Unlike the super-intensive olive groves common in the area, João's traditional approach relies solely on rainwater and eschews chemical use. This experience delves into the rich history of the farm and the meticulous process of olive oil production. This exploration of three lesser-known, evocative temple gardens in Kyoto offers a deep understanding of Japanese dry landscape design — where every stone, every line of raked gravel, carries meaning. Led by certified garden designer and author Ayumi Ikushima, the experience opens a thoughtful path into the philosophy and form of Zen gardens.

You’ll begin at the Crane and Turtle Garden where Ayumi introduces the foundational principles of Japanese garden design: symbolism, placement, interplay between nature and intention. 

A short walk takes you to a second temple where the garden reflects nature in miniature — a landscape composed to invite observation. You’ll learn to see and photograph the space mindfully.

Your final stop is a larger temple with a modern take on the tradition. A resident monk leads a meditation in view of the garden, offering how stillness and landscape are meant to interact. Then, you'll sit with Ayumi over tea and seasonal sweets to reflect and ask questions.

Photo Walk 2: Ljubljana

Porto is a city with a unique mystique! its old buildings, colorful houses, the particularity of its wines and the joy of its people, make it a must-see.
The most exciting thing about not planning my stay was getting lost to find myself in small places rich in gastronomy, flavors that I never experienced before, local markets with the best ambient and desserts that made every minute in this city worthwhile.
