You will walk for about an hour through its narrow paved streets, breathing the scent of wild herbs while discovering hidden corners and breathtaking views from the Basilica of Santa Maria della Neve, the highest point of the town. Accompanied by Eva, you will learn to observe and collect the wild plants that grow spontaneously among the ancient stones and the surrounding fields, coming into direct contact with Sardinian nature and the history of the place.

After the botanic walk, you will experiment with cyanotype, an ancient sun-print technique to transform the collected herbs and flowers into a unique work of art, exploring a new connection between you and the soul of the place. The workshop is guided step by step by Eva, and you can bring your work home. After the creative experience, a taste adventure awaits you: the local panadas and a glass of wine.

You'll reconnect with nature and yourself by exploring the Sardinian landscape surrounding a traditional village and experimenting with your creativity through an ancient, sustainable artistic technique powered by the sun. The cyanotype technique, dating back to the 19th century, allows you to print on paper or fabric using sunlight and natural chemicals. An intense Prussian Blue emerges as the image gradually appears under the sun’s rays.

Botanical cyanotype does not require technical skills but unleashes your creativity through an intuitive interaction with Sardinian nature. All materials used are sourced from the surrounding landscape, collected during a walk through the stone-paved village and its nearby fields.

Mexico

In a dawn wildlife excursion, you'll canoe the magical canals in Xochimilco with a biodiversity expert. You set out before sunrise with private transport from your hotel. At the launch, board a low canoe and slip into the canals. Your wildlife guide outfits you with binoculars and field ID sheets. Chile

Round off a day exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Valparaíso by experiencing an authentic asado chileno with a local guide and grill master born and raised in the seaport. This three-hour barbecue experience is a personal invitation to partake in a beloved food experience rooted in convivencia (togetherness). Upon arrival at Juan Víctor’s family residence, you will be greeted with homemade empanadas and a pisco sour (Chile’s national cocktail). Chorizo sausages and premium cuts of beef are slowly cooked over an open flame, allowing plenty of time to chat with Juan Víctor over a glass of Carménère wine. 

In the sprit of convivencia, you are likely to be joined by some of Juan Víctor's relatives, friends, and neighbors. Together, you will bite into sizzling choripanes (chorizo sausages served on crusty marraqueta bread) and strips of meat fresh from the grill. Daniel Flores is a Mexican artist and the director of the Producción Gráfica Zanate printmaking workshop. He has also received several grants for projects focused on graphic and plastic arts production within various communities across the state of Oaxaca. Daniel has been working professionally in the Mexican art world since 2002.

He founded Gráfica Zanate in 2007, and the studio continues to produce annual printmaking portfolios in collaboration with artists from Oaxaca, Puebla, Mexico City, and abroad.

Olivier, whose career once took him around the world in science and business, always kept wine as his constant passion. In 2021 he embraced the dream of becoming a vintner, dedicating himself to reviving the potential of the estate and the historic French grape Côt (Malbec).

This tour follows a hiking route through inland Crete near Rethymno, across largely flat terrain shaped by agriculture and long settlement. You begin near the archaeological site of Ancient Eleftherna, where layers of Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian presence remain visible in stone foundations and terraced hillsides.

From there, the path opens into olive groves that stretch across the slopes beneath Mount Psiloritis — known in antiquity as Mount Ida and associated in myth with the birth of Zeus. You continue through the Margarites valley, crossing a Hellenistic bridge and passing farmland still in cultivation. Semi-abandoned hamlets stand beside active fields, revealing how rural life has shifted rather than disappeared.

A pause at a traditional kafenio in the Milopotamos area offers time within the rhythms of village life before the walk concludes in Margarites, a village long associated with pottery. You see artisans at work before sitting down for a light meal at a local taverna.

This hike unfolds within a landscape of long continuity. When asked about his love for Lisbon, Tiago’s enthusiasm is immediate: “I love my city! I really love the historic center of Lisbon!” Though he didn’t always feel that way. Growing up on the city’s outskirts, it wasn’t until returning after time abroad that he saw it anew. “It was as a young and independent adult with an arts and architecture degree, and with the enthusiasm to explore — that I realized how beautiful, diverse, and interesting my city is.”
For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. That means talking to locals, walking unfamiliar routes, listening more than looking. “Lisbon isn’t just to be seen, but touched, smelled, and tasted.” It’s not a checklist—it’s a presence.
He also names two challenges: First, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods are deeply distinct—each like its own mini-city. “Lisbon is multidimensional. It cannot—and should not—be rushed.” Second, mass tourism threatens the local character he cherishes. Responsible travel, he says, is essential to preserve the culture.
As tourism evolves, Tiago points toward Lisbon’s under-known strengths. “Gastronomy, street art, tiles, contemporary architecture… there’s so much more to discover!”

