This walk explores a different side of Florence, away from the museum circuit and into San Niccolò and the Oltrarno, where medieval streets, artisan workshops, wartime history, and Renaissance churches still shape life today. With Guido, you begin in San Niccolò, among small workshops and streets known for perfume makers and local trades. You stop for a hot slice of pizza and a glass of wine at a neighborhood bakery before heading towards the river.

Along the Lungarno, Guido traces the Second World War through this part of the city, explaining what happened here during the German occupation and why Ponte Vecchio, the gold trade, and the Vasari Corridor matter to that story. From there, the route continues into the Oltrarno, through streets overlooking the Arno and towards Palazzo Pitti, Santa Felicita, and Santo Spirito. The walk ends with the friars’ cloister and Michelangelo’s wooden crucifix, where Guido introduces the artist’s anatomical studies.

This experience offers access to a part of Florence that has preserved much of its local character. San Niccolò and the Oltrarno remain tied to workshops, studios, and neighborhood businesses that still shape life here.

Set in a tranquil Istanbul gallery, this hands-on session begins with an introduction to Ebru’s rich history and cultural significance. You’ll observe a live demonstration by a master artist, learning the techniques of working with fabric—how to prepare the base, control the pigments, and create balanced, flowing designs. Using natural earth pigments, you’ll craft a vibrant scarf, watching colors float, swirl, and settle into intricate shapes before being transferred onto fabric. By the end of the session, you’ll take home a unique wearable piece of Turkish heritage.

Unlike traditional paper marbling, this experience explores the delicate and complex process of marbling on fabric, a technique requiring precision, patience, and expert guidance. Her passion for preserving Turkish marbling has led her to explore its many forms, from bookbinding to fabric design. This immersive, sensorial experience spans two half-days, honoring the ancestral craft of sourdough bread-making. Inspired by the ancient Greek myths of goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, it combines bread-making, storytelling and mindful rituals that honor the sacred grain of wheat.

On the first half-day, you’ll learn about the ancestral art of sourdough breadmaking, delving into the significance of wheat in ancient Greece and its connection to Demeter. Through a mindful practice, you’ll prepare the dough, engaging with the wheat, your senses and the land of Athens. The bread is left to ferment overnight.

On the second half-day, you’ll bake the bread and share it in a ritual of togetherness. Paired with curated seasonal local foods, this mindful eating ritual fosters community and gratitude. This is a truly special, atmospheric experience — nighttime, on water, in a historic boat, with strong ties to local life. You’ll board a restored topa, the flat-bottomed boat once used by lagoon fishermen, for a rare nighttime navigation through Chioggia’s canals. Gliding through the picturesque Canal Vena under the stone bridges and soft lamplight, you’ll see the historic center from the same low-water perspective only accessible by this type of boat that locals have long experienced as they move between homes, docks, and markets.

As the boat moves into the open lagoon, the lights of Sottomarina shimmer on the horizon. The sky darkens, the water mirrors the moon, and familiar places take on a different shape at night. Long-eared owls and little owls call from rooftops and trees, while night herons skim silently over the water, hunting in the dark. Damiano, your guide and a lifelong resident, shapes the journey with personal stories — pointing out corners you’d miss in daylight.

This after-dark outing is a rare chance to witness the southern Venetian Lagoon as locals do, from the water at night. Chioggia’s rhythms are still tied to the lagoon’s working culture: fishing boats returning late (Chioggia is Italy’s second-largest fishing port), lamps swinging on piers, owls calling overhead. Even with Venice only an hour away by water taxi, this place feels distant from mass tourism.

The topa itself carries history; its low draft lets you slip into corners and canals most boats bypass. Because the boat sits low, reflections feel near, and the shoreline reads differently. Mexico

This experience takes you into the world of local Oaxacan stonework, centered around a lightweight, porous rock known as "cantera". This material is essential to the history of Oaxaca—many of the region’s structures are built from it. During colonial times, the area was briefly renamed Villa de Antequera because the stone’s soft green tones reminded settlers of that Spanish city.

You’ll visit a local cantera mine and family-run workshops to see their creative process firsthand. The experience also includes a homemade meal with the family matriarch. The set menu is accompanied by non-alcoholic drinks and a cup of locally made mezcal.

You’ll be guided by a fourth-generation stone artisan who shares both his family’s legacy and his own artistic work. You’ll engage in meaningful conversation about the history of cantera and the role it continues to play in the region. Transportation is included, and Ehren will provide translation support if needed.

