What is this?

This food tour offers a fresh perspective on Madrid’s high-quality and creative culinary scene. It celebrates the art of tapeo — Madrid’s iconic way of dining, where sharing food with friends or family becomes a lively journey from bar to bar. Rooted in centuries-old tavern culture, tapeo continues to shape how Madrileños eat and gather today. The experience unfolds like a tasting menu, revealed across different stops along the way — a culinary journey through Madrid’s must-try dishes. From a whimsical, award-winning tapa disguised as breakfast — a delicate doughnut filled with rich oxtail stew, served with an intense “espresso” of broth — to smoky escabeche mussels paired with the city’s favorite aperitif: vermouth. The experience culminates with a much-talked-about dish: pork cutlet with soft-boiled egg and truffle, elegantly finished at the table and perfectly matched with selected Spanish reds. Your evening ends on a high note with a creamy Spanish cheesecake.

What makes this unique?

This gourmet tapas tour is essential if you want to try the very best of contemporary tapas that Madrid has to offer. Knowing where to find the most creative and flavorful dishes isn’t always easy. Your host is an expert foodie dedicated to discovering the most innovative and award-winning tapas restaurants — and the most exciting things to order there. You’ll explore Chamberí — an elegant district with traditional charm, 19th-century architecture, and a communal atmosphere — a neighborhood that most weekend visitors never reach. Chamberí is increasingly becoming a dynamic food district, blending heritage bars with new-wave chefs. While tasting exceptional food, you’ll also uncover the history behind tapas culture and Spanish gastronomy. All the restaurants are within walking distance. The tapas is exceptional, and your guide provides insider tips and recommendations to make the most of your stay in Madrid.

What is the profile of the host?