Then the dancers go around the room looking for partners from among the audience, and it’s fascinating to see the eagerness of the crowd to join in.

There’s a lot of Fernet-and-Coke - or the local Torrontés - on the tables to go along, and soon everyone is singing to the chorus. Their spirit is infectious.

The Lisbon Botanical Garden, located in the heart of the city near the National Museum of Natural History and Science, is a lush, tranquil oasis filled with exotic plants, towering palms, and unique flora from around the world. Established in 1878, this garden originally served as a research space for the study of botanical species and remains an impressive representation of Portuguese dedication to scientific knowledge and environmental beauty. Visitors can stroll through a maze of pathways shaded by old trees, enjoying an escape from Lisbon’s urban hustle while uncovering diverse plant species collected from former Portuguese colonies across Africa, Asia, and South America.

The Lisbon Botanical Garden

I have traveled to Moab, Utah on more than one occasion and every time it has been an absolute blast! This small, more local town is home to some amazing things that you can’t find anywhere else. 

There is a place there that I travel to every time called Mill Creek Canyon. It is a short hike to a watering hole that supplies the river you will have to cross more than once. Once you reach the watering hole, you will find an amazing view and usually many friendly people depending on what time you go. 

Now, it can get pretty hot in Utah so don’t forget the water and the sunblock, as well as a swimming suit!

The main attraction there is the cliff jumping! You can climb up the small waterfall and there will be a small ledge where you can jump from into the freezing water below. Let me tell you, it’s an absolute blast that you will never forget! 

I highly recommend this location to all people, even if you’re just passing through

Living it up in Moab

In Marrakech, explore the labyrinth of the medina, lined with market stalls and craftspeople, and full of secret places and contradictions. 

Anonymous, windowless, fortress-like walls enclose luxurious riads built around tiled courtyards, complete with fountains and gardens.

Happily, my wonderful guide Khadija of Morocco Private Experience, encourages my curiosity. She leads the way across the medieval labyrinth of chaotic alleyways - to the souks where centuries-old skills continue to flourish. 

I am intrigued about how all the craftspeople are clustered together by trade. We watch a metal craftsman shape a pair of gnawa cymbals. A leatherworker allows me inside his workshop for a better view. There is an entire street of ornate lantern sellers - the bronze-latticed lanterns competing with the palm-leafed roofs of the souks in throwing light-and-shadow patterns all around.

Heart and Souk

So amid the current situation of the world myself and two other friends managed to score flights to Colorado for $47. We rented a Jeep and decided to travel all around Colorado. This was my first time ever out west as I am an eastern girl! 

If you are ever able to visit Maroon Bells please do! Preferably at night so that you can watch the sun set over the mountain top! The sound coming from the small river combined with the smell of fresh air made me want to pitch a tent and never leave! The weather was not as cold as I expected. I was hoping to see more wild life but besides a few ducks there was none. I still had a fantastic time.

Meet the Lion. Landlord of the Okavango floodplains. The fearless prides of lions here are known to hunt buffaloes and elephants. They have large prides, with several young cubs. In the delta, as it is elsewhere, it’s all about power and opportunism.

The delta is clearly a fluke of nature, and the way to appreciate it best is from the air, especially in June and July when you can see the progress of the rain water flooding into the area and turning it into a lush paradise teeming with wildlife. 

It’s a very special place.

Lion vs. Buffalo

Nestled between the historic fortresses of San Sebastian and Santa Catalina, La Caleta Beach is a picturesque urban retreat that encapsulates the soul of Cádiz. This beach, the smallest among Cádiz’s urban beaches, forms a natural cove that has served as a peaceful harbor since Phoenician times. Its golden sands and gentle waves invite you to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a tranquil sunset stroll.
Best Times to Visit and Activities: La Caleta Beach is a year-round destination, with the summer months from June to October being ideal for swimming. The beach fills with life as locals and visitors alike bask in the sun or enjoy the cool waters. Evenings at La Caleta are particularly magical, as the setting sun paints the sky in pastel hues. Beyond swimming, the beach's calm waters are suitable for kayaking.
Cultural Significance: La Caleta Beach is steeped in history and culture. The Spa of Our Lady of La Palma and Real, a notable structure on the beach, now houses the Underwater Archaeology Center. The beach's proximity to Cádiz’s old town means you're never far from exploring the city's rich heritage, from the majestic castles that guard the beach to the vibrant local neighborhood of La Viña.
Exploring Further: A walk along the causeway to San Sebastian Castle offers breathtaking views of the coastline and the city. Although the castle itself has been closed to tourists for some years, the walk remains a highlight.
