings and techniques required for shooting moving objects in low light. After this, you will walk a short distance to the theater where the rest of the evening plays out over photography, art, dance, and conversation.

Once seated at a premium table with a clear view of the stage, you will photograph the dancers and orchestra without obstructions. Premium beverages and ice cream is served during the show, while Bernardo mentors you through the photography and shares cultural insights into tango culture. At a convenient moment, you will access the backstage area for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and photograph the tango dancers while they prepare their make-up and costumes ahead the show.

This rare-access experience immerses you in the passion and art of a Buenos Aires tango show. You’ll pause for a coffee and light snack at a traditional café before continuing to Baixa, where Vos will uncover how homes and livelihoods were rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake. Then, you’ll climb into Bairro Alto to visit a convent once reserved for noble girls, a living reminder of women’s devotion and confinement through the centuries. The walk concludes in Santa Catarina, at one of Lisbon’s most beautiful viewpoints, where you can reflect on this new lens of history.

Behind the many kings, explorers, and historic monuments are the women who kept Lisbon running, yet never made the history books. Morocco

This is a full-day guided trek through the High Atlas Mountains, starting and ending in the village of Imlil. Your journey begins with a gradual climb through Tamatert, a quiet mountain village with stone homes and terraced fields, before reaching the Tidli Plateau at 2,350 meters. This wide-open ridge offers stunning 360° views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, often with no one else in sight. The trail then continues to the Isk Summit at 2,500 meters, offering even more expansive vistas, including sights of Mount Toubkal. 

Afterward, the path continues downhill past terraced farmland and the peaceful Amadin Waterfall—an ideal spot to rest your legs and soak in the mountain air. You’ll then pass through the sleepy village of Achain before returning to Imlil by late afternoon. The best part of the Golden Circle circuit, Thingvellir National Park has hiking trails, waterfalls, summer cottages for the affluent (singer Björk has a home) and the Silfra fissure divers can explore between the American and Euroasian tectonic plates.

In the heart of Fes, the Chouara and Sidi Moussa tanneries stand as enduring relics of the Middle Ages, their practices largely unchanged since that era. Here, the ancient art of leather tanning transforms raw hides into beautifully supple fabrics through a strikingly colorful yet arduous process. As you navigate the narrow alleys leading to the tanneries, the air grows thick with a pungent aroma, a hallmark of this traditional craft. Things to look for:

1. The Chouara Tannery, perhaps the most famous in Fes, alongside Sidi Moussa, offers a rare glimpse into the labor-intensive process of leather production. Hundreds of workers from multiple generations of families toil from sunrise to sunset. They labor over open vats filled with a vivid mosaic of natural dyes and pigeon dung, an essential component in softening the leather. This spectacle of color and effort unfolds beneath the Moroccan sun, casting a palette that feels almost surreal against the earthy tones of the Medina.

2. Visitors are handed a sprig of mint to ward off the overwhelming smells. The sensory overload is part of the experience!

This narrow, bustling thoroughfare is more than just a road—it’s a journey through Naples’ rich history, culture, and daily life. Lined with centuries-old churches, artisan shops, street food stalls, and vibrant local markets, Spaccanapoli captures the spirit of the city. Its name, which means “Naples-splitter,” reflects how the street divides the historic core, offering visitors an immersive experience of Neapolitan traditions and modern vitality.

1. Along the street, historic landmarks like the Church of Santa Chiara and San Domenico Maggiore showcase Gothic and Baroque architectural beauty. These iconic sites are must-sees for lovers of art and history.

Spaccanapoli

This was my first time visiting Gigantes Islands, and I was struck by the raw beauty of its cliffs and crystal-clear waters that surround its secluded beaches. There are several islands that you can hop in to and my favorite one is what the locals call the “mini boracay” because the sand sure feels like that in Boracay. Other islands are as equally awesome like the Bantigue sandbar, and Cabugay. We also explored the local neighborhood and sure has its own interesting stories. For one, I discovered that due to the abundance of scallops in the island, there’s a neighborhood that stands on a land area that’s made up of scallop shells that is meters thick! Just imagine how much scallops shells that would’ve taken. There’s a lot to explore but if you just want something that’s relaxed, you can just have a good beer by the beach from sunset til night.
