After freshening up, enjoy a regional lunch at the estate paired with wines from previous harvests. The morning concludes with a serene cruise aboard a traditional Rabelo boat, drifting past golden hills and leafy terraces. Pick‑Up

Watch and help as the freshly harvested grapes are collected and taken to the next stage of winemaking: the press. Here, you’ll learn about the traditional lagares (stone tanks) and how grapes begin their transformation. Then step into the lagar barefoot and join in the traditional grape stomping — still practiced today during harvest. Music and laughter set the tone for this joyful, communal ritual. After the treading, you’ll have a chance to rinse off, change, and relax before lunch. 

This traditional method taps into the soul of Douro's harvest culture, allowing you to witness an ancient ritual that has been around for centuries. You’ll stomp, sing (if you want), and experience one of the valley’s most iconic annual events first-hand. Then take a break for a well-deserved lunch.

Comfortable, closed-toe shoes (you’ll walk in vineyards, but remove for treading), shorts, and a lightweight top you don't mind staining, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, reusable water bottle, towel or change of clothes for treading, camera or smartphone.

Carlos and Paulo can pick you up at your hotel in the Douro or one of the train stations (Pinhão/Régua). After booking, chat with them to arrange a meeting point.