Maestro Oscar has exhibited his work throughout the state and recently held a solo show. He also collaborates with local government to help preserve the city’s architectural harmony.

His great-grandparents once excavated stone from mines governed under indigenous law, and his grandfather contributed to many of the cantera structures in and around the city—including the ornate fountains in the Zócalo. In meeting this master artisan, you’ll connect with the current generation of stoneworkers who honor these traditions while sharing stories and relics that bring the past vividly into the present.

As you discuss local stonework, you’ll also enjoy Oaxacan delicacies over a private lunch prepared by his mother, Rubi, in her open kitchen—complete with a cup of local mezcal. The generational artistry of cantera has been recognized as an intangible cultural asset of Southern Mexico.

Through all of her projects—including Hecho, a marketplace of artisan-made goods from natural materials—Ehren maintains an active focus on supporting Mexican ancestral traditions through handmade product development, including textiles, pottery, homewares, and other works. This experience offers travelers an intimate way to experience the Valencian landscape that has shaped its many traditions and flavors. Guided by Valeria’s local insight and cultural expertise, your day begins with hotel pick-up in Valencia city, followed by a brief stop at the iconic City of Arts & Sciences, a major landmark reflecting the city’s contemporary identity.

From there, you travel to Albufera Natural Park, the birthplace of paella, and a protected landscape of rice fields, wetlands, and tranquil waters. Weather permitting, you enjoy a guided visit around the park before meeting a local boat owner for a relaxing, private ride across the lagoon.

In this unique lakeside setting, you are served an authentic Valencian paella, freshly prepared, allowing you to experience the dish in the place where it originated. After the experience, you return comfortably to Valencia.

Albufera Natural Park lies ten kilometers south of Valencia, a protected wetland where rice fields meet open water behind the Dehesa del Saler sandbar. Paella’s origin stories point to this setting: farmers cooking rice in the fields with what the land provided. Japan

This exploration of three lesser-known, evocative temple gardens in Kyoto offers a deep understanding of Japanese dry landscape design — where every stone, every line of raked gravel, carries meaning. Led by certified garden designer and author Ayumi Ikushima, the experience opens a thoughtful path into the philosophy and form of Zen gardens.

You’ll begin at the Crane and Turtle Garden where Ayumi introduces the foundational principles of Japanese garden design: symbolism, placement, interplay between nature and intention. 

A short walk takes you to a second temple where the garden reflects nature in miniature — a landscape composed to invite observation. You’ll learn to see and photograph the space mindfully.

Your final stop is a larger temple with a modern take on the tradition. A resident monk leads a meditation in view of the garden, offering how stillness and landscape are meant to interact. Then, you'll sit with Ayumi over tea and seasonal sweets to reflect and ask questions.

Many of Kyoto’s most famous temples now draw crowds so dense they verge on the tourist-trap, where authenticity gives way to speed and spectacle. This experience instead leads you through contemplative spaces where the spirit of the garden remains intact. This experience is a thread through Bordeaux that ties the city’s most unsettling truths to the stories people still whisper. From the shadows of Saint-Michel to the bell called Grosse Cloche, you move between squares, lanes, and secret places where trials were held, bodies were displayed, and legends took root. The route mixes well-known episodes with those locals inherit as childhood lore.

Along the way, you hear of mummies, a werewolf put on trial, a nun whose fate surfaced in a cello case, and accusations of witchcraft near Place Gambetta. You’ll also trace the riddle of Goya’s missing head.

Growing up in Buenos Aires, Gisela Vidal danced her first tango at the age of 14. From there, she trained extensively in Tango Salon and Tango Stage style with the finest Argentinian Masters. Besides tango, Gisela has studied contemporary dance, jazz, belly dance, ballet, Argentine folk, and salsa. She has undertaken further tuition in theater and film acting, mime and clown art, and singing.

The town Is made for walking with stone arches In bold colors, baroque architecture, churches from Spain and vibrant markets bursting with colorful woven garments like ponchos, hats & table cloth and handicrafts.

It’s the birthplace of chocolate 🍫 and there are several museums that teach how the Mayans made ‘the food of the gods’. Adjoining chocolate cafes serve decadent treats and chocolate liqueur.

The coffee ☕️ is divine too and apart from sampling the local shops, we visited a local plantation to learn about coffee making.
