What is this?
This half-day wine and gastronomy experience in Mendoza includes a wine tasting, olive oil factory tour and tasting, and a delicious lunch in the middle of the Argentine countryside. This links together three artisanal staples of Mendoza’s table — wine, olive oil, and bread.
The first stop is a tour and tasting at a traditional winery carefully selected by Julieta. This winery is a small-scale affair and remains in the hands of the original family. You will enjoy a personalized tour joint-hosted by Julieta and a wine expert from the estate, learning about the production methods and hearing about how the oenologists blend their latest releases.
The second stop is an independent olive oil producer, where you’ll tour the facilities and learn how cold-pressed oils are made. This includes a tasting with freshly-baked bread and local seasonings before sitting down to enjoy a light lunch fashioned from seasonal and local ingredients.
What makes this unique?
This immersive experience brings together three locally cherished products—wine, olive oil, and bread—that each tell a story about Mendoza’s landscape and culture. What makes it special is the intimacy: you’ll walk into a small olive oil factory upholding traditional methods, taste wines with locals who know their terroir like a friend, and meet artisans keeping ancestral food traditions alive.
Julieta has selected family-owned farmsteads where the people are at the forefront of the experience and the food comes second. These estates rarely see travelers and offer a more exclusive and intimate encounter with local gastronomy. With Julieta at your side all day serving as a translator, you’ll be encouraged to ask questions while dipping fresh bread in velvety olive oil and savoring Malbec. Her mission is to ensure you connect with every step of the journey—not just through taste, but through people. Rather than rushing, this is a meaningful and sensory deep dive into food culture.
