Hosted by a professional photographer from Buenos Aires, this tango photography experience takes place in the vibrant neighborhood of La Boca. Playing out on the pedestrianized street of Caminito, you will meet two professional and award winning tango dancers before capturing incredible images of them performing to the backdrop of the colorful, mismatched tenement houses La Boca is famed for. Sporting full costume and make-up, the dancers are happy to answer any questions you have about this art form. 

The experience starts over a cup of coffee in a cafe where Bernardo will discuss the best camera settings for capturing tango on the street. He will address compositional tips, focusing techniques, and working with moving subjects. This is an opportunity to ask any questions and get to grips with the functionality of your camera or device (smartphones are welcome). As the activity progresses, he will continue to impart knowledge and mentor you throughout.

If you’re the kind of traveler who feels shy about photographing people on the street, then this experience takes care of that. Hosted by a professional Porteño photographer whose work appears in publications all over the world, you will partake in a private photography session with two tango dancers in La Boca. This dancing duo will be dressed in full costume and make-up and you will have the opportunity to chat before and during the experience—providing a rare access moment to learn about this art form from those who practice it and take a closer look at the fashion.The setting itself couldn't be more appropriate. After all, La Boca is one of the barrios of Buenos Aires where tango found its feet in the 19th century. 

Bernardo will art direct the shoot, indicating where and how the dancers should pose while at the same time assisting you with your camera settings and composition. All you need to worry about is taking compelling photos and feeling the rhythm!

Náhuatl is a language under threat, and this community speaks a particularly distinct dialect of it. The people in this community only keep this language alive by speaking it amongst themselves. In an interactive language class led by a native Náhuatl speaker from the community, travelers will learn the basics of this ancient language. The class is designed to not only teach the language but also to provide an immersive understanding of the cultural significance behind the words and expressions used by the Náhuatl people. 

During your tour through the fields, your hosts will also point of wild plants still used today for their medicinal and flavorsome properties. This is part of their domestic conservation of traditional knowledge. In addition, guests will assist the community in removing litter from the fields and roadsides.

She has participated as a lead collaborator in linguistic documentation projectssuch as the Náhuatl Dialectology Project led by the National Institute of Indigenous Languages. She has also been active in compiling vocabulary to safeguard linguistic memory. Guillermina is an authentic and proud Indigenous woman who, along with her family, is always willing to share her lifestyle and the deep connection her community has with nature.

This experience weaves together landscapes, stories, and craftsmanship from Santorini’s lesser-known paths. It begins with a stop at a striking volcanic opening — beloved by locals — for a wide, wind-kissed view of Oia and Imerovigli from afar. Manila first arrived in Barcelona more than two decades ago, while finishing her studies in Rome. She needed an internship for her thesis and chose Barcelona without expecting how quickly she’d feel at home.“Barcelona, 22 years ago, was a different place,” she says. “It was less cosmopolitan, more local. I remember wandering through narrow streets and finding tiny bars with real flamenco. It felt genuinely lived in.”
 “Tourism has definitely changed things,” she admits. “Places like La Rambla are overcrowded. Many locals have been pushed out by the rise in tourist rentals. But Catalans are proud of their traditions. They’ve started resisting these changes to preserve the city’s character.” That character is what Manila has grown to love. “I chose Barcelona because I felt an immediate connection. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the weather, the proximity to mountains and sea — it feels like home but also stretches me outside my comfort zone.” She relishes the contrast to her native Sicily. “I can take a train and be skiing in the Pyrenees in just over an hour. Where else do you get that?”
What keeps her in Barcelona is the balance of tradition and openness. “The cuisine, the olive groves, the vineyards — they remind me of southern Italy, but they’re uniquely Catalan.” And the city’s connectivity has made it easy to stay rooted while maintaining close ties to Italy. She speaks with admiration about the people: “Catalans are proud, resilient, and united. They have a strong sense of identity and community. Whether through demonstrations or cultural festivals, they come together. They’re efficient and organized, but also keep that relaxed Mediterranean vibe. It’s a unique combination.”
