This full-day photography excursion takes you to two contrasting natural wonders in the Atacama Desert of Chile: the Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna) and Rainbow Valley (Valle del Arcoiris). It is hosted by Mirko, a professional photographer specializing in landscapes and wildlife and a licensed guide. Upon leaving San Pedro de Atacama, Mirko will pull over at one of his favorite viewpoints to appreciate the sunrise over the Andes mountain range. While sipping coffee and sharing a breakfast of marraqueta bread rolls, you'll warm up your photography skills for the day by shooting the soft morning light. 

You will then explore the ravines and dunes of Moon Valley, coming to understand how it earned its name. After lunch at a local restaurant in San Pedro de Atacama, you'll head to the Cordillera Domeyko to study the 3,000-year-old petroglyphs of Yerba Buenas before ending the day in the multi-colored Rainbow Valley.

Mirko has selected these two locations for their contrasts. The morning is spent exploring the salt mines, rugged amphitheaters, and sweeping dunes of Moon Valley where Mirko will explain the geological anomalies. By visiting early in the day, you're spared the inevitable afternoon crowds and have a more relaxed photographic experience. 

The afternoon takes place at two of the Atacama Desert's hidden treasures: Yerbas Buenas and Rainbow Valley. Yerbas Buenas (Hierbas Buenas) is an open-air exhibit of pre-Columbian rock carvings which provide insight into ancient Indigenous cultures. Mirko will explain the symbolism behind the petroglyphs and how these served as more than pretty pictures! In Rainbow Valley, the mountains are painted hues of red, green, white, yellow, and blue as a result of the oxidation of different mineral deposits over millions of years. You will arrive in time to catch the soft light of the waning sun. Lunch in town serves as a way to chat informally with Mirko.

Greece

Some mornings are made for stillness. This experience invites you to move through Santorini without pressure — just early light, quiet corners, and space to breathe. You’ll begin in Oia before the crowds arrive, following the old sailors' trail where they used to build boats and move them rooftop to rooftop; now, they plant vibrant bougainvilleas. Just a gentle walk shaped by stories.

In a smaller village, you’ll pause in a shaded kafeneio for Greek coffee, fresh juice or lemonade, with birdsong and conversation replacing the usual noise. Maria, a lifetime member of the Santorini community, shares stories of life on the island. The moment invites presence, not performance.

There’s also time to stop at a peaceful viewpoint—like Profitis Ilias or Windmill Hill—for reflection and a sweeping view. You’ll then close the morning at Symposion, where ancient instruments and island myths echo in a restored winery. This is an intimate moment of connection with local traditions.

This is a 3-hour cooking experience at the Amal Women’s Cooperative Center, founded by the remarkable Nora Fitzgerald Belahcen. Rooted in empowerment and inclusion, the experience offers a hands-on introduction to Moroccan cuisine while celebrating the social impact of food.

You’ll begin with a short introduction to Amal’s mission—supporting women from vulnerable backgrounds by training them in the culinary arts. From there, you’ll dive into Moroccan cooking: exploring local spices, learning the stories of each dish, and preparing a traditional feast with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Some recipes are cooked over charcoal, using bellows to control the flame—an immersive detail that reflects Morocco’s culinary heritage.

As your dishes simmer, you'll enjoy a traditional tea paired with homemade cookies. The experience ends with a shared meal; you’ll gather to taste what you've created and connect with members of the Amal team, learning more about their lives, resilience and work.

Unlike many cooking classes in Marrakesh, this experience is private, intimate and timed for an early dinner, featuring a selection of thoughtfully curated dishes to prepare and enjoy. Then we get to work! After we do the basic prep of our dishes, we put them on charcoal to cook and use the bellows to make sure the fire is hot.

The beauty of Kyoto's four distinct seasons are celebrated in images of exploding cherry blossoms, lush green moss gardens, fiery autumn foliage, and snow-blanketed temples. Beyond the natural beauty of Kyoto is its remarkably distinct cuisine based on seasonally available ingredients. 

Meet your host, Eric, at the first venue of your multi-course experience. After learning about seasonal ingredients, enjoy your first course of seasonal dishes and become familiar with the type of sake that goes best with it.
After a relaxing time at the first venue, Eric will lead you to another of his favorite restaurants  to sample more seasonal dishes in another chic location, again paired with Japanese sake.

Throughout the evening, Eric shares fascinating and useful information about Kyoto cuisine which will add to your dining experience through your stay in the city. The seasonal menu changes around May/June and Oct/Nov; enjoy a completely different experience at least twice a year.

This creative photography experience in Buenos Aires is designed for newbie photography enthusiasts, those with existing knowledge about composition, and advanced photographers seeking ways to improve their cityscape and landscape photography. The locations are a variety of rooftop settings with remarkable views of the city, many of which are not known by tourists or are even off-limits to the average sightseer. 

During the course of the route, you will take in a panoramic view of Puerto Madero, Corrientes Avenue, and its Obelisk from an exclusive rooftop perch. You will soak up 360-degree views of Florida Avenue and the beautiful domes of May Avenue from a 14-floor aerial viewpoint. You’ll spy the historically poignant Plaza de Mayo from the Cabildo balconies and gasp at the sight of Recoleta Cemetery view from two bird’s eye vantage points—one of which is restricted to the general public. At each sight, Bernardo will provide expert photography tips and share anecdotes.

