Morocco

Spain

You leave San Sebastián by private transport and drive west toward the coast, where the Basque Country’s food culture begins in daily routines. In Zarautz, you walk through the local market as residents shop for fish landed that morning, seasonal vegetables, and cured meats that anchor home cooking. Your host explains how people here buy food day by day, and why seasonality matters.

From the coast, you head inland to the hills where txakoli vineyards cling to steep, terraced slopes. At a small, family-run winery, you see how this lightly sparkling white wine is made from native grapes shaped by Atlantic weather. The tasting is informal and direct, focused on method, land, and continuity.

Francesco’s work explores the relationship between individuals and urban spaces to convey the raw essence of his subjects. Since 2020, he has been sharing his expertise through workshops and masterclasses, bringing more people into the world of street photography. His "Slow Photography" philosophy emphasizes patience, immersion, and understanding places before capturing them.

This experience begins in Sacromonte, the hillside district where the cave-dwellings of Granada’s Roma community shaped a culture found nowhere else in Spain. With Gabriela, you walk through this historic neighborhood and visit the Cave Museum, stepping inside reconstructed cave-homes that show how people lived, cooked, forged iron, wove baskets.

From the terraces, you see an iconic golden view of the Alhambra. Gabriela shares stories about the origins of the Roma community here, their role in Granada’s culture, and how Sacromonte became the cradle of the zambra, a flamenco style born in these caves.

The evening continues in the city center with an intimate flamenco show performed in a small tablao, where the focus is on artistry. Here, you witness the expressive singing, guitar and dance that define Granada’s identity. Sacromonte was the birthplace of the zambra — flamenco was shaped inside the caves you’ll walk through. Few visitors understand the neighborhood’s cultural weight: how Roma families kept traditions, how weddings gave rise to the barefoot dance of the zambra, or how the cave acoustics influenced the music.

In the Museum, you see spaces that recreate daily life: loom rooms, forges, kitchens, animal shelters. This gives you context most flamenco tours never include. From the hill’s terraces, you see the Alhambra from a beloved viewpoint.

The flamenco show is chosen carefully by Gabriela: intimate (no more than 20 people), authentic, performed by professional artists who treat each night as a personal expression, not a zambra cave show popularized by tourism. Arkadi Monastery

Giara di Gesturi, located in central Sardinia, is a high basalt plateau known for its unique landscapes, rich biodiversity, and cultural significance. This natural wonder is a haven for nature enthusiasts and is famously home to the Giara wild horses, a rare and ancient breed that roams freely across the plateau. With its tranquil atmosphere, scenic trails, and fascinating wildlife, Giara di Gesturi offers an immersive experience into Sardinia’s natural heritage. 
1. The wild Giara horses are the plateau’s most iconic residents. These small, hardy horses are believed to have lived here for centuries, making them a symbol of Sardinia’s untamed beauty. 
2. The plateau’s unique terrain includes pools (paulis) that form during the rainy season, creating a vital water source for the local flora and fauna.

Giara di Gesturi

The Torre del Oro (Tower of Gold) is one of Seville’s most iconic landmarks, situated along the banks of the Guadalquivir River. This 13th-century dodecagonal tower was originally built by the Almohads as a military watchtower and was later used to control access to the river. Its name, “Tower of Gold,” is believed to stem from the golden gleam it once reflected off the river or possibly from the gold brought from the New World that was stored in its vaults. Today, the Torre del Oro is a maritime museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Seville's rich naval history.
 Highlights of Torre del Oro:

1. Panoramic Views: Climb to the top of the tower for stunning 360-degree views of Seville’s skyline, including landmarks like the Giralda and the cathedral. The vantage point also offers a unique perspective of the Guadalquivir River.

2. Maritime Museum: The tower houses a small museum that tells the story of Seville’s naval history, featuring ancient maps, ship models, and artifacts that highlight the city’s role during Spain’s Age of Exploration.

3. Architectural Heritage: Admire the tower’s dodecagonal (12-sided) structure, a prime example of Almohad military architecture. The tower has been restored over the centuries, preserving its Moorish origins while incorporating later influences.

Torre del Oro

If you want to explore Spain on foot, you should definitely set out on one of the pilgrimage routes through the country. All routes lead to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, which is located in the northwest. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Camino de Santiago has been named a central point of cultural exchange – and a historical highlight that shows what medieval Spain looked like. We chose to follow the famous Camino Frances. The original 800km route takes 5 weeks, but we decided to get in a little later, we only had 11 days, and opted for the route starting in the Galician town of Sarria. Along the way, you'll meet many other tourist pilgrims, but you'll also be able to immerse yourself in the local culture and taste Spain's best delicacies (tapas, seafood, and Spanish Serrano ham). Be prepared for a lot of walking – and take the best walking boots you have. We’ve enjoyed every minute, but some people we met had the wrong equipment, complaining about blisters.

