What is this?
Embark on a 3.5-hour immersive journey through the rural landscapes of Loulé, beginning at Ponte dos Álamos, the gateway between urban life and the serene countryside. This exploration leads you along narrow roads lined with a variety of trees producing dried fruits such as figs, carobs, almonds, and pomegranates.
Hiking through these orchards offers a unique glimpse into sustainable farming practices and their role in Algarve’s natural ecosystem. You’ll witness how traditional cultivation methods respect and enhance the surrounding environment, providing a sanctuary for both flora and fauna.
The trail passes through an organic farm where you’ll meet local farmers dedicated to reviving forgotten crops like thistle, flax, chickpeas, and Indian peas. Here, you'll sample freshly made snacks made from these home-grown ingredients. The experience concludes at a tranquil water spring and waterfall, leaving you rejuvenated and connected to nature.
