Argentina

This creative photography experience in Buenos Aires is designed for newbie photography enthusiasts, those with existing knowledge about composition, and advanced photographers seeking ways to improve their cityscape and landscape photography. The locations are a variety of rooftop settings with remarkable views of the city, many of which are not known by tourists or are even off-limits to the average sightseer. 

During the course of the route, you will take in a panoramic view of Puerto Madero, Corrientes Avenue, and its Obelisk from an exclusive rooftop perch. You will soak up 360-degree views of Florida Avenue and the beautiful domes of May Avenue from a 14-floor aerial viewpoint. You’ll spy the historically poignant Plaza de Mayo from the Cabildo balconies and gasp at the sight of Recoleta Cemetery view from two bird’s eye vantage points—one of which is restricted to the general public. At each sight, Bernardo will provide expert photography tips and share anecdotes.

This rooftop photography excursion elevates your experience in Buenos Aires to new heights! Most of the locations are high-altitude spots which are unknown or even closed to foreign travelers. This experience invites you to read Herculaneum as a city caught mid-life by the AD 79 eruption of Vesuvius. You follow basalt streets, pause at corner fountains, and look into shops where stone counters still hold recessed jars. Wood endured here as charcoal—doors, beams, even furniture outlines—so kitchens, stairways, and upper floors remain readable. Worn thresholds and bakeries with mills and ovens make daily habits visible, while pyroclastic surges and mud sealed what they touched.

You'll trace the ancient shoreline, now inland, including the vaulted boat sheds (known as the fornici), the site’s starkest memory, the place where people sought refuge in a last desperate attempt to escape. Nearby, the Baths show pools, mosaics, changing rooms, and underfloor heating. You'll also discover the House of Neptune and Amphitrite with its mosaic, the College of the Augustales with painted panels, and the House of the Wooden Partition with its sliding screen.

Michele’s storytelling is what sets this experience apart, as he builds a living scene from traces that still speak—soot on ceilings, worn thresholds, a partition in charcoal. His pacing is crisp and each stop has a purpose. You feel invited into rooms where routine once moved—water at fountains, bread ground and baked. During the rainy season (January to April), the Capo Nieddu waterfall plunges directly into the sea 40 meters down a steep cliff, creating a breathtaking spectacle. 1. Visit the “Hendrix House” ruins, believed by locals to have inspired the song “Castles Made of Sand”—though Hendrix’s connection remains more legend than fact, the site is a favorite for photos.

Eclairs, ratatouille, fromage – mhmm, so yummy – paired with a glass of wine and pleasant company, a French cooking class is a trip for all the senses (and fun, too). We opted for a private cooking class in Paris with Léo, a chef who has cooked in several top restaurants throughout his life. 

The first dish we learned how to cook was a French cheese plate and handmade bread accompanied by filled vine leaves. After that, we learned about French cuisine, the main ingredients, preparation methods, history, and drank some more wine. We learned what ingredients make the French kitchen unique (wine, vinegar, and cheese) and made a delicious ratatouille, one of France's most popular vegetable dishes. 

We read you can also do these courses online, but you have to get the ingredients and tools beforehand. A good option for digital visitors!

2. Panoramic Views of Western Madrid: From Mirador de la Cornisa, enjoy expansive views of Madrid's western landscape. 3. Parc del Delta de l’Ebre

In the heart of Rome stands the Pantheon, a marvel of ancient engineering and architectural genius. This enduring edifice, originally built as a temple to the Roman gods, captivates with its grandeur and its remarkable state of preservation, offering a direct link to the imperial past of Rome. Top highlights:
 
1 - The Pantheon's striking façade, with its massive Corinthian columns and pediment, sets the tone for its awe-inspiring interior. As you step inside, the vast circular space, crowned by the famous coffered concrete dome with a central oculus, offers a sense of celestial connection. The harmonious proportions and the play of light through the oculus create a serene and almost otherworldly atmosphere.

2 - The Pantheon has served various roles throughout history, including its conversion into a Christian church. The tombs of renowned figures such as the artist Raphael and two Italian kings are housed here, each adding layers of historical depth to the monument.

3 - Pay attention to the rich artistic details, including the marble flooring and the intricate designs on the walls. The Renaissance additions, including the altar and the paintings, blend seamlessly with the ancient structure, showcasing the Pantheon's continuous influence over the centuries.

The Pantheon in Rome

Australia

Kakadu National Park is half the size of Switzerland and a real adventure. If you rent a car, you could drive along the road for weeks, camping in different places and experiencing nature in a way you can't anywhere else.

After leaving Darwin in a rented 4x4 jeep, we made the long drive to Kakadu National Park. Take plenty of drinks and snacks with you, as there aren't many stops on the road. Along the way, we visited several refreshing waterholes and waterfalls, had an open-air barbecue, and saw many birds, snakes, anthills, and farmland along the way.

At night we mostly stayed at campsites that provided tents, and the beauty of the night is incomparable. You can hear, smell, and see countless species of animals, from alligators swimming in lakes at night to dingoes howling, to weirdly chirping insects.

We hiked to a hidden waterfall and discovered some hundreds-of-years-old wooden paintings done by the ancestors of Australia's indigenous people. A must-see in Australia for sure!

Camping: Kakadu National Park

Set off on an extraordinary journey of the mind at the Museum of Illusions Madrid. This fascinating museum, located at Calle del Doctor Cortezo, 8 in Madrid, offers a one-of-a-kind immersive experience that blends art, science, and illusion. Opened in June 2020, it's a relatively new addition to Madrid's cultural scene but has quickly become a must-visit destination. This museum is part of the global Museum of Illusions chain, celebrated for its mind-bending and interactive exhibits. Top highlights:
1. The museum houses an array of artworks, interactive displays, and holograms that challenge your perception of reality. Featuring works by artists specializing in optical illusions, including Salvador Dali and M.C. Escher, it's a place that bewilders and amuses in equal measure.
2. Among its many attractions, the museum features the Ames Room, where people appear to grow or shrink, the Rotated Room that challenges your sense of balance, and the Infinity Room that creates an endless mirror effect, reminiscent of Yayoi Kusama's works.
3. Prepare to defy the laws of physics in the Anti-Gravity Room and navigate the disorienting Vortex Tunnel. These exhibits play with the perception of gravity and balance, offering a thrilling experience.
4. The museum, designed by Roko Zivkovic and Tomislav Pamukovic, focuses more on the content of the exhibits rather than the building's architectural design. The interior is a carefully crafted space of optical illusions and interactive displays.
This is one of the several small but perfectly crafted museums in Madrid - we recommend visiting a couple of them while you are in the city. Madrid’s Museum of Illusions

The Alhambra in Granada is a stunning example of Moorish architecture and one of Spain's most iconic historical sites. This vast complex, which includes the Nasrid Palaces, the Alcazaba fortress, and the Generalife gardens, served as the royal residence of the Nasrid sultans. Walking through its intricately decorated halls and serene gardens offers a glimpse into the splendor of the last Islamic kingdom in Spain.

Highlights of the Alhambra:

1. Nasrid Palaces: The heart of the Alhambra, the Nasrid Palaces are renowned for their intricate plasterwork, tile mosaics, and detailed wood carvings. The Hall of the Ambassadors and the Court of the Lions are must-see spaces, showcasing the pinnacle of Islamic art and architecture in Spain.

2. Alcazaba: This ancient fortress offers commanding views of Granada and the surrounding countryside. Climb the Torre de la Vela for one of the best panoramic views in the city, where you can appreciate the strategic significance of the fortress.

Girona, Spain, is a historic city in Catalonia known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, colorful riverside houses, and ancient city walls. Blending Roman, Moorish, and Gothic influences, Girona offers a rich cultural experience, from its iconic cathedral to charming cobblestone alleys featured in films and TV shows like Game of Thrones. The city’s mix of history, vibrant food scene, and peaceful river views make it a must-visit destination for history buffs, photographers, and food lovers alike.

1. Girona Cathedral 
Famous for having the widest Gothic nave in the world, the cathedral offers stunning views of the city from its grand staircase and was featured in Game of Thrones as the Great Sept of Baelor.

2. The Old City Walls (Passeig de la Muralla)
Walk along the medieval walls for panoramic views of Girona’s rooftops, bell towers, and surrounding countryside.

3. The Jewish Quarter (El Call)
