In 1953, Shoghi Effendi, guardian of the Bahá'í Faith, envisioned a temple to unite a continent. By 2016, this dream crystallized into the Mother Temple of South America—and today this is the first stop on your one-day odyssey of Santiago de Chile.
What makes this unique?
The Bahá'í Temple of Santiago is a structure of nine luminous “petals” each arching skyward like a prayer. Thirty meters high, its glass-clad sails filter daylight into a sanctuary for 600 souls, symbolizing the Bahá'í tenet of oneness.
As Julio will expand on, the temple’s floral form is no accident: it mirrors nature’s perfection, a deliberate echo of divine harmony. Julio will share yet more tidbits and wisdom while taking you on a dance around Santiago's most enthralling landmark and idyllic gardens.
