Diego Baloian is an architect holding a degree from the Universidad Finis Terrae and a Master's in Cultural Heritage from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). As the founding partner at DBG Architecture and Massantiago, his work focuses on architectural design, the restoration of heritage buildings, and urban planning. While crossing the city center, the narrative spans the late seventeenth to the nineteenth century, when the city armed 508 expeditions linked to about 150,000 Africans deported to the Americas. This nighttime photography experience invites you to explore Rome as the city shifts from the blue hour into full evening light. You begin near the Colosseum, capturing its form from elevated viewpoints where Roman pines and shrubs frame the monument in unexpected ways. As daylight fades, the mix of deep blues and warm architectural tones creates a vivid palette that defines the opening part of the walk.

As traffic builds, you experiment with long exposures, shaping light trails that cut across the foreground and give energy to the scene. Marcela Rodriguez is a contemporary multi-media artist. Born in 1965, Marcela grew up living in lighthouses with her lighthouse-keeper father along the rugged Southern Chilean coast. The vast Patagonian landscape and turbulent Pacific Ocean greatly influenced her. While in college, she discovered street theatre and performed with two important Santiago theatre troupes.

In 1992, Marcela moved to Minneapolis, USA, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and an MFA in painting and drawing. In 2001, she moved back to Chile and developed a passion for printmaking, focusing on lithography. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries throughout Chile, Mexico, Cuba, and the USA.

Marcela has completed two art residencies for printmakers, including a month-long one in Veracruz, Mexico at La Ceiba Grafica in 2018 and with renowned artists from “Taller 99” in Santiago, 2019. She currently lives and works as a visual artist in Concon, Chile, and teaches at Casa Plan in Valparaíso.

Taste and Tradition in Kyoto

3 days in Kyoto exploring crafts, rituals, and cuisine rooted in centuries of flavor and tradition.

The largest (not highest) waterfalls in the world are located in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. It's a breathtaking spectacle to hear, see and feel the masses of water cascading down the landscape, and along the way, you'll see beautiful rainbows, coatis, and birds.
To get there, you'll fly to Puerto Iguazú and stay at one of the local hostels. We took this colorful train to the falls, and then you hike a bit on very accessible trails. Take your camera, because you'll want to show these views to your friends and family back home. Later in the evening you can watch the sunset and have a nice view of the three-country border – a river that separates Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.
After visiting the Argentine side of the falls, you can take a trip to Brazil to experience the other side of the falls as well. On the Brazilian side, you can also visit a local botanical garden where you can observe mockingbirds, butterflies, monkeys, and other tropical animals.

Strolling through its colorful streets, you’ll discover centuries-old pottery traditions, lively taverns, and a deep sense of community that makes it one of the most authentic parts of Seville.

1. Calle San Jorge and Ceramic Shops: Triana is renowned for its ceramics, with a history that dates back to Roman times. "If I know a song of Africa, of the giraffe and the African new moon lying on her back, does Africa know a song of me?", mused Karen Blixen in Out of Africa. I am too much of a nomad but if I ever owned a farm, as Ms. Blixen did, it would be in the Lamai Wedge - located in the triangular watershed between the Kenya border and the Mara river. Possibly the most beautiful place in East Africa. Besides being a refuge for the Great Migration after crossing the River Mara, it has great game year-round.

Until recently, no camps were allowed here, but now you can stay at the Singita Mara River Tented Camp and a few others. 

And wake up at dawn to catch the sun filtering through the clouds and mist. The Wildebeest seem a little dazed as they contemplate the scenery over the hills of Kenya while eating succulent grasses - and staying out of the way of the cheetah brothers out on a prowl, with whom we tagged along for an unsuccessful hunt. Life is tough.

The coastal towns near Begur, such as Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu, and Llafranc, offer some of the most picturesque seaside scenery in Catalonia. With charming whitewashed buildings, crystal-clear waters, and sandy coves, these towns are perfect for a relaxing getaway.
1. The beaches, surrounded by pine forests and cliffs, are ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
2. Coastal paths, like the Camí de Ronda, provide scenic hiking opportunities between coves.
3. The towns feature waterfront restaurants serving fresh seafood and local specialties.