The “French” pilgrimage route

Istria, Croatia, is home to the enchanting Grožnjan Artists’ Village, a medieval hilltop town transformed into a vibrant hub for painters, sculptors, and musicians. Known as the “Town of Artists,” Grožnjan is filled with cobbled streets, stone houses, and breathtaking views of the Mirna River Valley, making it one of the most picturesque spots in Istria. With its numerous art galleries, charming cafés, and lively summer music festivals, this hidden gem offers a magical blend of history, creativity, and inspiration.

1. Wandering through the village, dozens of art studios and galleries showcase local and international artists, featuring everything from paintings and ceramics to handmade jewelry and sculptures.

2. The medieval stone-paved streets, ivy-covered houses, and hidden courtyards create a fairy-tale atmosphere, making Grožnjan a dream destination for photography lovers.

3. In summer, the town comes alive with music festivals, jazz performances, and open-air concerts, as Grožnjan is home to the International Cultural Center of Jeunesses Musicales.

4. From various viewpoints, panoramic vistas of rolling vineyards, olive groves, and the Adriatic Sea stretch into the distance, offering some of the best scenic views in Istria.

5. Local taverns and wine cellars serve Istrian delicacies such as truffle-infused dishes, homemade pasta, and award-winning wines, making it an ideal stop for food lovers.

Visitor Tip: Visit in the late afternoon to enjoy the golden-hour light for photography and stay for an evening concert to experience Grožnjan’s artistic spirit.

This place is located 100 km far from my home  and its in fundy national park New Brunswick canada  and its really amazing place the water falls looks soo good when you look with your nacked eyes  its a fresh water fall and the water also taste good we did hiking as well as had some snacks with my homies its a great location to come out for a good day and a good hike and have spend you day in nature i am a huge nature lover and i love to be in nature when i am on my off days i am so much indulge in nature activities like camping fishing bonfire start gazing from mountains bagpacking etc etc

A day out for hiking at fundy

Jamaica

The Caves in Negril offers a unique and exhilarating experience for those seeking adventure in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. Perched atop honeycomb cliffs formed by volcanic activity, The Caves is a gateway to thrilling cliff diving and cave swimming experiences.

The natural structure of the cliffs at The Caves makes them an ideal location for cliff diving. The walls of the resort are a veritable museum of ancient fossilized marine life and provide a variety of diving spots. 

As guests at The Caves, we were encouraged to take early morning dives from the cliffs, with jumps ranging from 8 ft to 30 ft, and there's even a jump inside a cave for the more daring. 

Despite the excitement of cliff diving, it's important to approach this activity with caution. The heights can be intimidating, and the water can appear menacing, especially when the weather is not ideal. So be careful and always go with a companion.

Cliff Diving at the Caves

In the heart of Fes, the Chouara and Sidi Moussa tanneries stand as enduring relics of the Middle Ages, their practices largely unchanged since that era. Here, the ancient art of leather tanning transforms raw hides into beautifully supple fabrics through a strikingly colorful yet arduous process. As you navigate the narrow alleys leading to the tanneries, the air grows thick with a pungent aroma, a hallmark of this traditional craft. Things to look for:

1. The Chouara Tannery, perhaps the most famous in Fes, alongside Sidi Moussa, offers a rare glimpse into the labor-intensive process of leather production. Hundreds of workers from multiple generations of families toil from sunrise to sunset. They labor over open vats filled with a vivid mosaic of natural dyes and pigeon dung, an essential component in softening the leather. This spectacle of color and effort unfolds beneath the Moroccan sun, casting a palette that feels almost surreal against the earthy tones of the Medina.

2. Visitors are handed a sprig of mint to ward off the overwhelming smells. The sensory overload is part of the experience!

3. Guides explain the dyeing process, pointing out the use of natural ingredients like saffron, poppy flower, indigo, and henna. 

4. After dyeing, the leathers are laid out to dry on the nearby rooftops, creating an iconic and photogenic scene that defines the visual landscape of the tanneries. 

5. A visit to the tanneries is an education in the tenacity and skill of the Moroccan artisans who maintain these centuries-old techniques. Despite modern advancements, these methods have resisted change, preserved by the artisans’ dedication to their heritage. 

As you leave, the sight of the vibrant leathers, the sound of workers chanting in rhythm, and the smell of natural tannins linger, leaving a lasting impression of a craft preserved in time. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes as the area can be wet and slippery.
