With one of João’s associates guiding you, you will get rare access into special artisanal places. Kimono-expert Dr. Sheila Cliffe opens both her home and her closet to guests in this highly detailed, hands-on workshop exploring the beauty of kimono and the textiles used to create them. 

In the first half of this experience, Sheila will show you the full range of a kimono wardrobe, from the most formal styles worn on special occasions to casual and informal pieces that were once suitable to wear daily. Italy

The experience begins Luca’s family home in the heart of Mamoiada. After a brief introduction in this 19th-century house, you’ll head to the vineyard just outside the village—a landscape shaped by vines, granite, and centuries of tradition.

There, among Cannonau rows and sweeping hills, stands a nuraghe: a prehistoric stone tower built by Sardinia’s ancient people, still intact after thousands of years. Beside it is a small farmhouse and a wooden patio overlooking the vines—your table for a guided tasting of three wines, including Luca’s rare Cannonau Bianco, made from an ancient cross between Cannonau and Gallòpu.

This white grape, known as Gallòpu, is now produced only by Luca in all of Barbagia. The tasting is followed by a traditional lunch: local appetizers, handmade ravioli with ragù, and slow-cooked sheep stew—a moment of pure Sardinian depth.

Luca is the only winemaker in Barbagia producing Gallòpu, an ancient white grape once nearly lost. His Cannonau Bianco is not just rare—it’s a symbol of his vision: to innovate without erasing the past, to make wines that speak both of place and of intention.

Alongside him is his father, who still tends the vines with the same hands that shaped them decades ago. Their work isn’t rushed; it follows the rhythm of the soil, the altitude, the granite. The vineyard and the house have a quiet presence and a timeless feel—places that hold memory without needing to speak it. And when you look up from your glass, the view over Mamoiada’s vineyards says more than words can.

The next chapter of the experience takes you to two of the most iconic neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: San Telmo and La Boca. For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. That means talking to locals, walking unfamiliar routes, listening more than looking. “Lisbon isn’t just to be seen, but touched, smelled, and tasted.” It’s not a checklist—it’s a presence.
He also names two challenges: First, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods are deeply distinct—each like its own mini-city. “Lisbon is multidimensional. It cannot—and should not—be rushed.” Second, mass tourism threatens the local character he cherishes. Responsible travel, he says, is essential to preserve the culture.

Patagonia – the land where the earth ends – must be one of the most unique places to visit in this world. I definitely felt this way, when I visited the glaciers, mountains, and rivers around. It’s a stunning place, and even though it’s quite hard to get there, the whole trip is completely worthwhile.

Patagonian hares, hawks, red foxes, geese, black-necked swans, flamingos, woodpeckers, skunks, pumas, condors, and the near extinct huemul deer – this place is for nature lovers. We’ve spent 1 month in Patagonia, exploring the fauna and flora, zipping warm chocolate next to the chimney of our bed and breakfast, and breathing the fresh air.

Save packing lightly for another trip – visiting the snowy landscape in Southern Argentina, you want to come as prepared as possible. Scarves, gloves, a winter jacket, boots, and lots of exchange clothes are a must.
