What is this?
This full-day Machu Picchu experience starts with an early transfer from Cusco to Ollantaytambo where you'll embark on a panoramic train journey to Aguas Calientes through the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival, you'll transfer to Machu Picchu by scenic bus ride and commence your guided tour of the citadel — exploring the ancient stonework and terraces while learning the beguiling history of this iconic wonder with your private guide. Standing 2,500 meters above sea-level, in the middle of a tropical forest on the slopes of the Andes, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to encounter one of the greatest architectural achievements in human history.
Before heading back to Cusco, you'll visit the Butterfly House and learn about the region’s delicate wildlife and vibrant ecosystems. This serene, charming sanctuary provides a moment of calm after an adrenaline-packed morning. A relaxed meal is enjoyed at a local restaurant before riding the Vistadome Observatory train back to Cusco.
What makes this unique?
This itinerary makes Machu Picchu a same-day trip from Cusco — possible only with precise timing and seamless logistics. It immerses you in the nature, culture and history of the Inca civilization. Special attention is paid to comfort — starting with a scenic ride through Sacred Valley on the Vistadome Observatory train, while Renato provides context. With all logistics taken care of, you focus on the exploration aspect of the outing as your guide walks you around the most significant relic from the Inca Empire.
Visiting these terraces and buildings with a local guide adds far deeper understanding than visiting alone could do. Questions are encouraged as Renato unravels the mysteries of the citadel and its past inhabitants. Visiting the Butterfly House adds a twist — often overlooked with Machu Picchu tours. Renato's belief is that understanding and appreciating the diverse wildlife strengthens your connection with the area's unique ecosystems, and reminds us of the power of nature.
