What is this?

Mexico City has one of the most electric creative scenes on the planet. This private and immersive Art and Design Tour offers a curated journey through the city's dynamic contemporary art landscape. Guided by a knowledgeable curator and host, you'll explore a selection of Mexico City’s most compelling and in-the-moment galleries and cultural centers, with stops that include current exhibitions and adapt to your personal interests across various art and design disciplines. The experience covers vibrant neighborhoods like Roma, Condesa, Colonia Juárez, and San Miguel Chapultepec—areas where art, architecture and culture naturally intersect. Depending on availability, you may gain exclusive access to artist studios and hidden creative spaces. The tour blends walking and private transportation to keep things comfortable and flexible. Along the way, you’ll stop at neighborhood cafés or taquerías to enjoy the city’s culinary energy while soaking in its cultural atmosphere.

What makes this unique?

After booking, your host will reach out to learn more about your specific interests to ensure the day’s itinerary reflects your personal passions, whether that’s contemporary painting, street art, photography, industrial design, sculpture, or a mix of it all. Your host’s close relationships within Mexico City’s creative circles open doors rarely accessible to visitors—like private studio visits or guided walkthroughs led by the artists and curators themselves. These encounters offer intimate insight not just into the work, but into the context in which it’s created. By combining walking and private transportation, the experience allows you to explore a wider range of galleries and studios across the city without losing the street-level pulse of each neighborhood—each one a creative hub in its own right. This is an ever-evolving, invigorating, curated lens into Mexico City’s contemporary culture—art you’ll see, feel, talk about, and if interested, even collect.

What is the profile of the host?

This experience is led by Andrea Bustillos and Andrea Villers, two accomplished art historians with over fifteen years of experience in museums, galleries, and cultural institutions. United by a deep commitment to contemporary art, they have each shaped influential careers within Mexico’s creative landscape. Andrea Bustillos, trained in Madrid, previously directed a gallery focused on contemporary painting and now leads a national program supporting Mexico’s Creative Industries. Andrea Villers, educated in Granada with a master’s in Curatorial Studies from UNAM, runs a consultancy that develops exhibition projects and advises on cultural strategy. Their experience is in-depth and shaped by their knowledge of the local art scene and strong relationships with artists, curators, and institutions. On rare occasions when they are unavailable, their trusted colleagues Jaime and Mario—also seasoned art historians—will host in their place.
