At the Terrace Houses, step into elite Roman homes: mosaic floors, frescoed walls, private baths, even graffiti — names, accounts, shopping lists etched into plaster. Then drive to the House of the Virgin Mary, 6th-century chapel perched on Mount Koressos. Believed to be built over earlier foundations, the site has drawn pilgrims for centuries and was visited by three popes. Also stop at Temple of Artemis, now reduced to one standing column — the last remnant of a structure once counted among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. End at a ceramics studio and a carpet atelier where working artisans demonstrate skills passed down the generations.
