Available as a morning or afternoon excursion, this half-day experience starts with a guided hike through the Ckezar Ravine followed by a relaxing soak at the Puritama Hot Springs. Following course of the Puritama River creek, the 2.1-mile (3.4 km) hike immerses you in imposing rock formations and desert landscapes as you wade through the water, learning about the geology and local ecosystems. The hiking experience is defined by the silence and vastness of the desert. The adventure concludes at the Puritama Hot Springs, a natural oasis surrounded by mountains. The temperatures of these thermal waters range from 82-88°F (28-31°C), making it an ideal spot for reflecting and recharging. Recommended for travelers coming to the end of their time in San Pedro, this watery landscape stands in contrast with the arid environments prevalent in the Atacama Desert and illustrates the relationship between water and life in one of the driest places on the planet.
