In the heart of the historic centre, fearless riders gallop through the narrow stone-paved streets in a daring race known as Sa Carrela ‘e Nanti.

The highlight? A centuries-old ritual where horsemen aim to strike two cloth hens hanging along the route, blending athletic skill and ancient folklore. You’ll be guided by an expert photographer who helps you capture the energy and beauty of the event, while introducing you to locals who’ve lived this tradition since childhood. Located about 7 kilometers from Venice, a 25 minute water taxi (to be arranged via your Venice hotel) or a 40-minute vaporetto (water bus) ride can transport you to this picturesque locale from Venice. Historically, Burano was a fishing village, and this heritage is evident in its culture and cuisine, with seafood being a prominent feature in local dishes.  You can also stay overnight at Venissa or Casa Burano. It's amazing to wake up early on the island before the tourists get here and wander around.

DAY 7 – ELAFONISSOS | In the morning, you drive to the coast and take a short ferry to Elafonissos. The shift in scale is immediate, from fortified town to open shoreline. The day is left unstructured, shaped by water, light, and rest.

The Temple of Debod is an authentic ancient Egyptian temple nestled in the heart of Madrid. This architectural marvel, dating back to the 2nd century BC, was originally constructed in Egypt but now stands as a striking monument in Madrid's Parque del Oeste. The temple was a gift from Egypt to Spain in 1968, symbolizing gratitude for Spain's assistance in saving the Abu Simbel temples during the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Top 5 Things to know:
1. The Temple of Debod was initially built by the Kushite king Adikhalamani in Nubia, close to the religious center dedicated to the goddess Isis. It was dedicated to the Egyptian god Amun and later expanded and dedicated to Isis during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods.
2. Throughout its history, the temple underwent several expansions and renovations. Prominent Roman emperors such as Augustus and Tiberius completed its decorations, adding to its historical and artistic significance.
3. In 1960, due to the Aswan High Dam's construction, UNESCO made an international call to save several historical monuments. As a token of gratitude for Spain's aid, Egypt gifted the Temple of Debod to Spain. It was meticulously dismantled, transported, and reconstructed in Madrid's Parque del Oeste, opening to the public in 1972.
4. The temple, surrounded by a pool of water, comprises three main reconstructed monuments. It retains its original stone-built enclosure wall, pylon gateways, and the sanctuary of Amun. The layout and decorations provide insight into ancient Egyptian religious practices and architectural styles.
5. The temple's continued exposure to the elements has been a subject of concern. In response, Madrid's city council decided in 2020 to accelerate plans to protect and preserve this unique historical monument.

Shibuya Crossing, or Shibuya Scramble Crossing, is a popular scramble crossing in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.[1] It is located in front of the Shibuya Station Hachikō exit and stops vehicles in all directions to allow pedestrians to inundate the entire intersection. The statue of Hachikō, between the station and the intersection, is a common meeting place and almost always crowded.

Three large TV screens mounted on nearby buildings overlook the crossing, as well as many advertising signs. The Starbucks store overlooking the crossing is also one of the busiest in the world. Its heavy traffic and inundation of advertising have led to it being compared to the Times Square intersection in New York City and Piccadilly Circus intersection in London.