This rooftop photography excursion elevates your experience in Buenos Aires to new heights! Come and experience what happens in Buenos Aires after hours in a two-hour milonga experience hosted by a professional and globally renowned tango artist. Blending music, dance, social interaction, and traditions, milongas are deeply embedded in modern Porteño culture. The term refers to both the concept and the venue, with milongas typically being held in dance halls and cultural centers. For locals, the milonga represents community whereas for visitors, it’s an immersive cultural experience.

In this experience, Gisela will explain the cultural history of tango and what the dance means in modern Buenos Aires and wider Argentina. She will explain the etiquette and codes of the dance floor and terminology relating to tango—such as Ronda, Tanda, and Cabeceo. There is the opportunity to dance tango if you wish; however, this is optional. You are welcome to simply spectate and soak up the atmosphere from the sidelines. The experience also includes sharing wine and empanadas with Gisela.

Although both experiences are pivotal to the full Buenos Aires experience, milongas are far more intimate and authentic in comparison to watching a tango show. These are social and participatory affairs where regular people go to dance with friends and family. Some dancers are professional, others are just starting out with the steps or seeking to improve. Ultimately, the milonga stands for community and nurturing connection. There are no choreographed routines here, although you may well rub shoulders with professionals indulging in a relaxed night away from the theater!

Milongas are the realm of local residents. However, tourists are welcome to join in and engage with the attendees, many of whom are regulars. With Gisela at your side, you will understand how to partake in the dancing respectfully or how to observe tactfully from the side. Growing up in Buenos Aires, Gisela Vidal danced her first tango at the age of 14. From there, she trained extensively in Tango Salon and Tango Stage style with the finest Argentinian Masters. Besides tango, Gisela has studied contemporary dance, jazz, belly dance, ballet, Argentine folk, and salsa. She has undertaken further tuition in theater and film acting, mime and clown art, and singing.

Gisela has participated in international tango festivals and major events including the opening of the Dakar 2009 in Buenos Aires. She was the choreographer and a stunt dancer for the Tango Infedele Video Clip. During her 20-year career, Gisela has danced and coached in over 40 countries. She co-managed a tango school in Milan and coordinated the Tango Querido School in Tuscany. She launched her own jewelry business in 2018.

When asked about his love for Lisbon, Tiago’s enthusiasm is immediate: “I love my city! I really love the historic center of Lisbon!” Though he didn’t always feel that way. Growing up on the city’s outskirts, it wasn’t until returning after time abroad that he saw it anew. “It was as a young and independent adult with an arts and architecture degree, and with the enthusiasm to explore — that I realized how beautiful, diverse, and interesting my city is.”
For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. That means talking to locals, walking unfamiliar routes, listening more than looking. “Lisbon isn’t just to be seen, but touched, smelled, and tasted.” It’s not a checklist—it’s a presence.
He also names two challenges: First, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods are deeply distinct—each like its own mini-city. “Lisbon is multidimensional. It cannot—and should not—be rushed.” Second, mass tourism threatens the local character he cherishes. Responsible travel, he says, is essential to preserve the culture.

Where else do you get that?”

In the heart of Rome stands the Pantheon, a marvel of ancient engineering and architectural genius. This enduring edifice, originally built as a temple to the Roman gods, captivates with its grandeur and its remarkable state of preservation, offering a direct link to the imperial past of Rome. Medieval Village of Siurana

Step into the poignant history of Europe's first slave market at Lagos's Slave Market Museum in the Algarve. This museum, housed in a 17th-century building in the historic Praça do Infante D. Henrique square, unveils the grim reality of the slave trade that began in Lagos in the mid-15th century. It’s a place for reflection and understanding of the slave trade's history in Portugal and across the globe. Here you'll discover:
1. Origins of the Slave Trade: The museum traces the history of slavery in Lagos, beginning with the arrival of the first black African slaves in 1444. The slaves were brought from the western coast of Africa, marking the onset of a harrowing epoch in European and African history.
2. Prince Henry the Navigator’s Role: Discover how Prince Henry the Navigator played a crucial role in initiating the slave trade. He set up a trading post off the coast of Mauritania, leading to the shipment of slaves to Lagos and other parts of Europe. The museum highlights his influence and the subsequent expansion of the slave trade under Portuguese dominion.
3. Experiences of the Enslaved: The museum vividly portrays the suffering of the enslaved individuals, from their capture and separation from families to their harsh living conditions. Jamaica

Jake’s is a Jamaican treasure. In fact, where it’s located is actually called Treasure Beach. 

Getting there from Montego Bay Airport takes a full two and a half hours on rough country roads - more than three if you stop at the jerk chicken place as we did. We stayed in a colorful bohemian cottage on the sea and tasted our first Ackee and Codfish - Jamaica’s breakfast dish - here. 

The evenings are for crooning to live music - reggae or calypso — before falling asleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks literally at your feet.
