Canadian-born Ehren Seeland combines her passion for ancestral artistry, storytelling and community support via Hecho, a project founded on her devotion to impactful experiences and handmade works that showcase traditional processes and natural materials. Her efforts include a continued focus on promoting women and indigenous communities. She’s a seasoned international marketer, product developer, sourcing agent, travel consultant, and writer. Ehren collaborates with an extensive network of artisans throughout Mexico, as well as clients from across the globe. After studying art and design in Canada and Scotland, she worked as a designer in NYC, then in international development in higher education. For the last decade, Ehren has been living full-time in Oaxaca, Mexico. She currently resides in an indigenous Zapotec town, just outside of the capital city, with her Oaxacan husband and their rescue dogs. Together, they own and run three small, local businesses.
