At OHA, a tea specialist with a deep knowledge of Mexican botanicals will guide you through a tasting of four hand-selected teas and herbal infusions. They’ll share their passion for fresh, regional ingredients and how these flavors tell a story of place and wellbeing. Your final stop is Bar Mini, where a natural wine expert will pour you a glass of Mexican wine and explain the process and origins behind what’s in your glass.

Morocco

Explore the serene landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains with this accessible experience that begins in Imlil and gently ascends to the village of Aremd. The journey covers a 200m (656ft) climb over approximately an hour along mule tracks, leading to Aremd—the last village before the towering Toubkal summit. On April 5, 2026, join an emotional journey into the Easter traditions of Bosa, one of Italy's most picturesque little towns. Its typical colorful houses give it an extraordinary charm while its ancient architecture offers fascinating views at every turn. On Easter, you'll immerse into a deeply evocative experience that blends sacred and profane in an atmosphere of intense spirituality.

Led by a local expert and seasoned photographer, you will discover how the community of Bosa experiences Easter as part of a collective ritual that welcomes anyone who joins.The images you will take won’t be simple photographs but records of a strong sense of community and the bond between the locals and their traditions.
The ceremonies of Holy Week date back to the Middle Ages and are linked to the Spanish liturgy, as Spaniards dominated the island for a long time.

Joining the procession, you will observe symbols of faith and the emotional participation of the inhabitants. 

Bosa’s Easter celebration reaches its emotional peak with S’Incontru (The Encounter), a procession that takes place at dawn on Easter Sunday. Two separate processions begin their solemn journey—one carrying the statue of the Risen Christ, the other bearing the Virgin Mary dressed in black. As they wind through the town's narrow, historic streets, led by locals in traditional Sardinian attire, the atmosphere builds with anticipation. The climax unfolds in Bosa’s main square, where the statues meet in a symbolic reunion. 

At this profound moment, Mary’s black cloak is replaced with a bright blue mantle, representing the end of mourning and the joy of resurrection. The air fills with the haunting beauty of traditional Sardinian hymns known as gosos, sung by the local choir. Chile

This full-day experience immerses you in the Atacama's most dramatic scenery: its geysers, high-altitude wetlands, and volcanic highlands. Unlike most tours to El Tatio (Los Géisers del Tatio) which depart before dawn, Valeria's experience takes place once the crowds have thinned and the late-morning light draws out the remarkable hues of the minerals. Each song recounts tales of love, battles, and farewells, blending spoken word and melody. To add to the experience, Baver may sometimes accompany the singer with his Saz, a traditional string instrument from Turkey. To complete the evening, Baver’s mother will prepare a traditional Kurdish dinner, so guests can hear the stories of Kurdish culture but also taste its rich culinary heritage.

Granada, Spain, is home to the Monasterio de San Jerónimo, a stunning Renaissance monastery known for its exquisite cloisters, intricate altarpiece, and historical significance. Founded in the 16th century by the Catholic Monarchs, this monastery blends Gothic and Renaissance styles, making it one of the most architecturally impressive religious sites in Andalusia. It also holds a deep connection to Spanish history, as it was the final resting place of Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, the renowned general known as "El Gran Capitán."

1. The main cloister, surrounded by elegant archways and lush gardens, provides a peaceful retreat and showcases the harmony of Renaissance architecture.

2. Inside the church, an opulent altarpiece adorned with gold leaf and intricate carvings stands as one of the most spectacular in Spain, celebrating the military victories of El Gran Capitán.

Monasterio de San Jerónimo

Trieste, Italy, is home to the Risiera di San Sabba, a former rice mill turned Nazi concentration camp during World War II. As the only Nazi extermination camp in Italy, it serves as a chilling yet essential reminder of one of history’s darkest periods. Today, the site operates as a museum and memorial, honoring the thousands of political prisoners, partisans, and Jewish victims who were imprisoned, tortured, and deported from this location. Walking through the stark, somber complex offers a powerful and deeply moving experience.


1. At the entrance, a vast, empty courtyard evokes a haunting sense of history, where prisoners once stood before being interrogated or deported to Auschwitz and other camps. The atmosphere is solemn and reflective.

2. Inside the museum, exhibits display personal belongings, historical documents, and testimonies from survivors and victims, providing an in-depth look at the horrors that took place here.

3. In the remains of the former crematorium, visitors can see the chilling site where bodies were burned after executions. The original structure was destroyed by retreating Nazis in an attempt to hide evidence of their crimes.

4. Along the walls, prison cells used for interrogation and solitary confinement remain preserved, offering a stark reminder of the suffering endured by those who were held here.

5. The steel memorial sculpture, designed by architect Romano Boico, stands as a tribute to the victims, its cold, industrial design reflecting the brutal reality of the site’s past.

Visitor Tip: Visit with an open heart and allow time to reflect. The museum is free to enter, and audio guides are available to provide deeper historical context.

Risiera di San Sabba

Faroe Islands

I’m seduced by the untouched beauty and drama of the Faroe Islands. Driving into Tórshavn, I witness a rare Faroese sight.

