What is this?
Take a one-hour private power walk along Rome’s legendary Appian Way, known as the Regina Viarum—the Queen of Roads. Built over 2,300 years ago, it was the first of the great Roman roads, leading straight to the heart of the empire.
With every stride, you'll feel the ancient basalt stones beneath your feet, just as Roman soldiers, merchants, and emperors once did. This journey takes you past Ancient Rome’s most iconic sites, including the Catacombs of San Sebastiano, the Villa of Maxentius, and the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella.
As you walk this historic path, surrounded by mausoleums, temples, and funerary monuments, you'll experience the grandeur of Ancient Rome in a new way. At each stop, Isabella shares fascinating stories, giving you time to admire breathtaking ruins and absorb the magic of this timeless road.
What makes this unique?
Walking the Appian Way at a steady, invigorating pace brings history to life with every step. Emperors, gladiators, and travelers once passed over these 2300-year old basalt stones, creating a tangible connection to Rome’s past.
The serene landscape, framed by ancient buildings, tombs, and open countryside, reveals a side of Rome far from the crowded center. At dawn or early morning, golden light enhances the grandeur of its imposing ruins, making the experience even more breathtaking.
This is the perfect way to stay active while traveling, whether you're on vacation or a business trip. Instead of a routine morning workout, you’ll power walk through history, guided by Isabella Calidonna, a historian and certified running coach. She seamlessly blends exercise with storytelling, making this both a dynamic fitness experience and an unforgettable journey into Ancient Rome.
