It begins at the only Mosque–Cathedral in the world, one of the most complex religious monuments in Europe, where Umayyad Islamic architecture and later Christian interventions coexist within a single structure. From there, you cross the Roman Bridge, a vital link since antiquity that still defines the city’s relationship with the Guadalquivir.

The walk continues into the Jewish Quarter, whose narrow, irregular streets preserve the medieval urban fabric. In the Synagogue, one of only three surviving medieval synagogues in Spain, you learn how it endured. You can travel by car from Seville and Málaga in an hour and a half. Córdoba can also be reached by train within 45 minutes-1 hour from both. Toni can advise you on travel options, but transport to/from Córdoba are not included.

EatIstria guide picks up the guests at their accommodation, followed by a drive to our first stop, a truffle-hunting family in the surroundings of Motovun forest in central Istria. After a welcome drink, the guests are taken to the forest for a truffle hunt with the family's specially trained dogs. A three-course, all truffle-based brunch follows, accompanied by a short lecture on truffle hunting. Before the departure, the guests get to visit the family's shop with a wide assortment of truffle-based products.

Her students are just as varied as her interests, and include playwrights, artists, students, designers, and journalists. 

Silvina has been a translator for the Government of Buenos Aires and publishers, specializing in the arts, theater, and popular social science. In addition to history, she’s passionate about drama and literature (particularly contemporary female writers), and has traveled extensively throughout the Americas and Europe. When asked about his love for Lisbon, Tiago’s enthusiasm is immediate: “I love my city! I really love the historic center of Lisbon!” Though he didn’t always feel that way. Growing up on the city’s outskirts, it wasn’t until returning after time abroad that he saw it anew. “It was as a young and independent adult with an arts and architecture degree, and with the enthusiasm to explore — that I realized how beautiful, diverse, and interesting my city is.”
For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. Athens National Garden

Dubrovnik, Croatia, is home to Mount Srđ, a scenic hill rising 412 meters (1,352 feet) above the city, offering panoramic views of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, the Adriatic Sea, and the Elaphiti Islands. A historically significant site, Mount Srđ played a crucial role during the Siege of Dubrovnik in the Croatian War of Independence and is now home to the Homeland War Museum. Whether you hike up, take the cable car, or drive, reaching the summit is a rewarding experience for nature lovers and photographers alike.

1. At the summit, breathtaking views of Dubrovnik’s terracotta rooftops and the deep blue Adriatic Sea make this one of the best photography spots in Croatia, especially at sunset.

2. The Dubrovnik Cable Car, a quick and scenic way to reach the top, offers stunning aerial views of the coastline and nearby islands on the way up.

Visiting the Blue Cave on the island of Biševo offers an enchanting and unforgettable adventure. This stunning sea cave is known for its mesmerizing blue light, created by sunlight reflecting off the white sandy bottom and illuminating the cave in a surreal azure glow.

Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is famous not only because it is the largest coral reef in the ocean, but also because it is the most beautiful one. For those who like snorkeling or diving, an unsurpassable underwater world opens up.

My highlight in Australia was definitely the day trip to the reef. From Cairns, we took the tourist boat out to sea. Since the water is relatively cold, you get a wetsuit and then have hours to discover the unique underwater world.

I saw sharks, turtles, huge colorful corals, man-sized fish, thousands of small schools of fish, a clam, rays, snails, and lots of underwater plants.

Remember that you are a trespasser in the underwater world, so be careful not to touch or destroy anything. Use organic sunscreen and always be respectful of your surroundings.

The world’s largest reef

Aljezur Castle offers a unique window into the past and panoramic views that stretch over Aljezur and its pristine coastline. This ancient fortress, believed to originate from the Iron and Bronze Ages, stands as a testament to various epochs, including the Visigothic, Roman, and Moorish periods, culminating in its Christian fortification in the 13th century. Top reasons to visit include its historical depth, architectural remnants, and the breathtaking vistas it offers.

It’s Halloween time in Beacon Hill in Boston. After much consideration, I decide that I am too old to collect candy from my generous neighbors.

So I pick up my camera instead and wander through Boston’s most historic neighborhood to celebrate its annual Halloween tradition.

Since the 1970s, this is one day when the charming tree-lined streets of Beacon Hill get packed ..
 
.. with costumed pets and people, infants dressed as pumpkins to the elderly dressed in traditional witching gear.

Watch out for the brooms. 

I run into a friend dressed up as Jamie Lannister from the Game of Thrones, complete with chopped arm hanging around his neck.

There’s a dog dressed up as a skunk.

Beyond their use as a stress-relief tool, komboloi beads carry deep cultural and spiritual significance in Greek society, making this museum a must-visit for those interested in traditional Greek heritage.

Komboloi Museum

San Giusto Castle, a historic fortress in Trieste, stands majestically on the hill of the same name. Built on the ruins of a Venetian castle, its origins date back to the 15th century. The castle offers a vivid retelling of Trieste's history, from Roman times to the present day. Roughly 300 years older than Miramare Castle, it offers a panoramic view of the city, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding mountains​​. Why visit?
1 - Architectural Grandeur: The castle, a blend of medieval and renaissance architecture, showcases the transformation of Trieste through different historical periods. It features an array of rooms, including the 15th-century Captain's House, the Sala Caprin, and the late-Gothic Cappella di San Giorgio, each narrating a unique aspect of Trieste's past.
