First of all, we will meet with the attendees at our puppet museum located in, Faikpaşa Caddesi which is full of old buildings, antique and creative stores. We will make a small tour for the collection we have in the puppet museum from all over the world. After the small tour, we will have local tea and cookies with the attendees. We will start to explain the written history that we have from the beginning 16th century: how Karagöz traveled, how he expanded and how he lives today.  
Then we will get our tools to experience the process of making: 
- Deciding which part of Karagöz will be made, 
- shaping the camel leather with special tools(cutting, carving, piercing) 
- Painting the figure

Finally, with a full figure, all attendees see and experience of acting the figure on a shadow theatre curtain.

I remember wandering through narrow streets and finding tiny bars with real flamenco. It felt genuinely lived in.”
 “Tourism has definitely changed things,” she admits. “Places like La Rambla are overcrowded. Many locals have been pushed out by the rise in tourist rentals. But Catalans are proud of their traditions. They’ve started resisting these changes to preserve the city’s character.” That character is what Manila has grown to love. “I chose Barcelona because I felt an immediate connection. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the weather, the proximity to mountains and sea — it feels like home but also stretches me outside my comfort zone.” She relishes the contrast to her native Sicily. “I can take a train and be skiing in the Pyrenees in just over an hour. Where else do you get that?”
What keeps her in Barcelona is the balance of tradition and openness. “The cuisine, the olive groves, the vineyards — they remind me of southern Italy, but they’re uniquely Catalan.” And the city’s connectivity has made it easy to stay rooted while maintaining close ties to Italy. You can't spend holidays in Barcelona without also visiting the Sagrada Familia. It's probably the city's biggest attraction – and for a good reason. 

La Sagrada, a Roman Catholic church, dates back to the 19th century but is still under construction (some expect it to be finished by 2026, but in my view, 2030 is a safer bet). We opted for a walking tour to the monumental building with high pinnacles, numerous squiggles, and 3-dimensional interior design. Later, during the tour, we discovered the works of art by Sagrada’s architect Gaudi, including Casa Batllo and Casa Mila (La Pedrera). 

The Sagrada Familia is located a little northeast of the city center and is easily reached by metro, bus, or cab. We stayed about 5 hours in this part of the city – as we visited not only the church but also the surrounding area and had some fresh fish to eat in the nearby restaurants. You’ll also find many souvenirs – including miniature La Sagradas, a great gift to bring home!

Walking Tour: Sagrada Familia

If you are interested in rare natural phenomena and want to learn more about marine life, you should head to Mexico's Pacific coast. One of the best spectacles is the annual whale migration, where you can catch unique glimpses of humpback whales. 

The largest mammals on earth have earned their reputation as the most beautiful, intelligent, and impressive creatures. If you watch the ocean at migration time (either from the shore or on a boat tour), you'll see baby whales leaping and maybe even hear mother whales calling their families together. The baby-whale season is from January until the end of April.

But the Pacific coast is not only known for whales. It's just as beautiful to watch sea turtles hatch. If you come at the right time, you can witness mother turtles laying hundreds of eggs overnight in the soft sand on the coast, and much later, those hundreds of babies hatch and crawl toward the sea. Come between late August to early October.

3 - This is a cultural landmark that captures the essence of Milan as a fashion capital. It provides an immersive experience into the world of fashion and design, making it a must-visit for enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Situated in the vibrant Tortona district of Milan, Armani Silos is accessible and open for visits, with recommended prior booking. The museum's tranquil atmosphere is complemented by its proximity to other Milanese attractions, offering a well-rounded cultural outing.

Karagöl Nature Park, nestled in the mountains near İzmir, offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers. The park’s centerpiece is a serene mountain lake surrounded by lush forests, making it a favorite for picnics, hiking, and birdwatching. It’s a perfect destination for those seeking tranquility in nature.

A visit to Fogo Island is all about the power of culture, art and community as catalysts for social and economic change. It’s a story of the indomitable spirit of people who refuse to give up their land.

First Impressions?  Minimalist winter scenery, it’s 🧊 season, one of Fogo Island’s seven  seasons. There are wooden Saltbox Houses, that must have leaped out of a child’s painting book. Reminders of fishing are everywhere. 

My favorite part of the trip is spending time with the islanders who do community orientations and cabin outings for visitors. These are people who are proud of their Irish or English heritage (seven or eight generations in Fogo Island notwithstanding) — who sing songs and tell stories of their ancestors, invite strangers into their homes to share salted cod and tea, take you on ski-doo for ice-fishing, teach you to forage for berries and show you how to preserve vegetables in mason jars to last through winter.

Far Away From Far Away

Exo Gonia Village is a hidden gem on Santorini, known for its tranquil atmosphere, authentic charm, and stunning views of the island’s countryside. Nestled on a hillside, this lesser-known village offers a glimpse into traditional Cycladic life, away from the tourist crowds. Its serene vibe, picturesque streets, and local culinary gems make Exo Gonia a delightful spot for a relaxed visit. 
1. The village is home to the beautiful Church of Panagia Episkopi, a Byzantine gem dating back to the 11th century, renowned for its historical and religious significance. 
2. Narrow streets lined with whitewashed houses and colorful gardens create a peaceful and photogenic setting for exploration. 
3. Exo Gonia is a hub for local cuisine, with renowned restaurants like Metaxi Mas offering some of the best dining experiences on the island. 
4. The elevated position of the village provides panoramic views of the vineyards, farmlands, and the Aegean Sea, especially magical at sunrise or sunset. 
5. The area is surrounded by vineyards, reflecting Santorini’s agricultural heritage, making it a great place to learn about local wine production. 
Visitor Tip: Plan to spend 1–2 hours wandering the village and enjoying a meal at a local taverna. Visit during the morning or late afternoon for a quieter experience and better lighting for photography.

Exo Gonia Village

Valencia, Spain, is home to Gulliver Park (Parque Gulliver), a one-of-a-kind playground where visitors of all ages can experience the world as a Lilliputian. Inspired by Gulliver’s Travels, the park features a massive 70-meter-long sculpture of Gulliver, sprawled across the ground as if captured by tiny Lilliputians. With giant slides, tunnels, ramps, and climbing areas integrated into the structure, this whimsical attraction offers endless fun for families, kids, and anyone young at heart.

1. The giant Gulliver sculpture, complete with slides and climbing areas, allows visitors to explore the character’s arms, legs, and even his coat as if they were tiny Lilliputians.

The Cattedrale di Monreale, located on the slopes overlooking Palermo, is a breathtaking example of 12th-century Norman architecture fused with Byzantine and Arab influences. Renowned for its stunning gold-leaf mosaics, the cathedral represents a high point in medieval art and stands as a testament to Sicily's rich cultural tapestry. Here are the key highlights:
