This two-hour experience takes place in the studio of celebrated tango dancer and choreographer Gisela Vidal. Through a private workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of tango—from musicality and posture to the nonverbal connection between lead and follow. Gisela’s approach makes space for both technique and emotion.

After dancing, you’ll sit with Gisela over mate (herbal infusion) or wine to reflect on tango’s evolution, her global career and the emotional qualities that make tango a living art. The final part of the experience offers a window into Gisela’s creative practice as a jewelry designer. You’ll explore how tango’s gestures, shapes, and symbolism have influenced her tango-inspired jewelry—shaped by the same rhythm, elegance and emotional nuance she brings to her dance. Growing up in Buenos Aires, Gisela Vidal danced her first tango at the age of 14. From there, she trained extensively in Tango Salon and Tango Stage style with the finest Argentinian Masters. Besides tango, Gisela has studied contemporary dance, jazz, belly dance, ballet, Argentine folk, and salsa. She has undertaken further tuition in theater and film acting, mime and clown art, and singing.

Gisela has participated in international tango festivals and major events including the opening of the Dakar 2009 in Buenos Aires. She was the choreographer and a stunt dancer for the Tango Infedele Video Clip.

During her 20-year career, Gisela has danced and coached in over 40 countries. She co-managed a tango school in Milan and coordinated the Tango Querido School in Tuscany. She launched her own jewelry business in 2018.

Coyoacán Neighborhood

Portugal is home to vast cork oak forests (montados), particularly in the Alentejo region, where traditional cork harvesting has been practiced for centuries. Portugal produces over 50% of the world’s cork, used for everything from wine stoppers to sustainable fashion. These forests not only support rural communities but also provide a crucial habitat for wildlife, including the endangered Iberian lynx. A guided visit to a cork farm offers a fascinating look into this eco-friendly industry, from the hand-harvesting process to the transformation of cork into everyday products.


1. Witness the centuries-old tradition of hand-harvesting cork using special axes—trees are carefully stripped every 9 years, ensuring sustainability.

Cork Oak Forests

Iceland

This being a ‘chill trip’, we did not want to hike 10 hours on a glacier. Instead we trek on the Vatnajokull glacier looking for ice caves with wind on our face and ice under our feet.

Earlier, we woke up at 7 and drive in cold and windy January to Skaftafell National Park to meet Einar, our guide. 

This cave... like others ... started forming In August but you are never sure it will be stable to explore till later. In September, the loose ceiling collapsed  and this brilliant cave was formed.

These fragile and transitory structure require constant maintenance from falling rock and melting icicles. Einer enters the cave and spots a few boulders on the roof. He removes them to prevent harm to the cave and us. 

As we move around, the cave looks different as our viewing angle and the sunlight outside changes.

We are in complete awe ... and hungry. Luckily a steaming meal of lamb and potatoes is close by.
