What is this?

This cinematic experience follows Sicilian locations from The Godfather and turns the day into a film with you at its center. You are accompanied by Vladimir and Alfio, both Sicilian filmmakers, who guide the experience through scenes, emotions, and natural moments while filming with a cinematic approach. The footage is edited into a tangible memory of your journey. After a cinematic briefing during breakfast, you head to Savoca, where the first scenes are filmed among lanes untouched by time and the legendary Bar Vitelli. The route continues to the hilltop village of Forza d'Agrò, as the story moves through medieval streets and panoramic views. After a typical Sicilian lunch at a family-run trattoria, you return to scenes from The Godfather at Castello degli Schiavi, with exclusive access to a location generally closed to the public. The experience ends in Nunziata di Mascali, where you discover a secret location, away from the usual visitor routes, and still kept intact.

What makes this unique?

Designed for two guests at a time, this experience puts you inside the cinematic frame of The Godfather, not on a standard tour of a list of its locations. Led by Vladimir and Alfio, both Sicilian filmmakers who understand filmmaking from the inside, the day is filled with stories from the making of the film, lesser-known details, and practical choices behind the scenes — while they guide the filming so your starring moments feel natural and memorable. Another defining element is exclusive access to Castello degli Schiavi — one of the film's most famous locations and a private historic residence normally closed to the public. Vladimir and Alfio also bring you to a place far from the usual radar, in a village on the slopes of Etna, adding a more unexpected side of eastern Sicily. The footage is professionally edited in the following days and sent to you as a short movie with a cinematic feel: a memory of the day you played a leading role in The Godfather.

What is the profile of the host?

Vladimir Di Prima and Alfio Vecchio bring together cinema, writing, editing, and a deep connection to eastern Sicily. Vladimir is a Sicilian writer and filmmaker who has been part of the organizing committee of the Premio Brancati — one of the island's cultural reference points — for over twenty years. Alfio is a Sicilian director, editor, and cinema scholar, active in documentary work and film education through Teatroimpulso in Catania. He is also part of the staff of the Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Frontiera in Marzamemi. Together, they have founded a small film production company that celebrates Sicily through film, memory, and place.

What to bring?

Comfortable walking shoes. An outfit you feel comfortable being filmed in.

Where is this located?

Where will we meet?

You'll meet Vladimir and Alfio just outside the Giarre exit tollbooth on the A18 Messina-Catania motorway, where you can park your car for free. The Giarre motorway exit is a 25-minute drive from Taormina and a 30-minute drive from Catania. Guests will need to reach the meeting point independently by car. From there, you will continue the experience with Vladimir and Alfio in their vehicle.
