This is where the tour starts and ends. Burano is a charming and colorful island in the Venetian Lagoon, known for its brightly painted houses and long-standing tradition of lace-making. Located about 7 kilometers from Venice, a 25 minute water taxi (to be arranged via your Venice hotel) or a 40-minute vaporetto (water bus) ride can transport you to this picturesque locale from Venice. Historically, Burano was a fishing village, and this heritage is evident in its culture and cuisine, with seafood being a prominent feature in local dishes.  You can also stay overnight at Venissa or Casa Burano. It's amazing to wake up early on the island before the tourists get here and wander around.

As you enter the Palazzo Ducale in Venice, and wander through its halls and chambers, know that you're walking in the footsteps of Doges and councilors who shaped the destiny of the Serenissima Republic. The palace stands proudly as a symbol of Venice's glorious past: Gothic grandeur meets Renaissance elegance. Key highlights:

Experience the elegance of the Nani Bernardo Palace, designed by Architect Vittoria in 1550. Marvel at its harmonious aspect, enriched by a valuable hidden Venetian garden. Should Nani Bernardo be unavailable, the alternative stop is Ca' Rezzonico Palace, another marvel of Venetian architecture - or a similar equally stunning palace, specially selected by Lucia. 

This is a private palace that is accessible only by appointment and with the help of our connection with Lucia. 

Designed by Architect Vittoria, on commission from the Bernardo family, the Palace was built in 1550. 
Around 200 years ago, the current owner's ancestors added a new Italian garden to the palace, demolishing a series of houses on the side closest to the Grand Canal in the process and gave the Palazzo Nani Bernardo an entirely new, and harmonious aspect that is still evident today.

Another element is the really valuable back garden, very nice and extraordinarily extended in length, made during the eighteenth century. In case Nani Bernardo is booked out for a private event, we will replace this stop with Ca. Rezzonico Palace or an equally stunning palace.
