What is this?

Discover a lesser-known yet equally majestic side of Anatolia's wildlife through the lens of your camera on this experience following the seasonal buffalo migration. Set in the picturesque Hurmetci Village, this photography experience offers a unique glimpse into the daily life and migration of over a thousand buffaloes, celebrated not just for their contribution to local dairy farming but also for their dramatic, peaceful migrations across the village landscapes. The ideal times for photographers are July and August when these gentle giants traverse lush fields and cross the rivers at dusk, creating perfect, golden-lit scenes. This experience is perfect for nature lovers, wildlife photography enthusiasts, and anyone keen to capture a slice of Anatolian rural life.

What makes this unique?

Unlike the perilous scenes depicted in wildlife documentaries, the buffalos of Hurmetci live in safety, away from predators, offering a tranquil and accessible viewing experience. Under the guidance of Nuri Çorbacıoğlu, a professional photographer and local expert, participants will learn to capture stunning visual narratives of these buffalos against the spectacular backdrop of Hurmetci's landscapes. Nuri brings an intimate knowledge of the best times and spots for capturing the buffalos in motion, ensuring that each participant can create powerful images. Moreover, this experience delves into the symbiotic relationship between the buffalos and local villagers, enriching your photographic journey with deeper storytelling elements about community and survival.
