During this session, you will learn the fundamentals of miniature painting, from traditional brushwork to layering vibrant pigments. The host, Şeyma Çınar, is a master artist specializing in miniature art, Tezhip (Islamic illumination), and floral designs since 1998. With formal certification from Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, she has dedicated over 25 years to studying and teaching the intricate techniques of Ottoman miniature painting. Having participated in multiple exhibitions and published work on Islamic art, she brings both technical expertise and cultural depth to the workshop, ensuring participants leave with a rich understanding of this ancient craft. She will be accompanied by a translator, allowing everyone to fully engage with her insights and expertise.

Andrea is an anthropologist, Master Mezcalier, and singer with over 15 years of experience promoting the mezcal culture of Guerrero through her projects. Her connection to mezcal runs deep, shaped by family traditions where the spirit was always paired with music and food. Since 2010, she has played an active role in elevating Guerrero mezcal on both national and international stages.

Juan Pablo is a traditional music promoter, singer, and composer for film, theatre, and collaborative projects. He is also a dedicated advocate for preserving Cardenche music in Mexico and abroad, helping to keep this rare vocal tradition alive through performance and education.

Chile

This 6.5-hour, truly exclusive experience intertwines poetry, cuisine, and dialogue in a highly personalized setting in Santiago, Chile. Starting with a sensory journey through the La Vega and Mercado Central food markets, you will procure the freshest ingredients for the grand finale. But before then—a rendezvous at the former address of Chile's most famous denizen of the past. Now a museum, La Chascona was where Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda worked magic both as a writer and gourmand.

The main course of the experience is served at the home of your host in Barrio Bellavista, where the morning's haul is transformed into Caldillo de Congrio (conger chowder), accompanied by premium Chilean wines. This aromatic fish soup was the dish Neruda prepared to welcome guests at his private residences in Santiago, Valparaíso, and Isla Negra. In fact, you'll be conjuring Caldillo de Congrio Nerudiano, true to the poet’s take on this time-honored recipe.

Much like Neruda, Julio is a gourmand who delights in feeding family and friends. His experience is curated to take you through every stage of the process—from chatting with a fishmonger who has run her stall for 50 years in Santiago’s oldest fish market to sautéing the oil and layering flavor into the chowder. During the cooking process, Julio will recite Neruda’s Ode to Conger Chowder—a lyrical poem rich in rhythm and emotion that also doubles as a step-by-step guide to preparing the poet’s signature dish.

Beyond the authenticity of speaking with longtime vendors, touring La Chascona with a Neruda expert, and preparing a meal infused with verse, this experience is marked by warmth. As Julio works his magic, you’ll hear how he first discovered a love for cooking while helping his mother in the family kitchen. In Üsküdar, snack on street simit and stuffed mussels while browsing produce stands that locals frequent. Then hop into a dolmuş (mini-bus) to reach Çengelköy, a waterfront village known for its pickled cucumbers, tea gardens, and hillside lanes. From there, head to Kuzguncuk, where wooden houses lean into each other and synagogues sit beside churches. “In my youth,” he recalls, “many people came here, to the Algarve, and my family—like many others—had small farms. I spent a lot of time working on these farms growing carob, figs, almonds, and olives.” These daily rituals shaped his relationship to the land. “Everybody knows the Algarve for its oranges,” he adds, 
remembering his family’s orchard. “I have good memories of my mother and my sister making lots of cakes—almond cakes, and sometimes orange cakes too.”

This place is located 100 km far from my home  and its in fundy national park New Brunswick canada  and its really amazing place the water falls looks soo good when you look with your nacked eyes  its a fresh water fall and the water also taste good we did hiking as well as had some snacks with my homies its a great location to come out for a good day and a good hike and have spend you day in nature i am a huge nature lover and i love to be in nature when i am on my off days i am so much indulge in nature activities like camping fishing bonfire start gazing from mountains bagpacking etc etc

A day out for hiking at fundy

Botswana

“But in the Kalahari, it's always Tuesday, or Thursday if you like. Or Sunday. No clocks or calendars tell you to do this or that.” - The Gods Must be Crazy

Walking with the Zu/’hoasi Bushmen of the Makgadikgadi Plains in the Central Kalahari, quintessential hunter-gatherers, I learned several things that I hope never to have to use - how to pronounce first names that are laden with clicks, collect plants for medicinal recipes, dig for scorpions, and make a fire with twigs and leaves.

Makgadikgadi means 'dry, dry', but the bush men and women know how to live in harmony with the land. Family and cultural ties are strong.

Thanks to Jack’s Camp for organizing this visit, they have longstanding connections with the local people.

Walking with Zu/’hoasi

Argentina

Buenos Aires is one of the southernmost capitals in the world and also an exciting city. Although there are many ways to explore Argentine city life, biking is the most fun.

Biking is free in Buenos Aires, at least for a few hours. Using an app I downloaded to my phone, I spent the next few days biking around the Botanical Gardens, the best museums, art galleries, El Caminito, the riverfront, and the city's largest flea market (on weekends only!). While you’re at it, you can also visit one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world in Recoleta.

Teatro del Generalife

El Pópulo District

I am completely fascinated by Buddhist prayer wheels. Our guide tells us that we should walk clockwise, turning the wheel and chanting, “Om Mani Padme Hum”. “Will that give me extra strength to climb up to the Tiger’s Nest monastery tomorrow?”, I ask him. “Absolutely”, he says earnestly. Well, at least one of us has faith, I think to myself.

Paro Taktsang - or Tiger’s Nest monastery - hangs off a cliff at a dizzying 10,240 feet over the Paro Valley. It’s a 5 hour climb, punctuated with lunch. Not too tough, as it turns out. I must be fitter than I think. But the guide reminds me - “See, I told you so”. 

The hike (including getting to the trailhead) takes about 6-7 hours, depending on how much time you spend at the monastery. 4 miles round trip on a wide dirt trail. At the halfway point is a cafeteria - and for most people, getting to this point is the toughest part of the hike. Beyond this, both the scenery and the difficulty of the climb are in your favor.
