The Torre del Oro (Tower of Gold) is one of Seville’s most iconic landmarks, situated along the banks of the Guadalquivir River. This 13th-century dodecagonal tower was originally built by the Almohads as a military watchtower and was later used to control access to the river. Its name, “Tower of Gold,” is believed to stem from the golden gleam it once reflected off the river or possibly from the gold brought from the New World that was stored in its vaults. Today, the Torre del Oro is a maritime museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Seville's rich naval history.

This city known for its wine is just gorgeous. Though hot in summer, it is stunning! Definitely worth a visit and if you have time the surroundings small town also known for their wine. 

In Bordeaux, be sure to walk down rue sainte Catherine, the longest pedestrian street in Europe! There will be plenty of shopping to do, and the main square with the cathedral is also a must see. The bell tower is not attached to the church and is able to be climbed for gorgeous views.

The Generalife Palace, located in the Alhambra complex in Granada, Spain, is a stunning example of Islamic architecture and one of the most beautiful parts of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally built in the 13th century as a summer palace and retreat for the Nasrid sultans, the Generalife is renowned for its lush gardens, tranquil courtyards, and spectacular views of Granada and the surrounding mountains. Its name, derived from Arabic, means “Garden of the Architect,” reflecting its harmonious blend of architecture and nature.

1. Patio de la Acequia: This stunning courtyard is the heart of the Generalife. With a long central pool framed by water jets, fountains, flowerbeds, and lush greenery, it exemplifies the traditional Moorish use of water to create a peaceful atmosphere. The sounds of running water combined with the vibrant gardens make it a serene spot for reflection.

2. Jardines del Generalife: The gardens surrounding the palace are an oasis of greenery and tranquility. These meticulously designed gardens feature elegant paths, clipped hedges, rose bushes, and orange trees. 4. Views of the Alhambra and Granada: From various points in the Generalife, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Alhambra Palace, with its red stone walls, as well as panoramic views of Granada and the distant mountains. It’s the perfect place to take in the surrounding landscape.
