Lisbon | Portugal

What is this?

Your guide collects you from your hotel in a comfortable vehicle. You cross the Tejo River on the 25 de Abril Bridge, a 2.3-kilometre suspension bridge opened in 1966, with the Cristo Rei statue on the far bank and the river opening to the Atlantic on your right. The motorway then runs south across the Setúbal Peninsula, past pine woods and farmland, to the coast of Sesimbra.

What makes this unique?

Having door-to-door transport means no trains, ferries, or parking to deal with, which matters in Arrábida, where cars are restricted on the coastal road in summer and parking near the beaches is scarce. The drive gives your guide time to set out the day, explaining how the park was formed, why it was protected in 1976, and what changed when UNESCO added it to its network of Biosphere Reserves in 2025.
