Get out of the city of Bordeaux to spend the day in the countryside villages of the Gironde. You meet Anne in Langon and explore one of the best open-air markets along the banks of the Garonne River. At the market, you enjoy tastings guided by Anne, a chef who lives in the surrounding countryside, regularly shops here, and knows the producers and vendors personally. Together, you purchase a selection of products to share later for lunch.

After the market, Anne takes you to Bazas, the most important town between Bordeaux and Toulouse for nearly 2,000 years. Here, you walk through the village’s historic center, following Roman traces and learning about its links to Henry IV and Château Haut-Brion.

For lunch, you can choose to enjoy what you bought at the market with Anne as guests in a local hotel’s dining room, or sit at a restaurant on the cathedral square. After lunch, you have some time to continue exploring the village, before returning to Bordeaux.

This day is built around places that sit outside the usual visitor routes — working villages where the market still sets the rhythm. You will meet Anne at Langon train station, about 45 minutes from Bordeaux. After the visit to the Langon market, you will travel together with Anne to Bazas, around a 20 minute drive from Langon. At the end of the experience, Anne will take you back to Langon train station.

Anne Jordan, chef and guide with over thirteen years of experience, has lived in Bazas since the very moment she and her husband visited the village and decided to stay, a decade ago. She has cooked in private yachting and in Michelin restaurants in Paris before making her home in the French countryside.

Samuél has lived in Paris since 2010 as a novelist, musician, and literary tour guide. He holds an MA in social theory and an MFA in creative writing. He is a member of an indie rock band and the co-founder of Kingdom Anywhere, an independent anglophone publisher in Paris.

On this experience, you’ll visit the family’s workshop and mulberry orchard to learn about the cyclical process of silk production—from raising the worms to spinning, weaving, and creating natural dyes. You’ll try your hand at spinning, browse the family’s unique and beautiful creations, and learn about the importance of this process to both the family livelihood and legacy.

Through all of her projects—including Hecho, a marketplace of artisan-made goods from natural materials—Ehren maintains an active focus on supporting Mexican ancestral traditions through handmade product development, including textiles, pottery, homewares, and other works. Her projects also place special emphasis on supporting women and indigenous communities.

Argentina

This 3.5-hour photography experience takes place in two of the most beautiful and culturally rich neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: La Boca and San Telmo. Led by a professional travel photographer from Buenos Aires, you will explore these streets with your own camera and learn how to capture the kinds of imagery usually seen in guidebooks and brochures.  Bernardo will steer you past iconic sights and down hidden passageways, illuminating architectural features easily spotted by the typical traveler. You will also fall into the natural rhythm of these bohemian districts and hear about the people who have shaped their development over the centuries.

The experience is designed for beginner photographers through to those with an existing knowledge of photography. It is best experienced with a DSLR or mirrorless camera however cell phones are also welcome. Tripods are not necessary although carrying a variety of lenses is a bonus.

This photographic experience is designed to introduce you to the most bohemian, visually enticing, and culturally stimulating neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Rather than a standard walking tour, you will explore La Boca and San Telmo from the perspective of a professional photographer, an artist, and a Porteño local. Bernardo will guide you along La Caminito—the “Little Street” also referred to as an open-air street museum—where you will be immersed in the area’s vibrant history of tango and street art. From behind the lens, you will trace (and capture) the contrasts between these colorful tenement residences and modern structures.

Someone described #Churchill as “the warmest coldest tundra town”. It is a friendly, curious town. It also claims to have 300 days of northern lights. 

Basically, if you happen to be in Churchill on a clear night, prepare to wake up, dress up in layers (quickly), and be enthralled. 

Last Sunday night, when most had turned back in after what looked like an “average” aurora display, we waited and were rewarded with lovely green ribbons and curtains.

This beach, the smallest among Cádiz’s urban beaches, forms a natural cove that has served as a peaceful harbor since Phoenician times. Its golden sands and gentle waves invite you to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a tranquil sunset stroll.
Best Times to Visit and Activities: La Caleta Beach is a year-round destination, with the summer months from June to October being ideal for swimming. The beach fills with life as locals and visitors alike bask in the sun or enjoy the cool waters. Evenings at La Caleta are particularly magical, as the setting sun paints the sky in pastel hues. Beyond swimming, the beach's calm waters are suitable for kayaking.
Cultural Significance: La Caleta Beach is steeped in history and culture. The Spa of Our Lady of La Palma and Real, a notable structure on the beach, now houses the Underwater Archaeology Center.
