What is this?
The experience begins at the lively food market in Aix-en-Provence. Stalls filled with seasonal produce, cheeses, olives, bread, and regional specialties offer an immediate introduction to the flavors of Provence. You experience the rhythm of local life while discovering the ingredients and traditions that shape Provençal cooking. There is time for a light lunch with a glass of wine before leaving the city.
You continue into the countryside to Château de Beaupré, a family estate whose winemaking history dates back to 1855. Surrounded by organic vineyards, the property reflects generations of knowledge devoted to the production of Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence wines. The visit includes time among the vines and a tasting.
The day concludes at Château Bonisson, an estate that combines wine production with a contemporary art center. Set around an 18th-century bastide and overlooking vineyards and wooded hills, the property hosts rotating exhibitions that connect art and the landscape.
What makes this unique?
This experience brings together several dimensions of Provence in a single day. Food, culture, wine, landscape, and art are integrated into a coherent experience.
Walking through the daily market in Aix-en-Provence with Christopher or Laurent takes the visit beyond browsing. They introduce you to producers they know and trust, highlighting particular products, explaining what makes them worth choosing, and showing how they shape local cooking. The market also sets up the rest of the day, introducing flavors that return later at lunch and in the wines you taste.
At Château de Beaupré, you encounter a family winemaking history rooted in organic viticulture and the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation. At Château Bonisson, the experience opens onto another side of the same landscape, where wine and contemporary art are brought together on a working estate. Together, these visits offer a more layered understanding of Provence, shaped by cultivation, taste, and artistic life.
