Sarah Minogue Seguret

What is this?

This private wine masterclass takes place in the vaulted cellar of a wine bar in central Bordeaux reserved exclusively for you. You're welcomed by Sarah Seguret, a WSET Level 4 wine specialist, and by Romain, who runs the venue and produces his own wines. The cellar’s stone walls and controlled atmosphere create an intimate, focused setting designed for tasting and discussion. The session centers on a curated tasting of five exceptional Bordeaux wines, selected to represent the region at its highest level across white and red styles. You explore wines from leading châteaux and prestigious appellations, working through Bordeaux’s defining grape varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon. Sarah grounds each wine in its soils, vintage conditions, production choices and place within Bordeaux’s map and classification system. The approach is rigorous yet accessible, encouraging conversation while giving you tools to read Bordeaux wines with confidence.

What makes this unique?

This masterclass is designed to explain why Bordeaux’s most sought-after wines are valued. Sarah selects bottles that demonstrate the region’s hierarchy in practice — showing how appellation, blend, vintage and élevage interact to shape style, structure, longevity. The tasting decodes Bordeaux as a system: the logic of blending versus varietal expression, the role of classification and reputation, and the relationship between viticulture, aging, and global trade that defined the region. Tasting in sequence allows direct comparison at a level of quality rarely assembled in a single private session, supported by practical tools Sarah provides throughout. The vaulted cellar is integral to the experience. Bordeaux’s wine culture has long been shaped by storage, aging, and negotiation beneath ground level, and this experience reinforces that tradition. The result is a masterclass that balances prestige and access to top-tier wines alongside the insight needed to truly appreciate them.

What is the profile of the host?

Sarah is a licensed French tour guide with experience interpreting Bordeaux’s history, terroir, and vinous traditions for curious travelers. She holds WSET Level 4 wine specialist credentials, a qualification that reflects rigorous study of grape varieties, soils, appellations, production methods, classification, and tasting theory.
