The Venice Carnevale has deep-rooted origins dating back to the era of the "Serenissima." A sensory-rich journey through three of Barcelona's most iconic markets: Sant Antoni, La Boqueria, and Santa Caterina. You’ll begin at Sant Antoni Market, a hub of local produce and diverse culinary offerings, notable for its unique creation from the merger of three markets. Here, you'll encounter an array of local products and the warm hospitality of the vendors. Next, you’ll visit the world-renowned La Boquería, near La Rambla, famous for its exotic fruits, freshly cured meats, and seafood display. Growing up on the city’s outskirts, it wasn’t until returning after time abroad that he saw it anew. “It was as a young and independent adult with an arts and architecture degree, and with the enthusiasm to explore — that I realized how beautiful, diverse, and interesting my city is.”
For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. That means talking to locals, walking unfamiliar routes, listening more than looking. “Lisbon isn’t just to be seen, but touched, smelled, and tasted.” It’s not a checklist—it’s a presence.
He also names two challenges: First, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods are deeply distinct—each like its own mini-city. “Lisbon is multidimensional. It cannot—and should not—be rushed.” Second, mass tourism threatens the local character he cherishes. Responsible travel, he says, is essential to preserve the culture.

The hiking trail from Fira to Oia is one of Santorini’s most iconic experiences, offering a breathtaking journey through stunning landscapes, traditional villages, and dramatic caldera views. This 10-kilometer (6-mile) trail connects two of the island’s most picturesque towns and immerses you in Santorini’s natural beauty and charm. Whether you’re chasing sunrise or sunset, the trail is a must for adventurers and photography enthusiasts. 
1. Spectacular Caldera Views accompany you throughout the hike, with endless vistas of whitewashed villages perched on cliffs and the sparkling Aegean Sea below. 
2. Pass through traditional villages like Firostefani and Imerovigli, where you can admire charming Cycladic architecture and tranquil chapels.

Hiking Trail from Fira to Oia

The Bonneville Salt Flats are not to be missed! A slight detour off I-80 near the UT/NV is a moon-like alternate universe not to be missed. Go for a quick run through the salt flats or just stop for a quick photo op or picnic!

Running On The Moon (UT)

Patagonia – the land where the earth ends – must be one of the most unique places to visit in this world. I definitely felt this way, when I visited the glaciers, mountains, and rivers around. It’s a stunning place, and even though it’s quite hard to get there, the whole trip is completely worthwhile.

Patagonian hares, hawks, red foxes, geese, black-necked swans, flamingos, woodpeckers, skunks, pumas, condors, and the near extinct huemul deer – this place is for nature lovers. We’ve spent 1 month in Patagonia, exploring the fauna and flora, zipping warm chocolate next to the chimney of our bed and breakfast, and breathing the fresh air.

Save packing lightly for another trip – visiting the snowy landscape in Southern Argentina, you want to come as prepared as possible. Scarves, gloves, a winter jacket, boots, and lots of exchange clothes are a must.

Visit a rare phenomenon

The Triana neighborhood in Seville is a vibrant and culturally rich district that feels like a city within a city. Located across the Guadalquivir River, just a short walk from the historic center, Triana has long been known for its strong ties to Seville’s ceramic artistry and flamenco culture. Strolling through its colorful streets, you’ll discover centuries-old pottery traditions, lively taverns, and a deep sense of community that makes it one of the most authentic parts of Seville.

1. Calle San Jorge and Ceramic Shops: Triana is renowned for its ceramics, with a history that dates back to Roman times. Known for its breathtaking beauty, Alqueva is a certified Dark Sky Reserve, providing one of the best stargazing experiences in Europe. Whether you’re looking to explore by boat, enjoy the surrounding traditional villages, or immerse yourself in the magic of a star-lit sky, Alqueva Lake is a hidden gem of natural and cultural beauty.

If you're looking for an unconventional neighborhood with art galleries, parks to hang out in, and lots of young, trendy people, Newtown is the place for you. I basically spend all my weekends there, drinking coffee, going to book clubs, working at the community kitchen Lentil as Anything, and having a beer at one of the lively bars at night. 

Australians love vintage – which makes Newtown the heaven for vintage clothes, cameras, vinyl records, and much more. I’ve got some new sandals, a polaroid camera, and jewelry, all unique pieces at an amazing price. Worth the hype!

You can easily get there by train, it's just a ride from Town Hall, or simply stay a few days in one of the hostels in Newtown.
