What is this?

This is a walking tour in the vibrant heart of Buenos Aires along the iconic Corrientes Avenue. Often likened to New York City's Broadway, Avenida Corrientes is also the city's literary soul—pulsating with life, culture, and irresistible aromas. On this experience, you'll ogle historic theaters, browse charming independent bookstores open late into the night, and savor unique flavors shaped by Italian and Spanish heritage reimagined with a distinctly Porteño touch. In fact, diving into the city’s beloved café culture plays a starring role in Gabriela's experience. These cafes are where locals gather to talk politics, poetry, and psychoanalysis for hours upon hours over fabulous coffee and sweet medialunas. Gabriela's immersive experience blends arts, literature, gastronomy, and the social rituals that make Buenos Aires so unforgettable. She will also share her insider tips for the best restaurants, shows, and milongas where you can continue your cultural foray after hours.

What makes this unique?

Avenida Corrientes is one of the culturally richest streets in Buenos Aires where life orbits around the good times: books, theater, coffee, food, and conversation that stretches into the twilight hours. Gabriela, a Porteño native, will be your host—guiding you past the legendary and lesser-known spots at a gentle pace. Rather than simply clicking your camera at the likes of Teatro San Martin or Teatro Opera, you'll hear Gabriela's perspective and thoughts on each playhouse. She also builds on her training as a production designer to weave hidden details and anecdotes into her narration. Dipping into bookstores (Buenos Aires is one of the cities with the most bookstores per capita in the world) is an opportunity for Gabriela to recommend books penned by Argentinians—novels, art books, and beyond. Pausing at eateries, she will introduce you to the tastiest flavors enjoyed by Porteños with friends and invite you to partake in the cultural ritual of sharing coffee, empanadas, and pizza!

What is the profile of the host?

Gabriela Chistik is not your typical guide—she’s a creator of memorable experiences blending her artistic eye, deep cultural knowledge, and passion for storytelling. A native of Buenos Aires and a citizen of the world, she brings her city to life with warmth, humor, and insight. She has a background working as a Production Designer and Cultural Producer in Buenos Aires, New York, Spain, and Morocco. Most recently, Gabriela has undertaken further studies including a Diploma in Gender Perspective in Tourism and a Postgraduate course in Sustainable Tourism. Her mission? To craft enriching encounters that stay with visitors long after the tour ends.
