Ascent to Toubkal Refuge

This is an exhilarating and demanding ascent to the Toubkal Refuge, starting from the village of Imlil. This demanding trek spans a total climb of 2500 meters (8,202 feet) to 3207 meters (10,522 feet) at the refuge, suitable for those with good fitness levels but does not require technical climbing skills. The trek passes the spiritual landmark of Sidi Chamarouch, a Muslim pilgrimage spot located in a very scenic place, before the steep climb to the refuge, set just below the summit of Mount Toubkal. Here, trekkers can enjoy a well-earned picnic lunch while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding High Atlas Mountains. This trek offers a challenging yet rewarding experience, providing both a sense of accomplishment and spectacular scenic beauty. This full-day trek typically taking about 8 hours. However, the pace depends on your comfort, and Ahmed's team will ensure the group moves at a speed that suits you. Not suitable for young children (under 10 years of age).

An experienced guide, well-versed in the region’s geography and the cultural nuances of the Berber communities. Weather Safety Precaution: If the weather turns bad, Ahmed and his team may adjust the trek route to prioritize safety. Trek cancellations are rare and only occur in severe weather conditions, and only after all alternative routes for a similar experience have been evaluated. Your safety is always the top priority. Dress for mountain conditions: sturdy boots, waterproof jacket, dress in warm layers, gloves, and sun protection (hat, cream). Refillable water bottle and day pack for essentials. If you need a trekking pole, let Ahmed know in advance. Also inform him of any medical conditions or physical limitations. Be prepared for altitude, and respect Berber customs in the villages you pass. Travelers should arrange their own travel insurance for peace of mind in case of illness or accident.