The ocean is bright red. The beach is packed with onlookers. It’s a grindadráp, a pilot whale hunt. Heavily regulated, it’s being carried out with process perfected over millennia. A local couple points out their son to me, he is on one of the boats — “unless we send a boat, we won’t get our share of the whale meat.”

When a school of pilot whales is sighted, boats gather around and slowly drive them towards the chosen bay or beach, for it’s illegal to kill the whales in the open sea. This time, there are about two hundred of them. Every bit of them will be consumed or used — and none can be sold.

I’m shocked, outraged, fascinated, caught up in the excitement and terribly conflicted. As a traveler, I respect — and seek to understand — culture and tradition. And the Faroese are holding on to this one — as it symbolizes for them their relationship with the sea.

Culture Shock

Australia

Kakadu National Park is half the size of Switzerland and a real adventure. If you rent a car, you could drive along the road for weeks, camping in different places and experiencing nature in a way you can't anywhere else.

After leaving Darwin in a rented 4x4 jeep, we made the long drive to Kakadu National Park. Take plenty of drinks and snacks with you, as there aren't many stops on the road. Along the way, we visited several refreshing waterholes and waterfalls, had an open-air barbecue, and saw many birds, snakes, anthills, and farmland along the way.

At night we mostly stayed at campsites that provided tents, and the beauty of the night is incomparable. You can hear, smell, and see countless species of animals, from alligators swimming in lakes at night to dingoes howling, to weirdly chirping insects.

We hiked to a hidden waterfall and discovered some hundreds-of-years-old wooden paintings done by the ancestors of Australia's indigenous people. A must-see in Australia for sure!

Camping: Kakadu National Park

Pitti Palace, Florence's most significant palace, exemplifies the city's artistic and historical richness. Originally built by the Florentine banker Luca Pitti in the 15th century, it was acquired by the Medici family and became a symbol of their power. Top 5 highlights:
1 - The Palatine Gallery: Hosting an array of masterpieces by artists like Raphael, Titian, and Rubens, the Palatine Gallery is situated in the palace's state rooms. The artworks, arranged as part of the decor rather than chronologically, offer a unique insight into Renaissance and Baroque art styles.
2 - Gallery of Modern Art: Occupying the second floor, this gallery provides a comprehensive overview of 19th and early 20th-century Tuscan and Italian painting, including works from the Macchiaioli School. It is a testament to Italy's evolving artistic landscape, showcasing a chronological progression from Neoclassicism to the 1920s.
3 - Fashion and Costume Galleries: These galleries, added in 1983, display a vast collection of historical costumes and modern fashion, including works by renowned designers like Versace and Armani. The items, showcasing sartorial evolution from various centuries, are periodically rotated due to their delicate nature.
4 - Royal Apartments and Silver Museum: The royal apartments display opulence and Baroque styles from different eras, preserving the original furniture arrangements. The Silver Museum, located on the ground floor, houses a collection of precious metals, jewelry, and Medicis' treasures.
5 - Boboli Gardens: A magnificent example of classical European parks, the Boboli Gardens, dating back to the mid-16th century, provide a refreshing escape. Filled with sculptures, fountains, and breathtaking views of Florence, the gardens are an integral part of the Pitti Palace experience.
A quick tour of the palace's highlights and the main part of the Boboli Gardens takes about three hours.

Jamaica

In the mist-covered Blue Mountains of Jamaica lies the enchanting Holywell Park, a hidden gem that whispers stories of nature's wonders. Amidst the lush greenery, we embarked on a long walk with a local guide, seeking tranquility. We wandered through the verdant trails, each turn unveiling a canvas of vibrant ferns, towering trees, and melodious bird songs that filled the air.

Holywell Recreational Park, situated about 3,000 feet above sea level and roughly an hour's drive from Kingston, is a haven for nature enthusiasts. The park, part of the Blue and John Crow Mountains, is a lush sanctuary that boasts several species of ferns among other flora like wild raspberries, cheeseberries, epiphytes, nasturtiums, impatients, and notable trees including the Blue Mahoe (Jamaica’s national tree), Caribbean Pine, and Milkwood. The park also supports various species of endemic birds. It offers a range of trails with varying difficulties, from easy to moderate, and can take anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes to complete, providing an immersive nature experience amidst the cooler mountain temperatures.

Greece

Amfissa, Greece, is home to the Lion of Bavaria Monument, a lesser-known but historically significant statue that commemorates the close ties between Greece and Bavaria in the 19th century. Erected in 1836 by order of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, the monument honors the Bavarian soldiers who accompanied King Otto, the first modern king of Greece, following the country’s independence from the Ottoman Empire. Set against a peaceful natural backdrop, the lion stands as a symbol of strength, loyalty, and the enduring connection between the two nations.


1. The majestic stone-carved lion, resting in a solemn pose, represents the bravery and sacrifice of Bavarian soldiers who supported Greece’s early independence efforts.

2. The monument’s neoclassical design reflects the artistic styles of the 19th century and ties closely to both Greek and Bavarian cultural heritage.

Photography-Forward Itinerary for Ljubljana, Slovenia (4-6 Hours in the Afternoon)

Wander Through the Old Town (1:00 PM - 2:30 PM). Begin your afternoon with a stroll through Ljubljana's Old Town, focusing on Mestni trg (Town Square) and Stari trg (Old Square). Capture the vibrant street life, historic buildings, and charming shops. Look for interesting angles and compositions that showcase the blend of architectural styles.

Prešeren Square and Franciscan Church (2:45 PM - 3:30 PM). Visit Prešeren Square, the lively heart of Ljubljana, named after the famous Slovenian poet France Prešeren. Capture the beautiful architecture, the statue of Prešeren, and the iconic salmon-pink Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. The square and church offer excellent photo opportunities with their vibrant atmosphere and stunning architecture.

Ljubljana Castle (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM). Take the funicular ride to Ljubljana Castle for sunset. Capture panoramic views of the city and the surrounding Alps. The castle offers sweeping landscapes and intricate architectural details. The walk from the castle to Metelkova Mesto, including the cable car ride, can take around 20-30 minutes considering all waits and walking distances.

Metelkova Mesto (6:15 PM - 7:00 PM). End your day at Metelkova Mesto, an autonomous cultural center known for its vibrant street art and alternative scene. Capture the colorful murals and the lively atmosphere, and include the unique architecture and artistic details of the area.

Photo Walk 2: Ljubljana

The coastal towns near Begur, such as Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu, and Llafranc, offer some of the most picturesque seaside scenery in Catalonia. With charming whitewashed buildings, crystal-clear waters, and sandy coves, these towns are perfect for a relaxing getaway.
1. The beaches, surrounded by pine forests and cliffs, are ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
2. Coastal paths, like the Camí de Ronda, provide scenic hiking opportunities between coves.
3. The towns feature waterfront restaurants serving fresh seafood and local specialties.
4. Quiet harbors and traditional fishing boats add to the region’s charm.
5. The area’s laid-back vibe makes it an excellent destination for unwinding and enjoying the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Visitor Tip: Visit in the shoulder season (spring or fall) for fewer crowds and more tranquil beaches.

Coastal Towns Near Begur

Fruity, dry, red, white, sweet, sparkling — wine is delicious, and the best way to discover what this powerful potion has to offer is to take a bike tour through the vineyards (yes, on a bike). Mendoza is the best place to choose one of the hundreds of tour operators. 

Mendoza is the most popular wine-growing province in Argentina. And Bodega Tempus Alba has a perfect climate for growing high-quality grapes, and the majestic Andes Mountains provide the backdrop for some of the most beautiful pictures of vineyards to be found anywhere in the world.

Whether you're biking or not, a proper tasting tour will give you enough wine to come home tipsy. That's why I recommend eating well before your tour and taking a break when the magic of wine goes to your head.

I also spent some time hiking in the area, exploring the small villages in the area, and eating the best Argentine empanadas around. A trip for the senses, for sure.

Vineyards and boozy tours

Colombia

Nestled in the heart of the Priorat wine region, Falset is a small town surrounded by rolling vineyards and stunning mountain views. Known for its wine culture, it’s an ideal base for wine tasting tours or scenic bike rides through the countryside.
1. The town’s wine cellars, or “cellers,” offer tastings of the region’s famed red wines.
2. Cycling routes take you past terraced vineyards and picturesque landscapes.
3. Visit the Wine Museum to learn about the history and production of Priorat wines.
4. Local markets offer regional products such as olive oil and artisan cheeses.
5. The town’s peaceful charm makes it a great retreat from busy urban life.

Visitor Tip: Book a guided wine tour in advance to fully appreciate the local wine culture and scenic routes.

Falset (Priorat Wine Region)

Vlychada Beach on Santorini is a unique and serene destination, known for its dramatic lunar-like landscape and tranquil atmosphere. Located on the southern coast of the island, this beach is framed by towering white volcanic cliffs carved by the wind and sea, creating an otherworldly backdrop. Its soft gray sand and clear waters make it an ideal spot for relaxation, far from the bustling crowds of Santorini’s more famous beaches. 
1. The beach’s volcanic cliffs, sculpted into surreal shapes, are its defining feature, making it one of the most photogenic locations on the island. 
2. The soft gray volcanic sand and pebbles contrast beautifully with the azure waters of the Aegean Sea, offering a peaceful and natural setting for sunbathing. 
3. Calm and uncrowded, Vlychada Beach is perfect for those seeking a more tranquil experience compared to other Santorini beaches. 
4. A nearby marina with traditional fishing boats adds to the charm of the area and offers a glimpse into the island’s maritime culture. 
5. The beach is located close to the Santorini Arts Factory, a cultural hub with exhibitions and events celebrating local creativity and history. 
Visitor Tip: Plan to spend 2–3 hours at Vlychada Beach. Bring your own beach essentials, as amenities are limited, and consider staying for the sunset, which paints the cliffs in golden hues.
